what you guys think? It has to be like, a 12 team league because that is a terrible lineup for Roto or H2H points. Seriously if you get Lebron with you're first pick and #2 has to be Duncan/West that means you had to wait a ton of spots, got back to back picks and then ended up in the what, Tony Parker/Jeff Green pool? @Holcan: how did you manage to get Iggy and Gerald Wallace? 2 high level glue guys that shoulda been snagged in like, the same round. I've picked up K-love in both of my roto leagues. Gonna be a sweet ride ^_^. Also have both J.J. Hickson and Roy Hibbert as my upside picks in both leagues.
My league was auto-pick, and they are right beside each other, and i was first pick, so first pick durant, wait out 18 picks until i get to go again, which is Iggy, then go again instantly as first pick, Wallace, thats how i was gifted elite rebounder Noah, and looter in a riot Troy Murphy as well.

Hey guys,
I'm a relatively NBA newb (only started following it again a couple years ago after a lot of years hiatus), but I'm playing fantasy with some friends. Any general statements about my Fantasy team? Be nice (I could've gotten Kobe first pick but got Dirk instead, is this as huge of a blunder as I think it is?)
PG - Steve Nash SG - Monta Ellis SF - Josh Smith PF - Dirk Nowitzki C - Tim Duncan G - Stephen Jackson F - David West UTIL - Joakim Noah UTIL - Rashard Lewis UTIL - Caron Butler
BE - Andrew Bogut BE - J.R. Smith BE - Jameer Nelson
It's a 6-person league. Thanks in advance

I'm looking forward to jeremy lin and whether the t-wolves have the worst record
Darko might be ok. I think Beas will have a good year for the T-Wolves. I definitely don't think the wolves will be the worst team. I expect them to be at least 4th worst. ESPN Power rankings have T-Wolves ahead of the Nets, Raptors, Kings and Pistons. I wouldn't be too surprised if they also finish ahead of the Cavs. I'm no NBA expert though.
I'd definitely join a TL Fantasy league if someone sets it up.

For your move with Kobe, no Dirk was a fine choice, especially since you got Monta Ellis as your starting SG. Steve Nash should be near the top of the list for assists, Tim Duncan was amazing for me last year, Stephen Jackson works hard, as with Joakim Noah, so you should see solid stat lines from both of them throughout the year. J.R. Smith will frustrate you, so dont follow him live, Jameer Nelson is a great last pick, although for a 6 person league, im not totally sure, he may have minutes moved over to Duhon and you may want to drop him for another person. Overall you have a solid team, if its H2H you will be lacking blocked shots and steals, (Monta should make up for this a bit) but you should have plenty of 3ball, a good FG% (except maybe JR if he takes bad shots), a decent FT% and okay rebounding numbers. Your blocked shots will hurt until Bogut gets healthy again, then you may be able to do good in that category as well as long as you dont go up against McGee and Howard on the same team. Very well rounded team that doesnt stand out in one category and lack tons in another (except maybe blocked shots) you should do okay.

Thanks a lot, Holcan. I forgot to mention it's H2H

Can't wait for the first game of the season!

@Panaroma: for a 6 person league you are missing a ton of the best PGs and I think you're going to get blown away
Jameer Nelson is honestly, a 6th-7th tier point guard and Nash is a second tier PG in fantasy so you'll suffer mightily with steals and assists since Nash alone won't be able to bleed points out assists. That said if this is H2H Points and not H2H Roto you don't have enough monster players that'll carry you.
If I'm playing H2H Points I aim for Double/Double, high FGA/FTA players. Basically guys that score a ton (any top scorer, Zach Randolph, David Lee types, Kevin Martin), get tons of points,3s and assists or rebounds (Rondo, Monta Ellis, CP3, Kevin Love) or dominate a lot of categories even though they won't score a ton (Igoudala, Tyreke Evans sort of).
In H2H Points you just want aggregate totals and people putting up monster numbers. FG% and FT% don't matter in that format so players like Tim Duncan (now), Rashard Lewis and Caron Butler aren't great for that format. In a 6 player league you should have really just picked up 3 of the top 10 PGs (Cp3, D-will, Rondo, Steph Curry top 4) and just gobbled up all the monster PFs and Centers that get you DDs. The good thing is you've got a few in Noah and Bogut but in a 6 person league that won't be enough to survive.
If you're league is doing H2H Roto I think you're even worse off because in assists, steals and 3s you're going to get swamped.
Hopefully I'm wrong and you somehow do well but besides FG% and Blocks I don't see you're team doing well enough in any other categories.

rondo is the shit. heat look awkward, and dwade seems hesitant. still cool to see those 3 on the same team.
|
4 assists in the first quarter: This is why I tried to KILL for Rondo in every league I'm in. People wisened up to his ability this year though. Last year you coulda drafted him in the 4th round and laughed your way to the title. This year he's going in the second round, and early if people get the chance.
|
yeah rondo is such a beast. his ability to make plays is amazing.
and yeah, heat doesn't look very coordinated at all. i guess they'll develop that throughout this season though
|
Allen isn't shooting well to start the game. LeBron and Wade look a little strange together, which I guess is to be expected since they didn't really get to play together in the preseason.
|
wow. MIA cant even make it to double digits, stuck at 9 points 4/17 FG LOL!! I don't care how rusty they are or whatever, that's fucking embarrassing
|
Whoever opened this thread T_T
Anway Wade is crab dribbling and way off his game.
|
Miami is getting roughed up, I love it
|
It's beautiful how deep Celts are now. Hope they stay healthy.

Thanks for the input, Ace. We are doing H2H in these cats:
FG%, FT%, 3PM, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO, PTS (these were default categories, besides TO which was added)
I had fifth pick and CP3 and Dwill were taken, and I wasn't sure how Steve Nash compared to Rondo and Stephen Curry, so I just went with what I thought to be a safe pick.
I think my biggest concern was not having anyone who would truly dominate for me, i.e. some people in my league have like Bron/Kobe together, with really solid backups, Durant/rondo together, etc.

does anyone have a stream for the celtics heat game right now?
|
9 points first quarter by the Superfriends

Lol, Heat is getting schooled.
