Clear out trash, kite elites for 3 minutes until they die, skip them if they have an especially nasty set of abilities, make easy millions -> spend millions to get more gear that'll allow you to still kite.
My barb/monk buddies just get eaten alive even though they're much better geared, so if I play multiplayer inferno I'm carrying them because they keep dying and it takes even longer to kill stuff.
This game has a lot of potential but the inferno difficulty is BS. It's cheap, and "hard" in a boring, artificial way. I've been playing this since release and I'm extremely disappointed with the so-called endgame. Gathering gear can't be pleasant in the slightest, it's just a gross, disgusting grind.
Imo the game is worth $60, I just wish the endgame didn't suck so much. how exactly do you want them to do it? Hey I'm not a game designer, if I gave my opinion would you ask me to mod it into the game too? I don't think I'm the one with a solution anyway, some things just suck. I expect more from Blizzard (well not really anymore). I'm filthy rich considering how much I've played, because I subjugated myself to kiting uni-dimensional bullshit packs of trash mobs. There's a huge gap between me and the people I know because I happened to choose the "right" class. Either way, trash is going to get old so maybe they'll catch up. I'm wondering though, are you suggesting it's fine as it is? I mean, you're allowed to like kiting all day, maybe that's your thang. if you arent kiting that means either (1) you are able to kill them with no effort (i.e., you kill them before they can get to you), or (2) you are able to tank all their damage. as a wizard or demon hunter, if you are able to do (1) or (2), the game is incredibly stupid. i sometimes level my brothers in normal/nightmare with my level 60 character, and its no fun at all. obviously this is different for team dynamics since you will have melee + ranged players. if you are complaining about there not being adequate gear for barb/monks to not get one-shotted then i am with you. if you are complaining because they cant just sit there for days getting wailed on then i am not with you. diablo is so easy. people should have to put some thought into how they are going to approach bosses and what skills are best. Every class should be able to solo inferno ( blizz even said they strive to have this). Wizard and demon hunter should each be tanks and dps on their own, basically an all rounded character. But as it stands in inferno, only the classes that manage not to get hit survive, and the melee classes just die. imo a wiz/DH shouldn't be a beast tank ( like you say) but they def should be able to take some damage. i thought the whole idea of inferno was that its fucking impossible to beat. its for the people who like to grind and grind and grind to get the .00000001% of the items that will actually allow the impossible to happen.
if the gear/skillset isnt there to allow all characters to do beat inferno then i am with you guys that its stupid. however, if you are saying you dont want to grind to get the appropriate gear. well, then the game ends at hell like the first two diablos.
this is the first diablo where i feel it is a challenge to beat it because inferno is insane. the first two were easy and i could beat it playing casually.

My view is they made Inferno out to be too much of a natural progression rather than a 'stay in Hell until you're a boss, then try this bonus stage' like the Pandemonium Events were in D2. Inferno's doable if you have crazy gear, and you should be expected to have to farm for it - but the other problem is you have to farm for Inferno gear to do it, which is ridiculous. It's really a design issue with A2 that makes it a colossal roadblock tbh, since you can pass A3 with A3 gear.

i dont see the problem when you can tank some mobs.
Then the difficulty will be to kill them as fast as possible, like...you know.... Hack and Slash games do that sometimes.
making not dying the difficulty vs making fast and efficient farming the difficulty.

Having reactive / skillful evades on every class against instakill stuff while no proper evade against stuff that deals some of your hp constantly? You'd complain that they were turning the game into WoW then. WoW is actually a good game, all they'd need to do is make it faster-paced, everything instakilling with basic attacks isn't a good solution imo

The challenge is different for each class. And I don't care that kiting shows difficulty, after 4 minutes dragging a mob around, I really wish he'd have just died 3 minutes ago. What is your dps? About 32k without sharpshooter, 47k with (not that it matters, but people tend to give that figure). I was going to make a comment on the lines of 'hurr no enough dps if you kite so long' but honestly I don't know what DH dps is supposed to look like. So, uh, I guess you could use some more for Inferno. Sure, but it'll still be boring.

If your argument is that the 'kiting stuff around' period is too long and dull, then having better gear solves that.
If, however, your argument is that killing mobs is dull, then, well, Diablo kind of falls flat.

Attempted to kite the birds(horde arcane) somewhere out of the way and then this happened. At times like these, I like to laugh to myself while leaving the game out of frustration.
