IIRC Blood+ was pretty good also.
Generally I don't like shounen anime either, but those are probably the only exceptions Character development was really good. I think that one of my favorite things about E7 is that it never really wasted any episodes, unlike a lot of other Animes I had watched. But I still hate the shit out of Renton. The guy is like....the boy version of Sakura. Oh God.....>.> I don't know how to describe what I feel cause its hard to explain. Its just uncomprehendingly good, for me. It really made me fall in love with anime, there are just soo many aspects that make it good. I mean like I felt I could sorta understand how Renton felt, and as I saw him mature, it just felt good, (I'm not homo). And at the end, I was like all sad cause it had to end, but It left me with like a lasting impression. It felt rewarding i guess, cause it really felt like an end of a journey. Personally the only people i found annoying were the three kids. I don't even know, as i'm writing this i'm getting like goosebumps remembering all this, it was that good. Everytime i listen to the soundtrack, I just stop, and think. I don't think any other anime has done that for me. Its just incomprehensible. Although I don't really agree with how you feel about Eureka Seven, I completely understand how you can think that way about the show if it was what made you really fall in love with anime. I feel the exact same way about Robotech, which was the show that got me into anime. Just remembering all the good moments from the show, and nostalgizing over it gives me goosebumps too. I think everyone has an anime out there that they just really, unconditionally like, and can't really explain it too well.
As for the shounen stuff, I don't break all anime into only 3 different categories of Shounen, Seinen, and Shoujo. I consider those 3 genres in themsevless, but then there are other genres like comedy, romance, drama, mecha, School Days, etc. So while Eureka Seven does have shounen aspects, I don't consider it a strictly shounen show (I consider it a mecha show more than anything).

Shounen, Seinen, Shoujo, Minna, and Josei, Are like the demographics for me. Each anime would have a demographic, and then genres to go with it. Thats how I would organize it. Personally though, I watch a lot of what I consider "Seinen".
So for E7, I would consider it for Shounen/Seinen, and the genres are like mecha, drama, adventure, action, etc.

The next 8 days are gonna feel endless!

If you are, is there some reason why you feel the need to shit on mecha anime every single time its brought up? You don't see me shitting over people talking about OreImo, or whatever you are watching this season. Honestly, saying things like "even the names in this show sound stupid" just makes you look retarded and ignorant. IDK why you jump into a conversation or topic that you are unrelated to (in this case, SRW), just to make a douchebag out of yourself.

Shiki 19
+ Show Spoiler +Well, this is turning very nicely, since I was cheering for Ozaki all the time. The insane girl actually went berserk like I predicted at first. A lot of okiagari are fucked. I predict Ozaki dying in the next episode, because it would just be too easy... and then Yuuki will have to do something.
For the people who think Shiki was too slow, you can now watch it : stuff is finally happening!

Don't remind me. I wasted at least 4 hours of my time watching that arc. -________-x

Haha, I think I watched the first... 3 episodes of that God forsaken arc, and then just the last few minutes of the last one.

So I'm one of the few people who actually watched every Endless Eight episode? I usually skip it nowadays if I'm rewatching the series, but I've seen them all! (The fanservice was nice.)

I've watched them all too. It was fun to find the little differences the first few times watching them, but it's not as interesting after a few runs.

IDK why anyone would want to watch every episode. I guess if you were a completionist you might feel compelled to watch them all. Or in extreme cases where someone is obsessed with the series/the characters. The episode itself wasn't interesting enough watching it that many times in a row, the little differences were minor and irrelevant, and wouldn't justify watching the entire episode just for that anyway. I guess there was the fanservice, but the Haruhi girls aren't towards the top of my "hot anime girls" list, so I wouldn't watch it so many times for that either (plus there are plenty other shows out there if I'm looking for fanservice).

The Haruhi movie releases on DVD/Blu-Ray on December 18 in NA, right?
Edit: I want to know so I can get it for my friend for Christmas.
|
Yes, that's supposed to be the date according to wikipedia.
And I watched every single episode of endless eight straight. I wanted to kill myself after 3 hours.

why is katanagatari taking so long to come out D:

The Minami arc on TWGOK was really cute :3

It was... novel? Refreshing certainly does not have the proper connotation... but it was new.
TimeOut: I plan to watch Haruhi since many recommended (and don't seem to be trolling) from this weekend and onwards. What does watching anime together do though? Ask stuff that confuses you?
That sure was a nice boat eh?
Watching anime in a group tends to serve differing purposes depending on what type of series it is; for series on the serious side, your example pretty much fits in such a scenario (assuming that someone amongst your group has already watched the series/is omniscient), but for comedic series it just makes the whole experience a lot more hilarious when you're laughing alongside your friends.
Granted the first time I watched BakaTest I chuckled a handful of times but I've never actually laughed out loud until I re-watched it when introducing it to my friends.

The first ep of the first anime of the winter season, Nyaruani, has aired and been subbed. This is the one that's about some guy who interacts with a bunch of characters from Lovecraftian lore. Problem is, the episode was 4 minutes long (More like 2 since the ED doesn't count) and was animated in Flash.
I can't even describe how pissed I feel right now.
Edit: This week's Index did not help my rage. + Show Spoiler +I swear to god, Touma spent five minutes talking while Tsuchimikado was on the ground incapacitated by that spell.
Edit 3: Oh yeah, and then when he finally hits Oriana, he fails to use that opportunity to 1) Incapacitate her 2) Touch the fucking paper that is maintaining the spell affecting Tsuchimikado.
Argh.
Edit 2: Totally unrelated, but somebody got Commie to do an encode of Inception because nobody outside of the fansubbing scene seems to use h.264/mkv. I found it kinda amusing.

A network approved that for airing?
