-he's happy to see Suppy qualified and that his training with Demuslim helped him -about Idra, he was really surprised and said the EG players weren't informed at all before -he didn't know Idra really well and never really talked to him. he thinks Idra is a person hard to know but that he's nicer that what you can think if you know Idra only from internet -he thinks the insults from Idra didn't deserved the kick from EG but that it's more the cumulation of this, the high salaries and the lack of results -about EG, said that in the past their goal to have popular gamers was more important than to have good players to make esport interesting and that's how it became a big team. but the fans started to be bored to see the lack of results and that's why EG started to recruit better players and Koreans to have both popular players and good players for good results (but that they can't be both) -he thinks that he is in the "good players" and not in the "popular players" saying Idra and Incontrol are way more popular than him -results from EG-TL in proleague are not superb but good enough -about his first match in proleague, his manager warned him but by reflex he still said "gl, hf" and he''s really thanksful to herO cause he saved him from a disqualification -he's happy about his results in proleague but said that if he had continue to play proleague with HoTS, his results would have stopped to be positive -he thinks Kespa players improve a lot faster because of their teamhouse and mentality. they have a manager/coach that helps them a lot and the players help each other while in "occidental" teams, the players think about their own level before the team level and they want to hide what they learned so they improve slower -GSL invited him to each season (7-8) but he refused them all (except the one he did ofc) -he said the GSL was a good experience but he hates the format cause he prefers to play by instinct rather than preparing a matchup -said that everyone expect him to beat Koreans but that he lost to Innovation & Flying and that everyone can see now that they have a really high level -he really wanted to win his group and his match vs Flying and he trained a lot for these. he didn't train for his up&down but he did his duty to requalify to code S even though he had to forfeit his place -he is disappointed with his level right now. He was good in USA when he was at EG house and think that it was a really high level. At MLG he was really bad cause he didn't have train on HoTS, was a bit better at IEM but he doesn't know why he didn't play really good at Dreamhack. Even though he doesn't like ZvZ, he is sad he lost to the first Korean he met (Coca) at DH but thinks better days will come soon -he was really disapointed with his loss to Coca and he didn't really want to play his placement match vs Grubby so he kinda thrown it up -he blames his computer for his not no good result in WCS, saying it had low FPS (25-30) and that's why he played defensively cause it was too hard to do good micro -he thinks Thorzain is easy & fears the ZvZ matchup vs Dimaga
2nd part will come later
part 2:
-doesnt think Naniwa can be better than him, and doesn't want to say he's the best European to not look arrogant -he had a challenge with him on twitter for 5k $ but he thought that it didn't worth the time and didn't want to play with/vs him cause Naniwa is an idiot -he started sc2 at diamond league -before sc2, he played wc3 as semi pro and was top3-4 in France. Was pretty good considering the time he spent playing. He beat Grubby at 14yo but only played in French LAN. -He joined Millenium at SC2 cause he was in their team for WC3 too -he became good and known at SC2 cause he loves the game, he is more gifted than talented cause he didn't work as much as some players do and thinks that his personality is interesting cause he's frank and honest -his alternative nickname at WC3 was "nhy" -he confirmed he will stop playing SC2 as a pro on 15 august when his EG contract ends. He may still play in some French LAN -since quite some time, Dayshi taunts him saying that Stephano is finished and that he is now the best French. After he did 0-3 at DH, he was exultating -he doesn't think a competition with Dayshi can be good: if Dayshi loses, it would be expected but if Dayshi wins he would be glorified so Stephano has nothing to win -he thinks ToD isn't interested anymore by the competition and that his switch to a caster career is a good choice. he added that a player should know when to stop when he's not good enough and that is why he will stop too -he doesn't really know why he isn't as good as before and thinks that he is maybe bored of the game -the release of HoTS remotivated him but now, not so much -he had a good relationship with EG staff when he was still Millenium cause he was the only Millenium player in American LAN and EG helped him -the ambiance at EG is good but thinks that if you stay for too long with other player, you can't avoid conflict (and Grubby warned him about that). Ego is too important, and when you play with teammates, someone win, someone lose and it doesn't always goes well -his WC3 game vs Grubby and casted by Husky made him more known and he had to refuse invitation to some teams cause he didn't have time to play more -he doesn't think any French player is good, but Feast, as a francophone, is the best player, really nice and he hopes he will get even better. he thinks Dayshi can be good but that he has a too big mouth for his level -about Adelscott, he says that he is really stupid in the game to play always the same way even though he invented the 5 gates and that he should play more different style -he invented or popularized many strats (zerg/infestors/ultra or roach/hydra or max roach) and explain that by the fact he never watched a lot of replay and tried a lot. -he likes to counter some openings that become really mainstream and this way it creates new strat -his best career moment is his win at NASL 3 -his worst is his defeat to Mana at DH Winter (in fact, it's DH Summer in 2012) cause he was then the best foreigner and but had the big head for this match. he really regret this loss -his strong points in sc2 are: really good micro and good engagement -his bad points: bad creep and bad injection, and he has a reputation to not be cheesy so his opponents can play greedy -thinks the Mothership Core is really annoying and that it helps the Immortals push too much (recall/timegate) -He enjoys doing some casting but only for a really short time -He tried League of Legend when he was really bored with SC2 (in Korea) and he didn't like it at all -(he then talks a lot about the game and some mechanics in sc2) -he thanks Anjellycar for her work -he thinks at macro so that's why he doesn't like to cheese. Actually, he doesn't even know the BO like pool 6/8/9 etc. Even if he knows that someone will ALWAYS go for hatch first, he will never pool 6 to beat him -He will never continue in esport as something else than player (like Manager, Coach, caster, etc) -Maybe his passion for the game will come back in the future -he met Coach Park and he was really friendly to him -he likes EG Manager a lot (I guess it's evoli?) -Thinks that if a French player wants to be a pro, he has to join Millenium cause it's by far the best team. They support players a lot, send them to all LAN in Europe if the player is motivated and good enough. it's in LAN that you improve the most cause if you lose after you made an error, you learn it hard way and you really don't want to make this mistake again. he is really thankful to Millenium, he had a great time with them and they did all they could to keep Stephano with them. He thinks they can compete at the same level than an American team. They were really close to the EG contract made for Stephano and they have a really good vision of esport and are ambitious -He respects HasuObs cause he learns from his defeats and he is not sensitive after a defeat. Stephano doesn't like players that are angry after a loss or don't accept defeat -Best Europeans for Stephano: Stephano, Naniwa, Thorzain, Lucifron (said that WC3 always made good players) & TLO. He thinks Nerchio ain't really good now and has a shit mentality -about TLO: really intelligent guy and that see more than just the game. said that TLO got the carpal tunnel syndrom on the left hand and so does Stephano (didn't say which hand). That's not why he is stopping, he never had any problem in tournament, he just play a bit less with it -He really wanted to be at the Iron Squid 2 final in front of his French fans and was sad to lose to DRG, but it was again a ZvZ -he will not do Medicine studies, but most likely Engineer maths/physics/chemistry or something like that. He knows that starting medicine would be way too hard after 2 years without studies -If there is an Iron Squid 3, even if he stopped playing, he want to do it -He thinks Widow Mines are fine as they are right now cause you can use them against the terrans too. He doesn't like Hellbats (they cost too few for too much damage) and Mothership Core -He only watch Zerg streams like Idra, Dimaga or TLO (who he finds really interesting) -He likes Artosis & Apollo cause they funnt and understand the game really well for casters while some others are really stupid (but he doesn't want to say names) -what he learned with his esport career: to be patient, stoic (but then he concentrates on the game) -he had 90% of victory when he played WC3 while in Korea
-the first match is vs a viewer (leeton, zerg) and his handicap is playing without queens -the 2nd match is vs a viewer (DaKintro ,protoss) and his handicap is playing without keyboard (he cheats once though by pressing SHIFT) -the 3rd (barcode), 4th (aAaPsionic) and 5th (mouzHasuObs) match are ladder. They are really good games
keep in mind that it's a translation from French to English and that my English isn't that good
and geez, that's so fucking long! really sorry. I don't even know if it is interesting
Not really much of a Stephano fan, but unlike many other foreigners who 'retire', this matters. I think he's been the best foreigner and proven that he can compete with top Korean gamers on the big stage. I'll never forget some of his games vs Polt.
It'll be sad to see him go. I certainly hope we see a foreigner who can actually compete the way Stephano did soon.

