To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

It's good to at least see some electronica being mixed in recently, I think starting last year, Shinawa and the Brown Eyed Girls are some mainstream examples of the mixing of genres.
Friends of mine can't seem to distinguish between any of the bands looool. I don't blame them. Other than a few notable songs like L.O.V.E. nothing stands out for them apparently. Rock-K? Does that exist? Or K-Rap? I'd love to sample a few of those if they exist.
For my friends, can anyone recommend something that's mind blowingly good? I dunno. All of them, despite being pretty unenthused about the entire genre, are really really open minded. Guys seem to really enjoy kpop when I show them the videos though :D So yeah, I love k-pop but I'd love to see a lot more creativity in it. It needs a lady gaga....
Welcome but I have to disagree with your last statement. I guess its me, but the reason i stayed away from American Pop and went to Kpop/Jpop is because of the fact that I hate Lady gaga + similar type of that music. Not too sure if theres any of that type in Korean Music but I'm pretty sure it isnt very popular here..and for that I'm thankful =)
but hey who knows. maybe K + Lady Gaga = something better ;p

I never shat on SNSD for their English I even praised their tell me cover but that isn't there song. If they did the songs 4minute did Id probably be a fan but they choose to keep making crap so I'll keep haiting. Also how can Bo Peep fans question the music of any other group. That song kills more brain cells then smoking and alcohol combined.
Obvious troll spotted
Please stop making assumptions about my motives. What you consider trolling others may regard as a legitimate contribution to a discussion. I acknowledge that some of my comments were controversial but by no means am I looking for a prolonged discussion. Most of my posts dont even address SNSD and I dont post enough to begin with, but be that as it may, calling someone a troll is still highly subjective. However if a comment as simple as: ”If they did the songs 4minute did Id probably be a fan but they choose to keep making crap so I'll keep haiting” qualifies as trolling. Then I will oblige though from here on out and post no more negative comments and only bring up groups in a positive light in the future. T rust me Im to busy with other things in my life to spend my time enraging people in a k-pop thread and I just discovered k-pop and will rather spend my time enjoying and further exploring. So hopefully we wont have any more misunderstandings from here on out. Sorry Hyaach.
Also Warrior Madness if you have any K-rap (crap if you will) questions I would be MOAR than willing to assist you as you are one of my favorite posters on TL it is an honor to quote you sir.

Thing is I think K-Pop is kinda robotic especially with idol groups. They get trained so hard in the performance aspect so the songs are tailored for them to sing live (and be catchy and all that...) The song itself might be kinda crappy, but it's more geared for performances on live music shows. The more creative side of K-Pop is really unknown to a casual fan unless you delve deep into other groups and stuff.
You want electronica this is probably one of the most well known songs of that genre (by a really good group IMO)
If anyone knows about this band it's because of the female vocal
Korea's Indie Scene is like... invisible except to hardcore fans (and fuck CNBlue)
Taru and No Reply
Misty Blue (under Pastel Music, probably the biggest Indie label in Korea)
Thing about Kpop is it's not origingally intended to appeal to other people besides Koreans. They could care less if other people like it, as long as Koreans like it, it's all good. The same holds true to the Korean SC scene too.

Somebody shoot me now. I'm fine with Untouchable having top rank but now I'm having trouble stopping my head from hitting the desk. Maybe I should just assume the initial fangirl-spaz effect and leave with my sanity though =/.
