He looks good, and seeing that screenie makes me think he can do well, but I was told he can only jungle and push lanes. The last time I fought against corki I couldn't get anywhere near him otherwise I would just be bombarded by all of his damage cd's. Can he only gank early game? Can he only jungle late game? with MM you will be playing against noobs. and you earn more points even if you lose. and youll be getting a more realistic experience. trust me its good to dive right in. | ||

They're just expensive because they're "hard to play," as someone mentioned earlier they tend to have skillshots or combos that are difficult for newbies to land. Blitzcrank, for instance, has a whole combo based on hooking, and is otherwise a melee DPS with basically no survivability. Karthus' main skill is a skillshot that hits where your mouse cursor is, and he's a point-blank aoe nuker, so he has to run up to you - suicide for a squishy. Ezreal's whole skillset is filled with skillshots. Kennen has a skillshot that sets up his combo and has a lot of close-ranged skills for such a squishy hero - it's why lots of people despise him and consider him "crappy." In no way or form is IP cost attached to a hero based on their good-ness. Also the most recent hero was 3150, as was Nidalee, Poppy is 1350 I think, etc. There's nothing more to it than perceived difficulty of use. I am petered and my main character is singed. I am 23-23 overall but 19-12 with singed. I have found that, just like Starcraft, a great way to start off and feel relevant is to find a champ you like, figure out a good build, and just use that a number of times in a row. Once you get competent with that character you can feel like you are decent, and then next time you learn a champion it will go much faster. I did the same thing with SC when I was learning. I chose terran, learned three builds, and played that over and over until I was decent. Then you add variety once you know the game a little bit. Also, find a character that is fun, don't jump for the champions you have heard are the best. I heard alistar was a great tank, but I played him once and found him incredibly boring. I personally think positional heroes are the most fun, hence my choice of singed with three of his four skills being very positional. | ||

Melee in LoL is indeed difficult, and has been relatively cyclical. Melee DPS tends to get shafted because you're forced to invest in a multitude of different stats as you balance survivability versus damage output. Teemo and Ashe are both ranged support/damage characters - off the top of my head the closest you'll get to a third support dps ranged hero is Nidalee, who is arguably not even really ranged DPS half the time anyways. Corki, Tristana, and Twisted Fate are some more pureblood ranged DPS carry heroes if that's what you're going for. thx for the help man, ill have to play one of those chars. Boo to locket nerf Im just gonna be Gragas, he probably wont be touched for a whle :/ On a funny note, I played with a bunch of lower leveled people on LiquidParty on my smurf and ended up carrying with Tank Gragas lol. | ||
