Nice stats man. As coinflippy as PvP is, I do indeed think that MC needs to practice it more - or at least needs to get some way of improving efficiently at it. His PvT has moments of looking poor, but his PvP seems worse.

With Oz and HuK doing so well in it, there's definitely something they've got that MC just hasn't right now. Hopefully he can improve on that, it's always sad seeing players with stronger PvT and PvZ losing in a PvP. Huk's been knocked out of multiple tournaments via PvP (Dreamhack, NASL, MLG Providence). It's an extremely volatile matchup but I do think MC is worse at it than most of the other Protoss around his level.

In simple words. his style in PvP is grossly outdated, I mean GROSSLY. It's almost as if he's completely given up on training for the matchup and he just relies on his micro to try and win, which is nice, but mirrors are always more about BO than anything. It's really sad, since he's really good at the other matchups but it's really scary whenever he has to face a fellow protoss. People seem to think since the matchup is so "coin-flippy" he just loses due to the alleged randomness of the matchup. Lies, he loses because he's way behind in the metagame, 6 months or maybe even a year behind.

Most MC fans seem to be deluded by his prior dominance in the matchup, but that was ages ago and ever since gateways and immortals got patched MC hasn't been able to keep up with the metagame. He's one of the first really good Protoss to go Warp Prism/Immortal in PvP, and also consistently goes for expansions before his opponents. I think there is something that we - mere low-level spectators - can't appreciate about PvP that MC doesn't have a full understanding of yet. Sure, it doesn't account for ALL his losses, but it often seems like his opponent is just one step ahead in the understanding department.

I had little time this weekend so I did not watch as much as others. The only Mc matches I watched was the MKP vs Mc ones. Both played well and generally Mc got outplayed but I was happy despite his losses. As long as it was not imba bull shits like 111 or some radiculous imba zerg maps, Mc is one of tosses will find out a solution to deal with the issue if time is given. For example, a few months ago, top zergs knew how to go fast 3rd bases and drone out to punish fast 2 bases toss play, Mc was the ones invested builds to couter zergs, such as 7gate blink, 4 gate zeals in to 7 gate dt expand and refined old 7 gates all in etc. In pvt, Mc was one of tosses first to go gateway units heavy. He also was one of ppl showing us how to punish terran fast 3 bases play. I think the reason why Mc looked inconsistent in pvt was you cannot deny that there are so many intelligent terran players in the community especially in Korea. And they are all watching Mc. Just like Idra once said, if you can beat Mc in a pvz, you have the ability of beating basically every single other toss. The same applies in pvt. And like MC said, terran is more imba. No matter what toss does, there is always a hard couter build available for terran. They are all watching Mc and Mc played a lot in his stream and tournaments. No matter what Mc comes out, it will get hard couter in no time. Despite all that, Mc have showed us, he is able to outplay basically everyone who defeated him before. It happened to polt, puma, mvp, drg and many other big names. He is still the toss champion. I find it a bit hard to describe what is happening to Mc's pvp, but it is acceptable. After all, Mc is not the flash in sc2 and if you looked at sc histroy, almost every single top toss had a relatively weak matchup. I wish Mc all the best and will always be a fan regardless win or loss. Let us cheer him up and wish him all the best in iron squid, IPL4 and GSL S2.

MVP also beat him in a previous gsl group. But all in all, MVP is slumping hard and TvP is his worst match up I think MC should be able to take it.
