If you really want to take more damage, just don't max your armor cap. Or don't wear the helm or something, (which looks cool imo anyways) Thats pretty easy to mess with without modding. I assume you allready have a maxed out daedric bow for damage? Abusing sneak I thought my archer damage was stupid good maxed out....
BTW there very might well be a mod that can do this (I am sure there is one to make you do more damage lol) but I played on console so I have to try and come up with ways to do things without mods. heh

Holy Hell. I decided to pick up this game after all the great reviews it's had. At first I felt really... Overwhelmed. A lot of TL;DR moments and some giant world that I have no idea about.
And to say I'm hooked is an understatement. Now i'm 10 hours into it after two days, which for me is pretty remarkable considering I work 10 hours a day. Beautiful game!

enjoy it
the first 50 hours of skyrim are some of the best first 50 hours ive had with any game.

Never mind I found the answer to my question. But I do have one more: do I have to complete the Bleak Falls Barrow quest for dragons to become "unlocked" in the game? I have been just doing thief stuff my entire time and I've been just about everywhere and never seen a dragon, I constantly hunt giants and looking for more places to find them, but have never seen a dragon, even have 3 shouts already after only a couple days with the game. I figured they wouldn't force me to do the main quests just to see them, I hate the dungeons compared to the beautiful open mountain ranges and valleys. TT

The marker thing is showing its basically under a box on the second story of the building or like inside the box or something which it obviously isn't. Has anyone else seen this at all? Please help. TT You talking about the one in Haelga's Bunkhouse? That one irritated the hell out of me; apparently, that location has about a 50% chance of bugging out like that. There are two solutions.
+ Show Spoiler [Instructions] +If you're on a console, your only recourse is to go back to Delvin and quit the job. If you're on a PC, enter the following command into the console: setstage tgrfo 50 This command will force the quest "The Numbers Job" to automatically complete the "Forge the ledger" objective, essentially finishing the job for you. You can now return to Delvin and report your "success".

TT If I recall, you are required to complete the main quest entitled "Dragon Rising" for non-scripted dragon encounters to occur in Skyrim. It's not far along in the main quest chain; perhaps a couple of hours of gameplay total to reach that point from the beginning of the game (provided the player takes some time to explore a little). Once you complete the task of retrieving the item Faerengar requires from Bleak Falls Barrow, Dragon Rising becomes available. Dragon Rising is perhaps a ten or fifteen minute diversion, so it shouldn't take long for you to do.
After that, enjoy them dragons.

Thank you so much Aeres! :D Wish we could use our report button to tell mods how good people can be around here, you'd be getting one from me right now. ^^

I stated having some of the non scripted without bleak falls barrow after wrecking some dragons at their spawning points first.

Hmm. Well, I got my info from UESP, which is generally a trustworthy and reliable source. I might update the page on dragons if/when I have the time to confirm your claim.

Yep you were right bro, did both those first main quests and after a few hours I now have 7 dragons killed and 6 shouts. :D Sadly I lost that one woman companion from White Run, found a new dude in Rorikstead (think its the name), hopefully he does better than the chick though, the dragons never shot at her only me. lol So glad I got all the dragon armor!

how does getting dragons after the dragon rising quest prove that you can't get dragons before doing the dragon rising quest? lol

I had been hunting for dragons for hours and hours just getting frustrated before realizing to ask my question here. If that isn't proof that you have to do those missions than I don't really know what to say, its how it worked for me.
edit-Oh and I had read on the internet that it was hard to find daedric hearts and thought I'd throw it out there that one re spawns in the Companions guild in that main room with the 3 locked cases on the far wall on the left, I go back there every couple of days to re-steal another one, didn't know if that was common knowledge and just wanted to throw it out there.

Happy birthday, RaLakedaimon!
I didn't know about the Daedric Heart in Jorrvaskr; nice tip, man. Personally, though, I'm pretty much always rolling in gold, so if you have the coin for it, Enthir in Winterhold sells two Daedric Hearts (among other expensive items) after you convince him to do business with you. What makes him ideal for this over other merchants is his reliability. Unlike generic Alchemy merchants, he will always have Hearts, and restocks them in two day's time. So if you have a lot of septims, and need a lot of Hearts, just buy them from him, use the Wait command for 24 hours twice, and repeat.

Dark Brohood Spoilers:
+ Show Spoiler +So I came back from killing the fake emporer and a bunch of agents were storming the sanctuary...then a dragon landed out of nowhere. Epic as fuck battle.

All alchemy vendors have a chance at having daedra hearts, it depends largely on your alchemy level at the time though.
Also, finally found a character that makes vanilla Skyrim difficult. A regular old sword and board build turns out to be 10X more challenging than anything else I've tried. Main perks are block, 1h, heavy armor, and restoration.

So I've gotten into the Skyrim screenshot business. Here are the ones I have so far, with more to come: http://imgur.com/a/mxgTW
All are 1920x1080 with maximum settings and some amount of AA (8x on the earliest, 4x on the most recent), so they make for good wallpapers.

My point was that regular merchants will only have a chance of having Daedra Hearts for sale. In Enthir's case, he will always have them in stock, which makes him a lot more reliable than, say, Arcadia's Cauldron or The White Phial.
I probably should have worded that better.

Playing ring around the rosie with dumb NPC is exhilarating! All that stood between me (level four high elf) and a giant, was a tree! I would take pot shots at him with my bow and fire spells while trying to keep him on the other side of the tree. It took me well over three minutes to bring his health down. And all the while I was thinking of the imminent doom that would await for me if he ever managed to hit me.
The ground shaking whenever he missed and hit the earth instead was a plus, just added to the "This is how f**ked you'll get" fear effect in me.
Oh yeah, and getting hit by a nasty fireball by those dragon wizards, and then dying because I fell too hard down a mountain... Yeah, what a bummer.
