What's the lovers stone and what does it do and how do you marry someone? O_O

Hi, I have bought Skyrim for PC on Steam and I've been having some "problems" that I didn't realize were problems until now.
I have been unable to see spider webs since I first started playing, I didn't think anything of it, though, and I always figured out that I should try attacking.
My Flames, Sparks, and Frostbite spells have never had actual animations, I hear they are supposed to be streams of fire, lightning, or ice. What mine does is simply hit the enemy and I thought nothing else of it.
But now, I have realized that something is wrong. I am currently on the "Revealing the Unseen" quest for the College and I am at the Dwemer light focusing machine. I cannot see the strong rays of light that I am supposed to see. I see very faint beams of light. I tried to figure this out for quite a while on my own and finally got frustrated and turned to google and found youtube videos where I not only saw that other players saw the aforementioned strong rays of light, but I also noticed that their Flames and Frostbite spells looked as they should.
As I said before, I play on PC. I play on low settings.
I'm just wondering if there is a simple fix to this, such as changing something in the .ini files. If anyone knows anything, please let me know. This kind of put a damper on my love for this game.
Reps for life, csebrah

You can 1 hit damn near everything not Giant/Special. I've even killed a few bosses in just 2 or 3 hits. So imba.
I have almost the same thing. 45% due to armor, and all 5 damage upgrades. I literally kill everything in 2- shots. But now I can choose a third tree I was wondering how essential people thought armor was. Apperantly not at all xD

I wanted to spend just an hour of playing before studying, but thanks to the weight system, it ruined my hour. A dragon attacked me out of nowhere near Windhelm, and by looting the bones and scales, I was literally fucked. The speed was sooo slow. I had to waste 30min trying to get to Windhelm in super slow mode, try to find a merchant desperately, but I could not. I had to steal a horse just to fast travel, and I went back and sold a couple just to be able to fast travel again, and then stored the rest in my home at the College. Seriously, I understand why the mechanic is there, but it just fucked up the night for me.
I heard as a mage you cannot do shit with Dragon Bones, so I might sell them altogether soon.

Armor is only helpful when you get it...You generally don't want to get hit.

If you plan to raise smithing for money you could craft them into armor then sell the armor for a bigger profit.

I heard I can raise money together with selling potions, so I'll go for that. Thanks for help tho, I'll sell them.

Do I have to enchant my armor with magic resists? I can't wait until I get the elemental reduction on my shield and moving faster while blocking in the Block skill tree.
Coupled with the fact that Skyrim likes to quit out to desktop at random save points, I don't think I have ever raged more in a game than this one. Not even Starcraft 2. And yes I've tried all the troubleshooting with the crashes.
Spring Shout has been my best friend in this game. I haven't gotten very far, but I always keep this Shout on my hotkey so that I can just sprint and easily one-hit the enemy before they even know what's going on.
Random bugs in this game has angered me too. Before I found out about carriages or even when I have to walk to an unknown location, and it crashes or something happens, I rage. I also learned it's better to just follow the road to the quest and not go exploring random places unless I'm confident I won't die lol. (stupid giants and wizards)

Game is amazing...
Dual wielding skysteel swords with swords onehanded perk... fun!
Are there any mages or healers you can ask to follow you instead of a melee/archer character? That'd be sick... And does anyone know if they level with you?

I've searched 1 fkn real time hour for her and she's not sitting on her throne ever (where she should be I assume) at any point in time. I just want that goddamn house in solitude and have to do a quest for her.
I believe she did not show up and speak to me until I assisted with the cave quest that they were talking about when you are first listening in. Once that was done, she was there and even mentioned that she heard what a great job I did with clearing it and now had a quest for me. It is super easy and takes about a minute total with fast travel. The house rocks!

So Lydia just died in a epic fight against a dragon. I didnt realize til after i quicksaved and didnt want to load an old save for 3 hours ago. Im all alone now, but i have this horse called Frost. However, Frost tends to suddenly charge in on the enemy and start killing them all lol. Earlier today it came while fighting a dragon and tanked it for 10 minutes while i killed it. Anybody else have this "problem" ? Got the horse early in the game during a quest.

I'm pretty sure companions only die if the main character kills them, which means you killed her. You're evil. :[

I'm using the caster follower you get from this quest. She summons minions and uses quite powerful spells, don't think she has died once either as I gave her full Dragonbone armour and she has pretty much soloed dragons among other things.

Also your followers definitely power up as you level but I don't think they unlock new skills etc.
Edit: Also make sure to return the star to the same person that gave you the quest (Aranea) rather than Nelacar or no follower.

Currently lvl 8 (soon to be 9) and I'm looking for some neat 1hands, but every merchant I've gone to only sell stuff worse than what I already have =(. Is there any vendor that can sell me some uber swords for a large sum of gold coins, or perhaps I can create something through blacksmithing?
Thanks in advance

I saw her kneeling down early on in the fight, but the next time I checked on her she was very dead.
So I went back and picked up the archer elf dude again. At least he can ground dragons for me so I can whack them to death. =/
