Also you can't import a face designed in ME1 into ME3. People on the forums are, understandably, extremely pissed off.

That's essentially what is being done, the idea that you should get all content on the disk is quite archaic considering the move to services like steam and origin where a disk necessarily isn't there. Does it stop being wrong when there are no more game systems and disks? when it's all though server emulation or downloaded service?

Watch that first. The standard, buy-off-the-shelf version, or even the standard digital download version, is not complete. It's exactly the same as buying a car that has no seats, and then being told that seats are extra. Or watching a movie with the middle ten minutes completely cut out unless you pay extra. Or reading a book with a chapter torn out. Or... There are a lot of appropriate analogies, some more and some less dramatic. It stops being wrong when companies start releasing complete, functional products. Bioware hasn't for several years now.

To me it makes absolutely zero difference whether the DLC is floating out on the Internet somewhere, on an actual disc in a game box, or waiting patiently for months on a few hard drives before being released out into the wild. It's a huge logical fallacy to compare on-disc DLC to a car missing necessary features; it's much more similar to paying for additional toppings on a pizza. Those toppings were in the kitchen along with all the other ingredients you were supposed to get, but access is behind a paywall. The game is not unplayable without DLC, but it might taste better with the DLC. Or it might not.

Yes, it enhances the story a little bit by providing some more background info, and it's cool, but it certainly doesn't change the story much at all, and it's not a big deal if you don't have it. And yes, I have the downloadable content (got a digital deluxe) and yes I've seen what it contains in game.

No, it's more like buying a car, and then being told that you can choose to pay extra to have the ability to start the car remotely and turn the heat on when you aren't in the car yet so it's nice and warm when you get into it, or that you can choose to pay extra to get a durable coating over the hood to protect it from rocks in the road that get kicked up.

If you care at all about the universe (and it's pretty clear IMO that Bioware doesn't) then yeah, it's pretty important.

The universe of mass effect has always been done well, it's the actual plot itself that's often undertold or full of holes, hell the collectors just seem like a filler episode between mass effect 1 and 3, doesn't mean the stories of the individual characters and the atmosphere didn't seem spot on because i sure didn't mind.

It should be somewhere like: "C:\Users\___\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\(charname)_(level)_(class)_(date)" edit: fixed per below post, added class field edit2: example: "C:\Users\___\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\Jenna_30_Soldier_022012\Save_0001.pcsav"

Well you also need to put it in a folder for it to be exactly the same for example the format for the folder Name_12_Class_Datecreated Which becomes German_12_Vanguard_050210

Ok so far it isn't working. Here is what I have done. Made a folder in Documents/BioWare named Mass Effect 2 then put a Save folder in there so it looks like Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect 2/Save Then I renamed the save file below: Jenna_30_Soldier_022012 Name Jenna Shepard Date Added 2012-02-20 02:15:34 Gender / Alignment Female Paragon Level / Class 30 Soldier The file reads: C:\Users\________\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\Jenna_30_Soldier_022012.pcsav Still not showing up ![]()

Edit: UGH. Apparently if you imported your character from ME1 to ME2 (which is the only way I have ever done) the face code cannot be transferred to ME3 and you have to recreate your face manually... http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_360_games/l_o/masseffect3/f/337/p/216210/1120915.aspx#1120915 Sounds like bioware was answering questions about this before release, which means they most likely cannot resolve the problem.
