nono the Mirai Nikki dude is simply a coward more like Simon from TTGL, not like the harem dudes

I didn't watch TTGL, so I wouldn't know, but it doesn't sound as bad as the harem dudes

Wait wait, I'm confused. "A coward like Simon from TTGL"? You mean the same Simon from these (plus many more)?
Did you watch past the first 8 or so episodes of Gurren Lagann?

And dude......'tis amazing. o_O I'm loving the soundtrack soooo much.
Dude, I watched it back in 06. when i was like in grade 6, and it made me fall in love with anime. Eureka Seven is one of the best animes I've watched, I might even choose it over Code Geass, or Clannad as my favorite. Like I'm hearing the soundtrack, and its giving goosebumps. Good times...
God, I think I'll have to come back and edit this tomorrow for my final thuoghts. Because that was an emotional rollercoaster. At first I was laughing at Kotomi's shyness and violin skills. Then the bus accident happens and I'm like "wtf?" And then I learn her backstory and I'm just sitting here like "That's horrible ;_____________________;" But at the end, when she opens that letter from her parents, I don't know why, but some wave of emotion washed over my body and I couldn't stop crying out of happiness.

That's kind of the point, though, and the series would have been drastically different otherwise, including the effect of Yuno.
It's his relative hermitude (via cowardice) that makes him completely ill-equipped to deal with the battle royale, as you can see via his cell phone (which is 100% observational, because he himself never DID anything, nor did he write his opinions). And it's this hermitude that catches him off-guard when Yuno comes in stalking him; he has no one to turn to, and his incompetence at actually doing anything results in escalated levels of dependence on Yuno, despite him knowing it ain't gonna end well. Moreso than any self-sufficient character he draws out the terror of the yandere :/

ye might be true, what annoys me is that he doesnt even bother trying to do anything. It's ok being scared and what not but he really is too much. Well that leads to more Yuno action so that compensates it quite nicely
He doesn't bother trying because Yuno deals with it; he's never had to deal with it because she just butchers everything from the onset. It's why he ends up being more of a Yuno collar, and so he dreads "the impending end."
Made all the more terrifying because of her cell phone, and how it tells them how their relationship will end.............. and so she starts obsessing over that D:
Edit: Also she prevents him from doing anything 'cause he'll get hurt and she can't have that, so that further stunts any possible growth from him.
Point is, the circumstances make him grow more and more dependent on Yuno ;/ Scary.
I don't see how someone can say that Simon in Gurren Lagann was a coward, unless he just watched like the first few episodes and dropped it. Simon grows up into another Kamina by the second arc of the show. :/

that didnt make up for his retardedness in the first half imo

I think you are blowing his "retardedness" in the first 8ish episodes out of proportion. It wasn't even that bad, since Simon would rise to the occasion in almost every single episode to help Kamina fight, or even out-right win their battles (like when he got pissed about the Beastmen causing Earthquakes, or setting that trap for the future Dai-Gurren). And then like midway through the second Arc, he turns into a hot-blooded, manly, charismatic hero like Kamina, and stays that way for the rest of the show (which is like 70~% of the entire show).
@Spazer - I just finished the first episode of Genshiken and it has the same appeal, ty ty ty ty ty. Slice of life anime that comes from a comic book originally has a certain awesomeness other types of anime can't touch. and I'll remember that about Champloo and Bebop.
... And I typed Genshikan when initially searching for it else where, just as I mispelled Bakuman with an e. Will learn some day...

Seconded.
Started watching Kaiji. Pretty interesting, though I'm not used to a protagonist that cries this much :X. I guess it's realistic given the mind-breaking situations he's put in
I was expecting a more over-the-top Royal Heart Breaker in SRW, but it was still a good episode. Pretty much everyone got to do something, which is impressive considering the massive size of the cast right now. IDK what the hell that thing Archibald was piloting was, that wasn't in the game, was it?
