On that note, not sure if you guys know this already but some guy on yt posted a full english translation of Fortissimo EXA//Akkord:Bsusvier as well as its expansion nachsten phase. His username is COMegamanexe A tiny minority, like 3 regular posters in this thread, can actually read Japanese. Has to be more than 3 right? Ecael, Southlight, Kaal, Elem and Rebs? I'm sure I'm missing a bunch.
I use Translator Ecalator and YamatoDamashii to read VNs.
Edit: Hah hah hah Who am I kidding, Eca would never translate anything.

I feels in many ways Shinkai Makoto is the opposite of Miyazaki Hayao, in that Miyazaki is very much macro oriented while Shinkai is micro oriented. Think that many director can take script of Miyazaki's stuff make very successful work, but if any other person tries to direct Shinkai's work would fail miserably.

Well I guess read kana only can reasonably go through VNs, so I guess that count~

Grave of Fireflies is pretty sad, but also uplifting in some way. Definitely worth a watch.

Too bad Kanji predate Kana. But I never understood the point of using two conflicting system either.

Eh, I guess it means that Miyazaki's focus is on overall plot and flow while Shinkai's is on scene and dialogue.

But apparently Kana was invented in the 9th century, which makes it even more puzzling. I guess it could be easier to learn for commoners.
