Potentially better than Winter 2010 for me. And when I hear Chaos;Head is bad, I mean the anime adaptation.
If I had to choose (based only on the one-paragraph summaries on the chart), I would take a look at Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai (why not?), Hidan no Aria (looks cute), Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko (cute alien, maybe), Hana-Saku Iroha (depends) and maybe Steins;Gate (plot sounds interesting).
Hidan no Aria, from what I've seen/read, is incredibly generic to a fault. I mean, the main girl is your usual short, twintailed, and flat-chested tsundere. The main guy has a hidden special ability but chooses not to use it because of his tragic past. Girl forces her way into said guy's life. And so on. I'll still try it, but my hopes are not high...

You seen Denpateki na Kanojo? It's pretty good.

And I just watched Clannad 15 and 16. It was nice to have a couple lighthearted, funny episodes after the bawwfest that was the Kotomi arc. And that last scene in 15 was gold, when + Show Spoiler +
Okazaki convinced Nagisa that Sunohara was gay for him.
Oh hey, you're almost at the episode that crushed the hopes and dreams of shippers everywhere.
huh? well we all know Nagisa is the best so my hopes never were crushed, though I liked the Tomoyo OVA too
I need to watch Clannad again. I miss all the characters now that I think about it.....>.>
And for some reason I didn't like the Kotomi arc....it got a bit boring at once point.
I liked it. I thought the first part was better though. But I ultimately liked the Fuuko arc better, just because lolis always have a special place in my heart...Wow, I sound like a pedophile. >.<
I disliked Fuuko arc Well.. I just thought it was meh
Now one I hated was Makoto from Kanon The only part I "liked" about her arc was + Show Spoiler +
when she dropped the cat, and I was like wtf
Shiori~ I love that Whack-A-Mole scene :>
I enjoyed the Kanon VN too~
How can you hate Makoto? The only arc I hated was Shiori. Mai arc was by far the best though. For me, eps 9 - 15 of Kanon are potentially the best consecutive sequence of episodes I've ever seen in an anime.
Mai is such an epic character =D Makoto has my favorite arc though
Legend of the Galactic Heroes is extremely good. I'm up to like episode 36, still have like 70 episodes to go, and can't wait to get to them. Its a shame that so few people in this thread seem to have watched it. Everyone here would probably enjoy it.
College apps finished, time to start watching anime again!
Can anyone recommend me a fantasy/action/adventure romance series that doesn't feature a tsundere female lead? The ones I know about, such as FSN, ZnT, Shana, Kaze no Stigma, FMP, Phantom Requiem, etc. all have tsundere leads, and as much as I enjoy this genre, I was wondering if there are any good fantasy/action romance with no tsunderes.

Escaflowne certainly works.
I assume LoGH gets better, because I'm on ep. 7 and it's been a ponderous, predictable bore. The only good thing has been the epic Mahler soundtrack.
Then again, I'm less than a tenth of the way through :p

The first set of episodes aren't as good, because at that point its pretty much just setting up the characters. Once everyone gets established, and events start getting bigger, the show starts getting better. After + Show Spoiler [Episode 7ish spoilers] +
Yang captures Iserlohn
, the politics and war on both sides start getting more interesting, and just builds from there.
LoGH is easily one of the most descriptive animes.
There are a ridiculous amount of fucking characters on both sides, but just about every character is so extremely memorable and you have badasses like Yang, Reinhard, and Reuental.
LoGH gets really good with political, religious, and economics and offers some interesting insights into war and religion.

At the point I'm in, its doing a good job making Dictatorships look better than Democracy, lol
Makes me wonder if Yang will ever try to overthrow the corrupt leaders of the Alliance, like people have predicted he will, even if it is against his nature to do so.
Don't know if it has been discussed, because there are 10000 posts, but there are two anime that not many people seem to know about that I am watching again.
It' about an island off the coast of Japan that after a geological incident have something called "Alter Power". They have to fight for self freedom from HOLY, an organization controlled by the mainland that tried to put a leash on these alter power users.
IMO Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the best Shounin shows out there. I watched it back in the day on Cartoon Network, liked it, and then rewatched it a bit later (because I never saw the whole thing on CN, getting a part time job prevented me from ever finishing the Dark Tournament, right when it got to the finals too ). Also one of the few shows where I strongly prefer the Dub over the Japanese lol
s-Cry-ed, I do remember watching on Cartoon Network, but I don't remember liking it too much, nor did I catch enough episodes to understand the plot. From what I do remember of it, I probably would enjoy parts of it now, if I rewatched it.
There is a point near the 60-70% part of the series of s-cry-ed that if you have not watched the whole series, would confuse you. Basically a giant plot point happens and a lot of characters get "amnesia".
So unless you watched the whole thing in a short period of time, the story would seem kinda weird/bad. But you should check it out. It's a very short (just googled, 26 episode) anime, and if you cut the intro/ending out of each piece its probably 18-20 mins per episode, so you can watch the whole anime in 2-3 days if you have time.
I've watched many animes that are longer than 26 episodes (I've watched through all 470 something episodes of One Piece for example lol), so the length of it wouldn't scare me away. Right now I just have other anime I have to finish (like LoGH) before I start on anything new.
sCRYed is nice if you don't go in expecting anything amazing story-wise. It's a hot-blood show and one of the last of its kind, and a pretty good one at that. Also Reckless Fire is an all-time great.

Thanks but I've seen it already :< ... any recommendations for something a bit more modern?

Regarding Kanon: I think I liked the Makoto arc the most, probably followed by Mai.
Clannad: Tomoyo > everyone else <3
LoGH: I'm currently rewatching the series, maybe I'll continue past a certain point this time. I just stopped there for a time, and a HD crash forced me to download the series again, a task I put off for a long time. I stopped + Show Spoiler +
after Kircheis died.
Something else, I wanted to rewatch Haruhi with someone who hasn't seen the series so far. Should we watch it in chronological or broadcast order? I watched Haruhi multiple times so far, but only once in broadcast order. The problem: We started with The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina and he said "I don't know if I want to watch this, looks stupid." I have a hard time convincing him otherwise and to try at least the next episodes. I would guess that chronological order would be best in this case, but I'm not sure. (He is not a long-time watcher of anime, but enjoyed most of the recommendations I've given him in the past.)

Pandora Hearts and 07 Ghost are good fantasy manga, not sure how they fared in the anime front. xxxHolic likewise.
I dunno, there isn't as much of an appetite in Japan for straight-up fantasy, so I feel like not only have studios been working on bare bones for a while, they're been picking out from the rubbish pile in LNs; you don't see stuff like Rain and Delfinia being animated, instead you see jokes like Blacksmith. Oh well. If you wanna go far back you can get stuff like Record of Lodoss War but you've prolly seen it already.
Incidentally Phantom isn't tsundere o_O
If you're branching out from fantasy (ala FMP/Phantom), then stuff like Noein, Jyuu Ou Sei, and a few others come to mind that you could check out.

you should look in chronological order. Mikuru Adventures will turn off most people if they are not allready experienced with anime.
