I am fucking blown away how much detail is put into this game. Holy fucking shit. I'm so glad I have no classes this summer. 3 months dedicated to GW2.

That having been said, I heard that the PvP system was like WoW tourney realm? With free max level toons and gear standarization? However, having watched almost all of the class and mechanic videos on youtube, I can't wait to get my hands on this game! If it ends up being a solid pvp experience, I'd love to add my mmo pvp experience to the TL arsenal.

There's plenty of abilities that control the engagement, both offensively and defensively with forms of CC and manipulating the environment, there are cast time spells but you can cast while moving -- in fact most spells have cast times or swing times. Also, BFF report/Gamebreaker.tv again. Just because it's fucking awesome.

By arena functionality, I mean no 3v3 deathmatch. The only competitive mode is node control. Which is fine, I guess, since it allows tank specs to be viable. In terms of CC, its a far less CC-heavy environment from WoW. Only one class has fear, and I didn't see too many polymorph/cyclone dynamics when checking out the classes. In a node-control style pvp environment this is less important tho, since locking down someone will be less important. Casting while moving feels sorta... meh to me, unless there's enough accessable interrupts. The "dodge" system looks pretty fantastic, especially if there's enough of a skillcap to dodge important abilities, etc. I'm excited, but I think a large amount of the GW community vastly overestimates their skill level in MMO PvP (this coming from the GW2 PvP forums)

However it's handled less like WoW's crappy system and more like a MOBA where they aren't spammable and aren't of insane durations. Without stupid strong healing capabilities you don't need to have stupid strong CCs to have ccs be important. Stuns and CCs are fine (the complaints about losing control of your character are silly). WoW's combat is just boring and flat to begin with.
