There's a huge difference between having your image hurt by past events and being condemned as a person, e.g. people thinking "oh man she did a stupid video at 13, she's definitely a super slut." Age makes all the difference, here. Very, very few people are the same then as they are now; that's the reason we have different standards for minors.

I think you're seriously misunderstanding my post. Where did I ever say she IS a stupid slut? I like Jiyeon. But I did say if that is her in the video she definitely WAS a stupid slut. And she changed. How are you not a stupid slut if you strip on webcam for people online? Also, these idols were TRAINED since trainees to manage their public image and not do stupid shit. Apparently, assuming that is Jiyeon in the video, Jiyeon was definitely a trainee during the time and she should've received some form of training. That's just ridiculously stupid on her part. Which is more reason for me to believe that isn't her in the video though.
Also, if what you're saying is true, it would be a HUGE risk for her management company to play that strategy because if the person who spread the video in the first place does decide to pursue the case, it's GG for Jiyeon. As well as the company itself.
I think he's arguing that the word slut has very strong implications, including a girl's complete understanding of what she is truly doing.

pop idols in Korea are trained from a young age. it isn't like America where someone like Ke$ha has sex with some assistant producer and gets a recording contract, or Miley Cyrus has sex with her country music star dad to get him to let her be a star. it's a different culture and pre-marital sex is still very taboo. you can say "we" and "here" all you want but this story isn't about some slutty American.
