So this "augment legendary item" thing. How does that work? seems to require a bunch of gems! :o
When should I use it? only on items that are BiS I guess, and not likely to be replaced?

It consumes a legendary gem to add main stat to an item. +5 per level of the legendary gem.
The type of Flawless Royal gem used determines the stat (I believe)
And yes it is only something you want to do on (nigh) perfect items.

Its another infinity progression path alongside paragon levels.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

The "require gem lvl 30", does that mean that you need at least a level 30 gem, but you can put higher, and you'll get more stat?

Also a bit disappointing that the two endless things stack in addition rather than multiplicatively.

ice or fire as marauder cluster ? i do like the ice 2% health regen, but seems to me that fire could do more damage ? idk

Cold or if survivability is absolutely no issue physical. Cold is slightly better against trash as you shoot one more rocket (buffed by ballistics) whereas physical hits slightly harder against single targets.

Ran a pair of grift 50's yesterday to finish my leg gem collection. Last two to drop? Trapped and Stricken... both gems needed for my build of course.

But the game made it up to me by upgrading a rare dagger into a 3k dps ancient dagger of darts. I'm playing Jade though so I'm not sure if this is a gift-worthy piece or not (rolled, damage rng, damage %, near-max int and socket). It's tempting though since I have two gifts atm.

Also, it dropped an ancient Ring of Emptiness (so-so rolls, int/vit/cc/socket) for the last off-set piece I needed.

Cool thanks. I changed some items around and cleared GRift 68 last night using Invoker Punish. Seemed slower than my wiz, but strong still. Doesn't look like it updated but the only difference right now is that I'm using Heart of Iron with cubed Aquila because I can't find a decent Aquila. Lol.

So you only use this build for farming? I tried it once (basically copying top leaderboards) and struggled through 45.

I cleared GR75 with this build (with different shoulder/gloves, ideally with a doombringer). Even though my gear is far from perfect yet, it's definitely stronger than perfectly rolled invokers.
This is how it plays:
Every 16 seconds, convention of elements switches to physical, right before this window you cast iron skin, followed by bombardment. For the rest of the time you just run around and avoid getting hit. To sync up the cooldown perfectly with CoE, you will need about 62-64% CDR. Do not attempt this build until almost all of your pieces are ancient.

For speedrifts, given ~65% CDR and swiftmount, I have permanent steed charge with spiked barding. I just run through the mobs and they will die from the steed dmg. I also 1 shot any rift guardian with bombardment, can easily finish a normal rift under 3 min.

Ahh. Well that bit of info on how to play it will help a lot, but it also sounds like I need to go farm for better gear for that set. The pieces I have for it right now are super basic -- more so than my Invoker set. Haha.

The playstyle for LoN is completely different than invokers. With invokers you are constantly hitting/tanking hits, the LoN build relies heavily on timed combos and dodging attacks. Even though I'm using one, the akarat awakening shield isn't very good for LoN as you generally don't want to be hit by mobs. A better choice is either final witness (swap out consecration for shield glare) or lidless with 20% physical dmg. Coven's Criterion from bounties is also very nice, but I have yet to find an ancient one.

To the DHs here: What builds do you use for lvl 70+ grifts? I really do not want to play solanium spam with 2 others, so a wizard can be the only one to do damage, like is the meta atm (assume blizz will patch that before 2.5.0, since all top teams are WD+monk+barb+wiz with 1 damage dealer).

Atm im paragon 700, playing with full ancient impale set mostly, but I find that it gets really hard above lvl 70, because the trash mobs hurt a lot. The general strat everyone uses 70+ is to skip most trash to find elites, but once we find them, theres always a bunch of trash surrounding the elites, usually pulled in by a tank. This means Impale can't hit the elites most of the time, unless i manage to stand on top of the elite (rarely possible), and then the AOE kills me eventually.

I've tried all the sets so far, got almost full ancient of all of them, and it seems that in lvl 65ish grifts its Impale > marauder > the multishot set > natalyas, but the 73-75 grifts I've done, the only way Ive found has been with marauder, because 5 sentries can give range and defense).

What about CoE + FOK + Greenstone ? That could be a way to get rid of trashmob (or at least enough to impale the elites)

was it ancient? i made 100HF this season, 2 ancients, both useless, out of that only 2 were remotely useful... fml

yesterday, got an ancient withing hour that was uselss and an ancient focus with dex, life on hit and ar or something stupid like that

i did 70 yesterday (12:08) with UE fire, near full ancients with 3 augmentations. i find skipping trash to find elites really hard and wasting a lot of time. you actually found shadow>UE? that's surprising. i've got nearly ancients for all the DH sets, thinking of trying something new as well. if you're doing 73-75 already that's pretty damn good lol

They nerfed greenstone to 100% from 300%, so its not enough damage to kill trash, and would only proc every 30s. If not skipping trash, chakram is probably better, that kills trash pretty quick, and elites at the same time. But overall slower on elites alone, and slow on boss. =\

Edit: Talking about group grifts, if it wasnt clear.

The whole point is to avoid support DH. Its stupid if the only way to do high grifts is 3 supports spamming globes + one DPS wiz with reapers wraps. I understand it for pushing the boundaries of GR95+ etc on leaderboards, but I'm hoping at least GR80 is possible with an actual build.
