Maybe having Roy out has almost been a blessing for the Blazers (dare I say it..)?

The Lakers have the combination of offense, defense and size that has been shown to be successful in the postseason. While they've been very inconsistent, they still look a tier above the rest when they're playing the right way and focused, which I'm confident Phil will have them doing by the postseason. The Spurs have been very impressive in the regular season and have some nice depth. Only concern would be whether Duncan still has enough to anchor what I consider to be just an okay frontcourt rotation otherwise (Blair = unproven in postseason, undersized and still young; McDyess = getting pretty old and production has continued dip that started last season; Bonner = good for stretching offenses and little else; Splitter = unproven, hasn't shown much so far, probably needs another season to acclimate to the NBA game). Their backcourt is as good as any team's with Parker, Manu, Hill and Neal all playing quite well this season, but we haven't seen a team that is carried so much by its backcourt win a championship in a while.

I don't think that the Spurs can deal with Pau-Bynum-Odom (unless Tim Duncan finds the fountain of youth) , plus Mr.Kobe Bean Bryant (the playoff version). If they can bring the corpse of Ron Artest back to life they have a way to deal with Manu, so other than Parker going berserk and score 45 points a game in the hole series (it could happen if they try to guard him with fisher to much, but i¡m pretty sure that Kobe will end up defending parker) the Lakers would be going to the Finals a 4th straight year.

The back court matchups for the spurs are going to be an offensive powerhouse in the postseason with this spiral effect. They might be screwed in the front court, and pau might eat them alive, but i still have faith in Timmy D to eat more minutes during the playoffs, and with 4 other people to give hard fouls they arent in as deep of a hole as it seems. Boston's back court of Allen/Rondo gave the Lakers a hard time and they managed. If the Lakers play good team defense as they are known to do when they give a shit it might be more even than we think.

Of course i think Matt Barnes will play a huge part in defending Manu, and giving Kobe a break.

I like the Spurs, but come Playoffs time the Lakers will and should be favourites in any series IMO. I know they've been erratic this year but they'll turn up for sure.

Does anyone remember the Lou Holtz motivational speech to the Knicks from a few years ago? I really want to watch it again but can't find it anywhere. It appears ESPN has taken it down from their website. Does anyone know where I can see it?
