Uh... New Koe de Oshigoto! OVA and TWGOK S2 are must watch for me, maybe the HotD OVA. Nothing else really screams "this will be exceptional" on the first read.
If I had to choose (based only on the one-paragraph summaries on the chart), I would take a look at Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai (why not?), Hidan no Aria (looks cute), Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko (cute alien, maybe), Hana-Saku Iroha (depends) and maybe Steins;Gate (plot sounds interesting).
Things I'll avoid based on the description/pictures: Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi (yaoi *flees*), Tiger & Bunny (wtf.), Deadman Wonderland (the art style is not my type, even though the story sounds "ok")

I just finished Osananajimi wa Daitouryou ~My girlfriend is the President.~
I liked it ^^. The story at first seemed good, but turned out to be very childish. I'm not sure how I feel about that, actually xP. The heroines I felt were kinda generic, but I still enjoyed the routes. I'm kinda sad that the main focus was on Yukinon, but it's understandable. I'm a little disappointed that after choosing 1 route (1 girl, essentially), your contact with the other heroines dropped off significantly. I would have preferred a little more interaction with them in the forms of jealousy, trying to steal you back, trying to raise flags by themselves etc. etc. Kinda felt barren after the choice point, as if all the heroines just gave up on you at that point and started to give you the cold shoulder.
The humor was great I was laughing uncontrollably a lot of times. The conversations were nice and colorful, but the narrative got a little boring after a while.
I dunno if I'm right here, but Irina felt like a real, really nice tsundere. When I compare her to Kirino (OreImo) and Louise Francoise (ZnT) she really felt nice. She is probably also my favourite heroine in terms of interaction with everyone else. Smacking everyone with fans, being serious and loveable etc. Very fun character. I think I also felt more attracted to her becuase she was also unaffected by the brainwashing. Made me feel like I had a bond with her that I didn't with the others.
Although I tried to complete all 4 routes (in English) I completed only 3 in reality. It became impossible at 3 points in the Ran (nee-chan) route. In 2 cases there was a bug that froze up the dialog and didn't let you progress further in the story, while later on there weren't any translations, so you played it raw without understanding anything really.
All 3 endings seemed good (Yukinon, Irina, Ellezia). I don't wanna give out too much (and write too much in spoilers because I'm just THAT lazy) but if I had to pick a favourite ending, it would probably be Yukinon's ending.

Puchin's route is definitely more lovable, since she's tsundere and you have Yukinon being super jealous. On ran route Episode 1 yet to do Ell-route

no Spice and Wolf season 3 so cant be good Spring season

If White Fox did Chaos;Head then I'd say that is a reason to bitch, but if they didn't, Steins;Gate has one of the most excellent source materials to work with, ever. I can also probably safely claim that both Southlight and I will be heavily interested in OreTsuba because of source.
Denpa onna getting animated might promote me to finish reading the stuff from that author.
Oh and Ell route easily the best.

Most renai simulation games will do that because they believe that people are reading it for the actual relationship rather than some kind of a triangle relationship full of drama. There are of course other games that takes the other approach (cough School/Cross Days cough) but this is the standard approach to things. If I want drama I'd pretty much stay away from games of this kind.

For Kirino I'd have to go find the posts I had like about 10ish pages ago arguing that she is in fact not the standard tsundere and that it is something the anime wasn't quite able to flesh out with her relationship with Kyosuke.

Yeah I know what you're getting at. I'm not really looking for drama but more interaction in general. It shocked me a little that an eroge would focus on your choice to that extent. After all, this is my first normal (standard setting?) VN. But to be honest, I enjoyed it the way it is. Elzekiel was so pure and innocent ;D. Certainly the most touching story of the game ^^
I also read your posts about Kirino and the light novels. I went ahead and read the 4 available chapters that are translated. She does seem less 1-dimensional there, than in the anime.
Speaking of Oreimo I just watched ep.10. IMO it was very good ^^; I'm looking forward to more Saori/Ayase in the future. They seem interesting. Does any1 know if there will be a 2nd season?= (
Also, can someone name a good tsundere? (maybe a yandere too?) I'm interested in finding out what you guys consider to be a good character of that type ^^'

