Sneijder was great for Holland and amazing for Inter Xavi/Iniesta were both amazing for Barca and Spain, Xavi was better @ Barca but Iniesta was better at the WC.

Honestly, if any of those mentioned names get it, I won't be complaining. They all did so well last year.

Traditionally its going to be a world champion, which is bit weird because Spains title relies on teamship like none before. Hence, i guess it will be Xavi. To the point of individuals looked at last year, it should be Sneijder, Messi or Schweinsteiger, although Messi played a mediocre World Cup, but he is just insane as an individual. Especially Schweinsteigers improvement was impressive at the least, where must be said i hate Bayern Munich, and he was my personally most disliked player in german national team when on the wings because he simply doesnt belong there, but now, awesome.

Spain relies on teamship?
Without Casillas and Villa they wouldnt even have made it out of the group.
Spanish players suck at goal scoring - thats why Villa is so important.

Yeah Villa's goals were all individual super strikes. And Chile would have drawn vs Spain without Casillas.
Did you watch the WC? Or did you miss the Spanish "team" being defeated by Switzerland (a game where Spain got a shitload of extra time and ref being nice towards Spain with their calls).

yes, villa's goal against chile was such an unbelievable piece of skill (have you actually ever stood on a football ground? ) and did you miss spains game against germany, tactically and therefor teamwise the best team performance of the whole tournament?
which doenst mean spain stomped chile (which they obviously didnt), chile not coming further than round of 16 was a shame regarding their great performance. but still they lost against the best team in tournament, not the best individuals.
just compare spain and argentina - one the one side, argueably the best offensive individuals in the world, on the other side, well, world champions.

Don't make me laugh, that was Switzerland vs Spain. Kroos would have scored vs any other keeper in the world resulting in a 1-0 win for Germany.
But thats not my point, without Villa and Casillas there wouldnt even have been a Germany vs Spain.

That's because they always bench Fabregas

On October 30 2010 01:09 Azza wrote:That's because they always bench Fabregas might be true, but i tend to think, there is not much of an alternative. Fabregas is a attacking Central Midfielder, and with Iniesta and Xavi (both Central Midfielders) at the shape they're in right now, and Busquets which you need to field (or another Defensive Midfielder who can play in front of central backs) you run out of space in Central Midfield. Dismissing the player before central backs looks like suicide, letting Xavi or Iniesta play there doesnt come up with their potential. Dismissing Xavi or Iniesta doesnt make that much sense taking in concern that their harmony is great, especially for them when the more barca players on field the better. Dragging Xavi or Iniesta on wing hasnt worked that well, as they tend to swing in centre, and also there are better wingers out there.
Thats what i would call a luxury problem

Man Utd and Tottenham are both playing well, nice game so far.

lol was that goal actually legal? or it was another Old Trafford effect?
|
Definitely the Old Trafford Effect.
Nani dived, touched the ball with his hand. The ref played the advantage to Spurs. Nani comes back and shoots it in. (No advantage thus should be a free kick for Spurs)
Assistant Referee says that, Ref is actually a good ref but his pride got the best of him and proceeds to ignore what happened.
Edit:
I don't think it would have mattered anyways but still a shitty way to finish an otherwise good game. VDV was out. Bale is obviously having trouble with one of his thighs (probably a groin problem) and manchester was playing slightly better in the second half.
I don't know what will happen, but Nani should get punished for his constant diving. I mean he makes Ronaldo look like a freaking tank with his diving and constant bitching. I wish somebody would smack that smirk off his face after the 2nd goal.

I find myself saying fuck you allegri again and again.
And I wish Maicon would get the balon but I know he won't.
