LoL...blake griffin is only reason why LA fans are excited about clippers, the guy is sick good. He even made Baron Davis start trying again lol.

@wusslee I agree, its like the first half they play awesome, then the 2nd half comes and it is time for fingernail biting. But I am hoping this is just the start and are able to play 48 minutes of ball.

About the playoffs tho... :|...would be awesome but I get the feeling their poor start is too much to come back from in the West, but maybe ill be wrong :|

It's a great thing seeing all the moves Orlando made pay off. Richardson is finally getting into a groove and the entire team looks rejuvenated. I love the competition in the east this year. You have 5 teams (MIA, ORL, CHI, ATL, BOS) that can legitimately have a shot at the finals. Been a long time since that has ever happened.

And how about Baron Davis? I mean everyone goes on about how good Blake is. And yea, he is a beast. But they've really been rolling since Baron stepped his game up. In the last 10 games (where LA has gone 7-3), he's averaging 13 pts, 8 asts, and almost 1 three/blk/stl per game on 46% shooting. And those numbers have been increasing the last couple of games.

As long as he keeps this up the clippers are going to have a great season the rest of the way. Too bad they don't have much of a shot at the playoffs. They would need (at the bare minimum) about 42 wins. Realistically need about 45. They would need (at the bare minimum) a record of 29-16 the rest of the way. It isn't impossible though. Just ridiculously unlikely.

I do think they could get close to .500 on the season though. Unless Chris Kaman comes back and Vinny chooses to put him back in the starting lineup. He's a net negative for the team. With davis finding his offensive touch, they don't need another scorer. Deandre Jordan is much better for that teams starting lineup. His defensive presence and offensive rebounding is way more useful than Chris Crapman ever will be.

ya ORL is looking really good even better then 09 team that made it to the finals Turk is such a good fix with what the magic try to do. Baron Davis man he's so fucking talented I still remember when he smashed on my favorite PG of all time Tim Hardaway, but BD is slacking in his conditioning. BG needs to be on All Star team its a damn shame if he ain't. I can't think of any PF playing better then Blake this season. They should really look into trading Kaman DeAndre Jordan has shown that he's a perfect fit with Eric Gordon and BG. I think the Clippers can make the playoffs the west ain't as deep as last year when the thunder got the 8th spot with what 52 wins? or was it 50 i forgot right now the Grizzles got the 8th spot with a 462% Clips at 351%, but the way the Clips been playing I think they should be flirting with 500% by the end of season BG is just 2 good

playoffs for the Clips is still a pipe dream this season, West is still deeper than the East and the cutoff will be at least .500, even if Denver slips after Melo trade, Memphis will be there and I expect Phoenix to improve

This Orlando team definitely doesn't look better than the 09 team. They are winning games because of a soft schedule and everyone else being banged up. I have 0 faith in this team during the playoffs.

I'm not sold on the Clipper hype because:

A.) They are a terrible road team.

B.) Baron Davis only plays well when the crowd is into the game

C.) They still need a bench.

Other than that I'm 100% sold on Eric Gordon. The second half of his rookie year when I started paying attention to him I said he is going to be a complete monster. Blake Griffin of course needs no further hype.

Speaking of last night Baron Davis wasn't the reason the Clippers won imo if you're looking at their best point guard on the floor. It was Eric Bledsoe. He played some out of his mind defense on Chalmers and even Wade on 2 possessions.

Orlando isn't a serious contender. It's the same nonsense with Dwight being surrounded by a bunch of shooters. The only real improvement is Bass, but Dwight and Bass alone can't beat the Celtics, and we all know how the Celtics defend the 3. They're just a great regular season team, much like the Suns of recent years.

I concur about Orlando not being a serious contender. Add Atlanta (lol, who seriously thinks they could do any damage in the Playoffs?!) and I'm not entirely sold on Chicago yet either. I like the Bulls, but I still think they're a tad too streaky to take Miami/Boston in a 7 game series. They're kinda stuck between Orlando and Bos/Miami for me.

With Bynum back and firing the Lakers are looking a class ahead in the West again. They're a pretty intimidating side with Gasol and Bynum in the middle.

The season is slowly developing into a three-horse-race for me: Bos/Miami/LA. You have a few teams on the fringe like SA, Chicago, Dallas, OKC and Orlando, but if I reckon any of these teams would have to have a pretty amazing run to take the title.

Agree with the Bos/Miami/LA sentiment.

Atlanta is so garbage. Please just rewatch last year's playoffs to see how pathetic they all are. Giving up before the 3rd quarter, completely gassing out on any defensive plays, mike bibby as pg [ should I go on? ] It's basically the same players playing the same level as they did last year in the regular season. Sure they will make the playoffs but then what.

Also boozer needs to up his D [!!!!] and noah needs to fit back in well for them to affect the playoffs.

Bos/Mia/LA sounds right to me, with maybe ORL but I have not seen their defense since the trade but they might have a shot as well. And to Ace, the Spurs might have a better record but come playoffs, they don't really a true center or enough big men to match up with the Lakers, which is so critical in the playoffs. They might a good regular season but I think that is about it unless they make a trade for more big men or Splitter gets it going (I have never seen his play).

Seeing them go 7 games against a Milwaukee team with no Bogut, rookie Brandon Jennings and a hot streak John Salmons did it for me. I have 0 faith in Atlanta because Joe Johnson just doesn't have "it".

McDyess/Duncan/Blair is more than enough to battle the Laker bigs. I'm never sold on Andrew Bynum even when he's 100% because honestly he's average at best.

The Lakers unfortunately have to contend with that Spurs bench in the playoffs that finally has some experience. Still I wouldn't be shocked to see the Lakers beat them. It's the first time in 4 years the Lakers really, truly have legit competition in the West.

That's baloney, Bynum at 100% is an absolute beast, and has shown as much in spurts every season these past few years. He just sometimes lacks the effort and always gets hurt.

What?

He's had a 13.1ppg/10.2 rpg season in which he only managed 25 games.

He's had a 15.0ppg/8.3rpg season with 65 games. So by his best season how does that equal being a beast? He's a role player, not an All-Star.

In spurts, I said in spurts. If you've paid attention to some of the games he dominated in, you would have seen his potential.

He's also in the same team with Kobe, Gasol and Odom, and is 4th best option on offense by design. I hope you've watched basketball long enough to realize you don't argue about this sport with just numbers.

um even role players have really good games. Just because he's the 4th option doesn't mean he's good. If he was THAT good he'd be a better player. He isn't.

J.R. Smith, Emeka Okafur and Brandon Jennings all explode for dominant games once in a while. That's also exactly why they are not All-Stars.

your logic looks backwards. when you are the 4th option, most of the time you aren't good. my argument is that he's still very good despite being the 4th option on the team

If he was THAT good he'd be a better player. He isn't.

this sentence makes no sense

J.R. Smith, Emeka Okafur and Brandon Jennings all explode for dominant games once in a while. That's also exactly why they are not All-Stars.

if your way of judging a good player is to see whether he makes All-Stars, then I guess you'll have to eat your words come February. On the other hand, those who know the game, such as NBA scouts, look beyond numbers and awards and judge them by actually watching them play, and that's how I know Bynum is a very good center as long as he's healthy