Interaction invariably works out to be drama, it is just not easy to work out plot and still write a good amount of the major relationship of focus on top of tying other love rivals in.
Kirino is sadly misunderstood as just a bracon incest figure, or I am overreading the issue There probably won't be a second season, as randomcuriosity or somewhere mentioned that a 'true end' will be covered in the 4 bonus episodes. On another note, why can't they be like a certain company that sounds like they are going broke all the time and have a webstream release cough.
Makise Kurisu is my recent boom for tsundere, so when Spring comes you might be able to watch Steins;Gate and see how she is. Though in terms of the one I root for the most, Kotobuki Nanase from Bungaku Shoujo for sure. For that though you'd simply need to either wait till memoire 3 releases or find some way of reading the LNs, available translated materials up to this point don't do her justice. Yandere...hmm, so many, I am tempted to just say Shiki for the win but that's almost lacking in creativity, guess I'll go think on that.

New orelmo episode made me giggle....We got to see the Kirino dance thing again. Jeez, her excitement is the craziest thing in the world. I have never seen someone get so hyper over a little girl like that.....

Shiki never really gave me a yandere vibe like Yuno from Mirai Nikki. I really have no clue how to describe Shiki, the movies were so weird in some places.
Tsunderes I like are Aisaka Taiga from Toradora and of course Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari thogh tsundere might be not enough to describe her, but I lack the LN knowledge to say that clearly.
where I am not sure if they count as tsundere are Horo and Kyou
and yanderes are so rare the only one from an anime I know is Kotonoha from School Days
|
Both Horo and Kyou count yeah.
As for Shiki, it really comes down to how you define a yandere. The way she was breaking down in chapter 2 definitely qualified her imo. Yuno is just amazingly fun and crazy, but honestly a lot of yanderes get that. It is important to note the coined word only suggests that whole mental sickness issue, it can express itself as aggressively as Yuno or Kotonoha, or it can be something much more passive.
|
ye might be true. I just really have no clue how to define Shiki she is really unique to me.
|
I have not read the books, but at least from the anime Shiki did not seem like a yandere at all. For me yandere has three requirements: A. Must be obsessively in love B. Must be batshit insane/violent C. A must cause B. For example, if you have a character who is nuts and also obsessively in love with someone, but the love does not cause the nuttiness, that person is not a yandere.
For example, in Higurashi Shion is clearly yandere. But if not for Satoshi, she would presumably be normal.
Shiki doesn't seem to fit these requirements, at least not in the anime...
A. She clearly loves Mikiya, but is it obsessive? Kinda, at times, but it doesn't seem obsessive to the degree Yanderes are. B. She's certainly violent, and at least one personality comes across as pretty crazy. C. Not really... I never got the impression that Mikiya was the cause of her violence.
Again, this is non-novel reader but Shiki never gave off a yandere vibe to me.

I'll definitely have a computer by then. TWGOK season 2 should be awesome. I'll probably read the manga as well.
And I just watched Clannad 15 and 16. It was nice to have a couple lighthearted, funny episodes after the bawwfest that was the Kotomi arc. And that last scene in 15 was gold, when + Show Spoiler +Okazaki convinced Nagisa that Sunohara was gay for him.

The main guy has a hidden special ability but chooses not to use it because of his tragic past. Girl forces her way into said guy's life. And so on. I'll still try it, but my hopes are not high...

Like I said, it depends on how you define a yandere. The way the word was crafted doesn't exactly dictate what you have suggested, and in the broader definition the love for the character is not necessarily the trigger for the mental issues.
Also, no, they don't need to be violent by any definition.

Wow if this chart is real anime is going downhill. This year has been full of garbage. Only thing worth watching was gundam unicorn and dragonball kai imo. What ever happened to animes like hunter x hunter and gun grave T_T

If you are talking about Spring chart, with Steins;Gate and OreTsuba, then you can't be any more wrong.
