I've yet to win a game of Civ and am pretty terrible at it so if there's a good starting point in terms of win cons that might help me win a game. Science victory is by far the easiest to win with. Culture is probably the hardest. What kind of difficulty are you playing at?

Haha nah I can go without if that's the way it has to be. Maybe my laptop can run it and I can 'activate' it at work. We'll see ![]()

On normal (i.e. prince), science victory should be very easy on pangaea and domination should be very easy on water maps. Domination might be easier than I give credits for. I am biased against it because I can never do it myself properly.

Culture is hard because while you can kind of do the same thing (early faith civ -> CB/World Church -> build tall), it takes a LOT longer to achieve and doesn't snowball like the path to diplomatic victory. Gold is also a lot more versatile.

Bought it during the winter sales including G + K and ofcourse had too buy the korea DLC aswell. Gradually making my way up the difficulty scale. Was really lost even on prince when i first started, i made a mess out of build orders, research orders and well.... everything. Once you get the hang of a good opener this game really is good fun, just started emperor level, i'll see how i do there. I'm currently usually going for a science or diplo victory,i'm still not very good at domination. I always wait too long to start ransacking my neighbours, except when my neighbours are either Alexander or Bismarck..... Then it's game on from the get go, have developed a healthy dislike for both of them. Backstabbing me on every opportunity, denouncing when i'm friendly, settling stupid cities with maybe 1 usefull desert tile in between my cities etc etc. many more hours to go on this game !

Does computer discriminate against You in higher difficulty levels with starting positions? I am not talking about luxury/strategic resurces but simple type of terrain. Also i would like to reitarate my position on building wonders. Emperor-there is no reason to not build 90% of wonders in game. Immortal-last 9 of 10 games i was able to build 2+ ancient wonders, and then increasing amount of wonders, from industrial upwards its almost 100% (sometimes comp manges to bild staute of liberty). Stonehenge imba it pretty much guarntees You early religion (First or second to found). Now i am building it every game. Also i once started with Theodora but got bored before i was able to check, does bonus belief comes from pool available to other civs or is this some new Byzantine only pool?

Also i once started with Theodora but got bored before i was able to check, does bonus belief comes from pool available to other civs or is this some new Byzantine only pool? Byzantine bonus belief can be anything - but as far as I know, can't be something that is already taken. Byzantium does not have a civ-unique pool. However, I don't really see any reason to NOT choose a second founder bonus. Ideally, running two of Tithe, Church Property, and Initiation Rites is pretty broken. One alternative which might be OK is to get Itinerant Preachers (pressure radius is 30% bigger) or Religious Text (33% faster spread). You can get these without enhancing your belief - and by the time you enhance it, you can get the other one - which means your religion will spread like the flu. However even with this I find it too hard to pull off on Immortal. It's probably barely doable on Emperor. EDIT: I just had this most terrible game ever on Pangaea with Theodora. 1. Mongols <10 tiles away from my capital? Check. 2. No desert/tundra/wine/incense/gold/silver/stone/marble? Check. 3. No religious CS in sight? Check. 4. No horses in sight? Check. 5. No faith natural wonders in sight? Check. WHY IS THIS GAME SO HARD EDIT2: Rerolled the map and civ, got Spain, found a natural wonder by turn 3 (+4 food, +12 faith per turn, lol). WHY IS THIS GAME SO EASY

Byzantines are one of these civs that lose their potential the higher the difficulty is as their UA is exclusively based on you being able to get a religion in the first place which is by no means a guarantee. Catas are pretty fun though heh
