I wonder how they will deal with lagg deaths in HC mode. In D2 you could drop instantly from games right? Even had this program that would instantly leave the game if you got into a dangerous spot

Disconnecting was the worst nightmare for all us hc players. There as an option "Save and Exit". Most of the deaths in hc weren't saveable by that anyways, being instant deaths.

Haha, pretty much. Some players would use bots to auto disconnect before any attack that would kill them would land... but that is basically cheating.

People still sell the accounts and they might end up doing the emails getting a second beta-key thing again like in SC2.

The reason I think Blizzard is going the way it is going with graphics is for the millions of similiar stories like mine:
I grew playing around Halo, Warcraft and then finally World of Warcraft from the ages of around 13-19. All these games have had "cartoonish" graphics and have sold virally through the world. These games spoke to us teenagers because of the eye catching details such as what we see on the movie screens now. Everything now is about the glitz and glamour, the world is changing and wanting more bang for the buck and the companys realize this, imprinting it into our dna more like.
So why would they stop a successful forumula?

Gonna play the crap out of this when it comes out, D1 and D2 made up most of my gaming, can't wait for 3. Even if it doesn't look that much like the originals, they're gonna get my money anyway <: hopefully my marks won't drop too badly.

Man it makes me a little sad knowing I might now be able to experience things like this anymore... I remember playing diablo offline at the age of what ? like 10? playing on the only house computer at night.. running away from the computer from time to time because I was getting too scared... Those were some good times..

Playing Diablo 2 at lan with friends was awesome. Ladder play was equally fun.

High likely hood if they sell their account, It has a chance of being flagged by Blizzard( or report to Blizzard). And consequently the account could be frozen.

As soon as you lag you press it and you are safe. Save and Exit does not work immediately. You had to master alt+F4 as a hc-player because the server were so laggy(atleast Europe was/is, spikes to 2000 ping were the norm due to duping), no shame in using it. I did not die once to lag in years with alt+f4.
And apart from Diablo on normal I can't remember anything that could kill you instantly, except tppk, which was fixed.
Diablo on norm after a reset was always a nice way to see who knows the game and who just bought items with money/donated gold via jsp and was rushed all the time. Way too many retards died @ Dia because they underestimated him, happens when you don't know the game.
€ Thinking about it there actually was a way to commit suicide instantly: that lightning+other element enchanted bug.

Agreed, The HC players that never died all had very very fast Alt+F4 skills. I remember doing Alt+F4 when i suspected a lag spike in a crowded zone, and then when logging back discovering that my charactere died. Happened to me several times, after that you immediaatly alt+f4 when you sense danger

i remember spending 48 hours lan at some friend's house to finish d2 game but we fail on the last difficulty badly.
i think i am gonna need more than 48 hours for d3. 480 hours should be fine

This is pretty much what made me stay away and what continues to keep me away from HC. All it take is some shitty lag or unfortunate disconnect...
