customizing stuff is nice but people need to stop calling that an rpg element it's a tactics/strategy element in a game unless it's cosmetics.

Korea/Japan can activate their game in 3hours Origin says. -_- So how was that ftw if you still can't play it? You can download the whole Game with DLCs etc per torrent and just need to wait for a crack. So you can preload all that crap like with any steam or origin, ofc the difference is being a cheapo or not.

The proxy server Barburas posted didn't work (no offense, origin just gave me this weird error message). After a few minutes of trying servers, this one worked for me: 27.101.112.11 8080

So I'm at work after 7 hours of playing, 40 mins sleep, and a 10 minute shower.
Totally worth it.
Could nitpick here and there, but I'm totally loving this game. Can't wait to get back to saving the galaxy. Except I have to meet my damn girlfriend.... >.<

just tell her you have to play mass effect. She will understand.

having played this a few hours i am quite pleased
me3 spoilers + Show Spoiler +love the hanar quest, my god that jellyfish is dumb

I'm 10 hours in and have a ton of fun. Bioware did a fine job so far! Its so awesome to see your own choices from the first two games come into one conclusion.

thanks alot sir worked fine for me (in canada) time to play :D

Overrated Effect 3. The game has lost its soul so it can be mass marketed just to sell more copys. Not a fan of that or day 1 DLC. ME3 is a pile of trash.

It's ok if you want to support dodgy business practices but don't complain when it becomes standard procedure because everyone just lets it happen.

I'm not really a fan of DLC, but I'm not upset about this one. It's a freebie for people that bought the CE, and available day one to everyone else.

Have you watched TotalBiscuit's video? He pretty much nails why this is a terrible, exploitative move (though he discounts the equally-bad possibility of it being a terrible, stupid gimmick). The fact that it's a launch DLC is most of the problem. They spent time, money and resources to create this piece of content that won't be available to someone who goes to the store and buys Mass Effect 3. They're selling you, in effect, an incomplete product. (This situation is a little bit different than the ME2 launch DLC, which incentivized consumers to buy a new copy rather than a used one. That's acceptable, since a new copy is still complete.)
What's the endpoint? Street Fighter Cross Tekken is shipping with a DLC on the disc that requires payment to unlock. Is that upsetting enough?

Payment to unlock something on the disc you're purchasing is BS, and one of many reasons why I won't be buying that game (mostly I don't care for the genre). I'm not crazy about day one DLC (I think DLC in general is usually utter BS), but this particular instance doesn't bother me.

I don't get why DLC gets all the this hate. A few years ago, if I could have downloaded a few extra levels of Sonic or some cool dungeon for FFVII you can bet your ass I would have been begging my parents for that shit. DLC just means that companies can devote more resources to releasing additional content for their games. Granted, some DLC is crap, but you don't have to buy it. On the other hand, some DLC (like Shadow Broker and Arrival) are well deserving of our money imo.
Granted, day 1 dlc feels like a slap in the face, but when you hear that a whole different dev team made it, it makes sense. EA needs to justify hiring those extra people somehow, and in the end it means we get more content. Meh, the whole complaining about dlc thing belongs in /r/firstworldproblems if you ask me.

It makes sense until you see that the DLC content was in the script that was leaked 4 months ago.

This is a video games forum. Pardon me if I'm not talking about serious and weighty matters. And really, no one did ask you. If it's beneath you, move on. I'm sure you have a world to be saving, or starving orphans to feed or something.
It doesn't matter than a different development team made it. When you buy a copy off the shelf, you're buying an incomplete game. That's not acceptable.

Played a few hours now, the gameplay has improved a ton. Just about everything I disliked is now amazing. Not completely sold on the story yet but so far it looks like it can at least match up to ME2
Character spoiler: + Show Spoiler +So edi is now a companion... did not see that coming.

It makes sense until you see that the DLC content was in the script that was leaked 4 months ago. Tiered service is a common practice in a lot of services. DLC is popular with games because they make games a shit ton more profitable, when you're spending 60m+ developing a game and then how ever more promoting it your profit margins aren't that great if you sell or ton or change the price and sense everyone gets all up in arms if a regular version costs the same. They sell 1-10 dollar dlc's in that impulse buy range. The cost of development is up yet the price of games is way down when you adjust for inflation at least in the us market.
If you want bitch about being price gouged on bitch about the cost of your internet and how much you pay for cable, those are the two parts of the entertainment/media industry that have the highest profit margins by far far far. Again US market
