I mean, I played a lot of pantheon when I was winning with him. When his inability to carry even when I succeeded during laning plummeted my Elo, I did some soul searching, found jungling and Kennen/Annie and voila, I'm back above 1650. It's been awhile since I played Pantheon and the last times were random dabblings that went pretty poorly because I'm really uncomfortable with his roll, or lack thereof, in a balanced team. Oh yea and ever since I picked up Kennen, whenever the opposing team has picked Pantheon, I just counter with Kennen and it's a horribly lopsided assraping, LOL. What a bad character, I still don't understand how he ends up above tier 4 on anyone's tier list.

mallet + atma's is better IMO, but they both kinda suck IMO. I dunno, he just feels so bad putting on his tank gear when I compare him to... you know... viable tanky DPSers like Warwick, Udyr, Olaf and Xin who also happen to be better junglers which is a much more convenient place to put a character in that role during laning (otherwise you have to put a tank and that puts either your ranged carry or AP carry in a duo lane which is  most of the time IMO). I dunno, he just feel totally out of place on every team. I'm never sitting at 5th pick going, YOU KNOW WHAT THIS TEAM NEEDS? FUCKIN' PANTHEON! YEAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

mallet just seems like a horrid item now in general with the new warmog's, needs a buff imo. you are paying 825 gold for a slow. it used to be good because warmog's and mallet gave essentially the same amount of hp so the choice was clear, but now warmog's gives a good 500+ hp over it so I rarely find myself finishing the phage (which is an awesome item)
No idea why I bought the mallet on xin last night lol, shoulda just bought randuin's

I think LW is mandatory on Xin now btw. 40% ArPen on his ult is just... O_O wtf OP. It's taken the place of BR as my one offensive item on him.

I fed during laning and then I got a Sunfire, Negatron, Mantle, Cloth, and Chain Vest and never died again. Garen's still pretty dumb.

First, Q. The more cleavers(/briefcases) you hit, the better. The more you throw, the better. It does a lot of damage AND slows, on a low cooldown.
Second, E. If you have a solo lane, against just about anyone, you can zone them or possibly kill them (still regularly happens at 1400 ELO) as soon as you hit 2. Cleaver , get close, E, hit them. It's not exactly complicated.
By the time you hit 5: if against a nuker, they'll usually be able to trade favorably with you unless you've already destroyed them. Just last-hit and farm. Hopefully your team doesn't need you before level 11, because you should farm as much as possible now. Be careful about being ganked; you should be able to escape most situations though.
Run around the edge of a pre-teamfight poking with cleaver. If you like to build tanky, try and bait as much CC as you can. With W and probably merc treads, you can almost shrug it off entirely. This is when your team should go in.
If building more DPSy, try to bait a few stuns anyways, but be much more cautious. Wait until someone else has gone in, look for an exposed target, and start killing it. Preferably not a tank, but a dead enemy tank is better than a dead you.
In either case, press R at about half health and run away. Stay back and throw cleavers until either: it's clear your team will lose (run away)
it's clear your team will win (chase)
you're at more or less full health (charge back in).
There you go. Everything you need to know to play mundo.

thats how i do it too im always too aggressive with my E and then i get low..but later in the game when i have some funfires i just spin to win
