If it hadn't been for the general consensus that this build is OP, I'd discard it and go play with a completely different skill combo. Yeah density seems to be pretty important, but he is also 1800+ paragon and he is actually fully flawless royal gem equiped AND ancient weapons he has 19000 int vs 9000 int of yours thats 10000% extra damage Yeah, his sheet dps must be like 3x mine, and then travelers pledge and all the non-sheet DPS rolls. But there is a 30 GR difference between us, which is more than I expected. But OK, I see what you are saying. I'll just go and grind some better gear and paragon levels. hopefully learning the play style in the process.

Apart from what Faruko said, I'd suggest levelling up your gems. I don't think you can push GR60+ with under 40lvl Stricken/Trapped/Esoteric gems.

Some useful info about thorns build:
- Neither steed charge nor Bombardment generate critical hits while the thorns rune is active
- Strength scales with Thorns, and is almost always better than vitality bonus from Heart of the Iron
- CoE is dynamic, it does not snap shot skills
- With the exception of CoE, bombardment dmg is snapshot at cast. This means triggering iron skin in the middle of bombardment does not increase the dmg for the rest of the duration.
- Weapon dmg has no effects on thorn build
- Thorns dmg dealt by reflection from enemy attacks do not trigger bane of striken or area dmg
- Elite dmg buff increases invoker 6pc dmg, making sunkeeper a viable option, but attack speed rules all given the 2pc bonus (hence pig sticker BiS for its high atkspeed and 5 main properties).
- Leg 1H weapon Hack works with 2pc invoker, but not 6pc, making it slightly inferior to pig sticker due to lack of speed.
- Steed Charge deals 8 ticks of dmg over 2 seconds, if you move too fast you might not damage smaller sized enemies, this could be a problem for optimizing speed builds.
For the reasons above, you should:
- Not have CHC/CHD on any gear
- Prioritize Str over Vit
- Prioritize Phys%
- Cast iron skin before bombardment, prior to CoE rotation into physical

Oh god, I knew pretty much none of these things...

I did GR60 and it was fine really, I could go higher. I dunno how much higher, but prolly 1-2 levels higher with ease. At this point in my gear progression I need either Ancient Set items or a REALLY well rolled weapon. Or freaking Ramalaladingdong's gifts. I swear last season both were dropping like candy on my barb farming TX. This season with sader? 3 ancient Light of Akkan Shoulder pieces lel. with 40% CDR and ridiculous block I have Akarat's champion form roughly 80% uptime, sometimes the CD recharges before the form expires. I even found a really nice Hack with STR VIT CDR and rolled area damage on it. I'm going all in on this hack and pledge ammy. If I don't get those rama's gifts I'll never progress because I decided not to roll sockets on both these items. Right now I'm casually rolling through GR50 rifts with 1 hand trying to farm those gifts. Not having Bane of the Stricken neuters you. I would take a socket on the Traveler's Pledge over 200% Phys damage, let alone 16. The other problem your having is probably playstyle. Invokers is terrible at killing trash mobs (except incidentally), but exceptional at taking hits and ignoring everything except the elites that you want dead. Ignore everything except Blues and Yellows and you'll probably shoot up 5 GR levels by doing that alone. Rerolling that phys% into socket was taking up topazes which I didn't have at the time, now I do and have Striken in it. And yes, I do run from yellow/blue mob to yellow/blue mob, trash is only collateral, or in case I get body blocked on a narrow staircase. That's the only time I kill trash mobs. But I'm still hoping for those ramaladni's gifts dammnit. Did you guys get any this season? I've got 8 Ramaladni's gift so far this season but I'm still waiting for a decent ancient weapon to use them Anyway, regarding your sader, I think you are being a little bit impatient. I'm pretty sure that part of your problems pushing GR60-65 grifts come from underleveled gems, specially those (according to your profile) lvl 30 Trapped and lvl 48 Boyarski's gems. So, if you already socketed Striken into your amulet, I'd suggest leveling up all gems as they would give you a nice boost damage-wise. Also, just keep farming for ancient items and leveling up your char, you would need a little bit more than 350 plvl to attempt GR70+ grifts. In terms of gameplay/mechanics, other than what you already said about trash mobs/elites, my only advice would be to time your Iron Skin/Consecration/Akarat skills with the physical damage bonus activation from CoE.
I've been stopping to kill groups of trash mobs with my thorns sader. Should I just ignore them unless I get really, really good density? I'm having issues with the stupid horse getting stuck. I'm not quite sure how to use that skill. LOL
I got stricken as one of my last gems so haven't leveled it yet. I managed to do a GR60 last night with a level 50 Boyarski and a level 25 powerful as a placeholder. Just starting to level my stricken and trapped gems. Both <10 currently.

I looked for it a bit, but found only sparse info. Thanks a lot for the recap.
By the way, where did you found all of this in the first place?

By the way, where did you found all of this in the first place? From a post on reddit, try google invoker interactions. It has a much more comprehensive list, the ones I outlined are the most relevant for gearing/gameplay.

What should I roll the +weapon damage into with Invoker build then? None of the outcomes seem that exciting so I haven't really bothered with that. I have a Ramaladni'd Ancient Pig Sticker if thats relevant.
Other than that I've almost completed my basic build now, just need a Akaret's Awakening that has a decent roll, ideally ancient.

On weapon, you want STR, VIT, Aspd, CDR, LOH in that order.

Pushing leaderboards is really fun tbh. Im discovering all the nuances of Leap Barb in high GRs and its fun to see what ideas I have that work out really well.
Was able to push GR73 for one run after augmenting my bracers + Show Spoiler +
Replacing Nerves of Steel with Bloodthirst was huge. That combined with your life per fury spent on mighty belt literally means you mini heal pot yourself every leap, and just completely full rejuv yourself every boulder toss.
Also added occulus ring on my Templar and it procs a lot, suprisingly. I think in this run it proc'd at least 4 times, and it was a huge boost to my dps (which is what leap barbs lack in high GRs, rather than survivability).

By the way, if anyone is trying to get into the Liquid clan in NA and wants an invite, let me know your in game name and I'll shoot an invite. We're capped at 150 members and have about 15 pending requests, so I want to make sure anyone who actually is a TL user gets in.

gah I'm one sub 4 minute rift from getting that stash tab. even on amazing maps solo thornsader doesn't clear trash fast enough.

For the stash tab you need to clear TX rift under 3 min, not 4 . I did it with LoN + swift mount + 65% CDR with leoric's crown.

You can party up for that achievement too.

There is a guide here that might be helpful.

thanks for the advice. got the tab after switching to LoN. so damn squishy in GR65+ though and need more CDR (currently at 55%)

What's the best weapon for LoN bombardment, swiftmount right? I imagine doombringer/pig sticker's attack speed dont matter because it has no effect on horse or bombardment.

Doombringer has an innate phys% roll so it might edge out swiftmount if you want the damage. I read in guides that generally for low rifts 50-60 its swiftmount but higher up you might want to bring the doom (get it? Doto reference... no? OK )
Now the real question is which shield? Balls to the wall Lidless for another 10/15 phys% or final witness for 360 degree shield glare divine verdict for damage amp and CC on groups.
edit: I mean it will come down to rolls anyway between weapons. If you can't find a swiftmount and have a godly ancient doom bring the doom. if you're doom rolled shitty but swift is good, put on swift.
