Should I buy Skyrim now so I can play during the rest of my break, or just save my money and get a gtx 560 ti later on? Should be fine on medium at least but you could use a better graphics card. You should get it now. Skyrim requires some kind of break. Trust me. edit. Get Skyrim I mean. The GTS 250 is GDDR5, right? I maxed Skyrim in ALL video settings, 1600x900, on a 1 GB 4890 HD and 3.3 GB of RAM. You could probably do the same. Where can I dl duke's combat overhaul? I couldn't find it. By that you mean that it is just maxed or it is running smoothly? Meaning constant +60fps?
Yeah sorry, maxed and completely smooth.

When you smith or enchant, time stops right? Just making sure I don't need to rush after I drink a fortify skill potion which lasts 30 secs. I've been paranoid and rushing crafting because I'm not sure

Uh guys...I installed a couple of small mods, found that I had performance issues, and uninstalled, but now the game is still laggy on the map and the arrow pointer is missing from menus. Any ideas? Will I need to reinstall?

Any one know of any Skill Balancing mods? Alchemy and Block take forever to level while Smithing and One Hand take a couple of seconds. It'd be cool if there was a mod that could balance this.

I disagree about block. You can level block much faster than you can level one handed; shield bash people to death at lower levels, then block giant attacks later on and you'll maxed it out easily. As for changing the rate at which individual skills level, this mod can do it:

Alter the text file, and find the values that feel right to you.

Hey everyone, I think I have found a glitch in the under saarthal quest. I got the the second puzzle and turned the stones the correct way. The pillars were in the CORRECT position, but when I pulled the lever, the door did not open and the darts fired. I cannot exit the cave because back near the wizard, the exit is blocked off. The only solution is to finish the cave, but I cannot because of this bug.
Has anyone come across this before? What is the best solution?

Has anyone come across this before? What is the best solution? A few people have reported this bug occurring before. If you're on a PC, follow the instructions below:
+ Show Spoiler [Instructions] +This can be resolved by entering the console, selecting the lever at the center of the puzzle, and entering 'setpv numPillarsSolved_var 4', followed by 'setpv puzzleSolved_var true'. After exiting the console and activating the lever, the door should open as normal.
If you're on an XBox360 or PlayStation 3, it gets more trial and error:
+ Show Spoiler [Instructions] +In a few circumstances, players have found the solution to be some other random combination of pillar faces. Some people have opened the door by placing the pillars in the following order:
Left front: Snake Left back: Whale Right front: Whale Right back: Bird
If you've tried every possible permutation of pillars, and the door still doesn't open, you'll probably just have to reload from an earlier save.

Is it possible to leave a very special dragon alive long enough to find every shout from the greybeards before killing him to join the blades full-time, so as to enjoy the rewards of both factions?

Time actually keeps going sadly I haven't seen what happened if you use slow time beforehand, but sadly it still is ticking away.

Yeah, just wait...I say fuck the blades, though. Seriously.

You can't train your shouts afterwards. Was somewhat disappointed with the lack of a "lie to the blades" option considering they'll never actually be able to get up there to check.

Wait nevermind, I just got around my computer to try that and I typed in exactly what you said. The lever just deactivated and does not do anything now...

Just got this game yesterday so I'm still a Skyrim scrub, and needless to say, this game is sooo godlike XD
One thing I'm confused about: I accidentally got a companion killed by a mob while out and about and after looting her, got the key to her house. Does that make it my house? Or do I still need to purchase a house myself to be considered its resident?

No doesn't make it your house :p.
You have to buy your own house. Having the key just makes it easier to break in. You can also pickpocket keys from NPC's and rob their houses empty.

They put out the best selling games from the 2 weeks of sale on the last day, so chances that skyrim will be there on 2nd Jan is quite high

January second! Many thanks my friend. I will mark my calendar.

Is there any way to mod the damage on the pc? I feel like i barely do any damage, and enemies merely scratch me, and close wounds heals me so much. The game feels very slow paced now. (Level 51 archer, playing on master difficulty btw)