Well medicine is harder to get accepted, but getting a degree in any of those other disciplines is just as hard.
Thank you Yhamm. So it sounds like he will still be playing a little bit, given that he plans to play in French LANs. Also I think he'll have plenty of time to play online as well. If Polt could go to school (and a very good school at that) and still play at a high level, I think Stephano can too.

i think if scarlett fixes her wrist issues she can be a beast
I think when his out of EG he will be the stephano i had once knew, during the days of twelve minute max roach era and the lingz infestor ultralisk time of WOL , in my own opinion there is a problem on the EG team be it a curse or whatsoever, nobody who got in the team reaches in the top nor in top form as of the moment, more or less all of them are retiring and declining. I believe once the prince of drones had more free time to reflect on himself he will have the motivation and drive on the game and be far greater once again. . I always miss the Stephano -Polt Lone Star Clash. . .Stephano is arguably one of D most talented sc2 player the world had witness so far out of Korean soil and arguably D most celebrated. For me he was the great Bobby Fischer (American grandmaster in Chess) Of SC2 who against the odd had been slaying korean warmachines here and there . I had been following him since his millennium days. Thus right now that his career ending is drawing near all i can say is no one of the foreigner not even naniwa or whoever else can hold a candle to the wizard of Hydra. . .

That last game was probably one of the best ever games I've seen.. So much back and forth action! I almost died to a heartattack at some points T__T
Most exciting I would say so yeh, not really best in terms of quality, some sloppy Muta control on Stephanos side, and some huge mistakes from TFunk to allow Stephano back in.
Hopefully he can go far, I bet a big pay check might change his opinion on quiting
