Definitely the Old Trafford Effect.
Nani dived, touched the ball with his hand. The ref played the advantage to Spurs.
Nani comes back and shoots it in. (No advantage thus should be a free kick for Spurs)
Assistant Referee says that, Ref is actually a good ref but his pride got the best of him and proceeds to ignore what happened.
Edit:
I don't think it would have mattered anyways but still a shitty way to finish an otherwise good game. VDV was out. Bale is obviously having trouble with one of his thighs (probably a groin problem) and manchester was playing slightly better in the second half.
I don't know what will happen, but Nani should get punished for his constant diving. I mean he makes Ronaldo look like a freaking tank with his diving and constant bitching. I wish somebody would smack that smirk off his face after the 2nd goal.

I'm gonna watch the replay again but Nani was clearly being pulled inside the box so it should've been a penalty even if it wasn't an honest fall. I didn't see any handball or hear the whistle blow. I've also never seen advantage given to the goalkeeper, if Nani did commit a foul, the ref would have blown the whistle instantly and stopped play, there's no possible advantage to be gained by letting play continue. The commentator said the assistant ref raised his flag for offside which makes zero sense. When Gomes placed the ball down, the United midfield were signaling for Nani to shoot, so it looked like Gomes' mistake rather than the ref's.
Edit: Ok I watched it again, Nani did grab the ball after he fell down so yes it should have been handball and a freekick to Gomes but neither the linesman or the ref stopped play so the goal was legal. Gomes dropped the ball before he was sure whether it was a freekick or not, the ref didn't say anything or blow his whistle so he can't really blame anyone but himself.
