I heard ayatsuji arc is getting 5 eps and the finale will possibly be on Christmas. Except instead of spending christmas with a grill I like, I'll be waiting for subs. ffffffff

Ayatsuji is the best + Show Spoiler + except the end of the episode got me a little confused, is she bipolar? I don't wanna spoil myself though, another long week till the next ep. /sigh

I'm pretty sure at the end of this episode we were meant to infer(also kind've going off the manga) that her mask/facade is still there and that this is a problem they're going to have to deal with before their relationship can progress. I liked the touches the anime did this episode to add on to the manga (which was pretty good) so I was overall very happy with this episode.

It was... novel? Refreshing certainly does not have the proper connotation... but it was new. TimeOut: I plan to watch Haruhi since many recommended (and don't seem to be trolling) from this weekend and onwards. What does watching anime together do though? Ask stuff that confuses you?

However, a 5th episode for Ayatsuji would make the arc much more fleshed out

Can't wait to know more about her. What does watching anime together do though? Ask stuff that confuses you? Isn't it the same as watching DVD or going to the cinema (except for the part where you have to spend horrendous amounts of money to watch stupid crap)? You watch something, have a good time with friends and you can talk about it afterwards. It's also a good way to introduce people to anime, especially if they are interested in the first place but have no idea what they should watch. But it's important that you have similar tastes and interests. As for Haruhi: I got him to watch the second episode (chronological first episode) now and it looks like he enjoyed it, as predicted. Still not as interested as he was with other series. ![]() If you want to watch Haruhi, please watch at least a few episodes. You don't need to watch the second season (mainly because of endless eight, although Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody is one of my favorite episodes) on a first run, but the core season is really really good, even if it seems completely strange at first.

What does watching anime together do though? Ask stuff that confuses you? haha, you didn't think the anime was funny? But all trolling aside, Haruhi is a decent anime overall. As a warning, in the 2009 version, there is a string of episodes called "The Endless Eight", where the show essentially aired the exact same fucking episode 8 times in a row, but with different camera angles and stuff.

It's always nice to read people's reaction after watching School Days ![]() On December 10 2010 07:10 unbal3 wrote: idk if this is the place to ask, but i was wondering if i could get some recommendations on good anime/manga. formulaic heroes with obscenely colored hair screaming names of fight moves page after page, episode after episode (e.g. one piece. filler much?) has put me off shonen manga in general in the past, as have volumes of raw, exaggerated violence in seinen manga; and i haven't bothered going into many of the other genres for probably obvious reasons. when i came across Fullmetal Alchemist by Arakawa Hiromu, it was like a breath of fresh air - finally, a manga with a deep, refined storyline along with characters and a setting that requires minimal suspension of disbelief, as well as plenty of attention to artwork and detail. the Brotherhood animation was of such high quality, as well (incredible attention to detail and >20fps animation? yes please). this got me wondering if there were any more manga/anime like it, except when i tried looking for some, all i came across were the kind i've avoided in the past for reasons stated in the paragraph above. i always appreciate a good story, and since it's been a long time since i've looked at manga, i was wondering if there were any fellow TLers who could inform me of manga/anime with a good storyline and a believable setting (one can suspend disbelief only so much). if you know of such manga/anime and would like to share, i'd be very grateful :D Ga-Rei Zero, Code Geass, Fate/Stay Night, Bacanno, Darker than Black, and of course School Days. ![]() As for the current discussion of old vs new anime, I don't really have any opinion on it as even though I have watched a lot of older anime, I don't remember half of them as I was very young when I watched them and still trying to catch up.

Very gripping story and character development in a very dynamic setting. Initial D, if you like cars and can handle older animation. It really picks up after about 5 episodes so give it a chance before you throw it away. Other than that your specifications really narrow the ability to recommend good animes. I'm sure other people will be able to give you some shitty drama ideas, but if you like fullfilling plots then i recommend these.

First 13 volumes of Berserk is pretty good. Tenjou Tenge is ok if you can figure out what the fuck is going on. Claymore is alright but I feel it's about to turn to absolute shit.

Really fullfilling | ||

Except I didn't read the manga, I watched the anime. It is probably the best shounen anime (if it is shounen) ever. IIRC Blood+ was pretty good also. Generally I don't like shounen anime either, but those are probably the only exceptions

Really fullfilling umm I loved every minute of hunter x hunter, I couldn't stop watching it because the plot kept evolving. I found it very fulfilling, especially compared to the crap thats coming out these days. okay i agree that Initial D doesnt have a "fulfulling plot", but it gets better and better as it goes. and btw I was simply recommending animes based on his preferences I wasn't trying to start a new discussion critiqueing these shows.

I think that one of my favorite things about E7 is that it never really wasted any episodes, unlike a lot of other Animes I had watched. But I still hate the shit out of Renton. What does watching anime together do though? Ask stuff that confuses you? HAHAHAH. It actually worked. oh man, I've been waiting for something like this for the last 100 pages. + Show Spoiler [denyuuden 23] + And thus, the white-haired character showed his true color. Even if the PV didn't spoil this, I probably would have seen this coming based off the fact that Shion sports a white mane. Does that mean he has now become the fallen hero that desires to absorb the lonely demon for power? I don't really see any political pressure to get rid of Ryner, and the citizens of Roland seem to have shorter term memory then the earth population on DBZ and have forgotten about Ryner altogether.

It really made me fall in love with anime, there are just soo many aspects that make it good. I mean like I felt I could sorta understand how Renton felt, and as I saw him mature, it just felt good, (I'm not homo). And at the end, I was like all sad cause it had to end, but It left me with like a lasting impression. It felt rewarding i guess, cause it really felt like an end of a journey. Personally the only people i found annoying were the three kids. I don't even know, as i'm writing this i'm getting like goosebumps remembering all this, it was that good. Everytime i listen to the soundtrack, I just stop, and think. I don't think any other anime has done that for me. Its just incomprehensible. Well when I think of shounen, i think of mainstream stuff like Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, etc. Eureka Seven didn't really have anything, in my mind, that would make it seinen, except maybe the scene where the mech steps on a civilian, and the arm is just stuck on the foot, just hanging there. But other than that I think it could be considered shounen. Err blood was red, all the blood in shounen was black so maybe...
