If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

A tiny minority, like 3 regular posters in this thread, can actually read Japanese.

Has to be more than 3 right? Ecael, Southlight, Kaal, Elem and Rebs? I'm sure I'm missing a bunch.

I use Translator Ecalator and YamatoDamashii to read VNs.

Kaal/Elem/Rebs can read Japanese? News to me.

According to my sources, Kaal can't read japanese, and Elem can only read kana, not sure if that counts. No clue about Rebs.

Well I guess read kana only can reasonably go through VNs, so I guess that count~

Grave of Fireflies is pretty sad, but also uplifting in some way. Definitely worth a watch.

If you are any good at Chinese you can also figure out by context pretty quickly what is wrong and piece out a decent bit of information. Blast was just somehow consistently wrong about most things.
