Despite all this though, I've been having a blast playing it, and getting to walk around Skyrim, which is a stark contrast to the surroundings we got in Oblivion. Not having to deal with Oblivion Gates is great too ![]() Honestly, the true potential of Skyrim hasn't even been seen yet; I can't wait to see what the modding community throws out once they get their hands on the construction kit. (Apart from the nude mods -_-) TLDR: It's a solid game, feels a lot like a console port, but you should buy it.

I get nerd chills just thinking about how awesome it would be to play as Richard running around with the sword of truth and following the books story. Or being Rand Al'Thor the Dragon Reborn...oh man something like that would be so amazing. I would love to see the devs do this themselves but I would settle for a third party mod but I can see how they could make a ton of money from selling DLCs that modify the game to follow popular fantasy book stories. Btw 44 hours played currently and I really love the game and the story so far. I just can't stop thinking how much cooler it would be to play out some of my favorite book series stories as well. I don't see how substituting one generic fantasy setting for another generic fantasy setting would make for a better game. I'd much rather see Morrowind straight up ported to this engine or something. I think the elder scrolls world is pretty cool, actually.. though after the Dragon Age games it feels like they're both heavily referencing some very specific fantasy fiction that I don't know about (besides GOT ... could be Wheel of time I guess.. haven't read any of it and it doesn't seem that interesting either)

Yeah man, it's pretty ridiculous how bad each and every attempt at a LoTR rpg has being so far. I cry my eyes out whenever I see another half ass attempt in action/rpg style. I just wanna play a well designed sandbox rpg in middle-earth/other fantasy world godamit!

Also, enchanting gear, or purchasing item already enchanted so that you can maybe get some magic resistance might help too. Finally, quite early in the Alteration tree if you have any skill, it has a perk for 10/20/30% base resistance - even the 10% is quite substantial. And if all else fails, magic resistance potions. I think one of the stones also gives a +25% magic resistance? not sure...

Does weird things to the timeline though.

Level 24 with 70 Sneak; Difficulty of combat: Ridiculously Low At least, that's my experience with the Sneak perk so far. Does it really negate all downsides of movement? Everything certainly seems much easier to assassinate.
