I don't know how inception was a bigger name than this movie... probably just the cast size. In every single way, surrogates was better than inception. (I'm just saying this to get you to watch it, but surrogates is at least on par with inception).
It's about how the world develops ways for humans to communicate with robots, so then the entire world just plugs into robots and live their lives through their robots.
Anyways, I just watched it because I'm interested in a technological singularity. I don't think a surrogate like world could ever happen because of this singularity.

Holy fucking shit, that was dark.
One of the 2 greatest sci-fi movies ever IMO (along with Alien).
Black Swan (saw this a few weeks ago but have been trying to figure out exactly what I think about it)
I liked it a lot, very refreshing to have the intense psychodrama type thing which I feel like is sort of out of fashion next to all these "true story" type deals recently. Thus even if it does go over the top a bit, I like it.
Reminded me of Fight Club a bit in style/tone (which is awesome), although Fight Club applied it as a razor sharp satire and black comedy which worked a bit more brilliantly than the exploration of art/beauty as a concept which feels more experimental, but also interesting.
Yesterday I saw "The King's Speech". I liked the movie, but I feel like it could have end in 30 minutes 7/10 I also saw "Persepolis", which I really think it's a nice movie. Another 7/10
The movie let the bullets fly is sooooooooooooooooo good!
At first it seems like a western horse and guns, but it turned out to be a psychological thriller, in which the winner is decided by how smart they are instead of how true their bullets are to its target.
This was pretty meh. I still have to rewatch the original to see how it compares.
Luckily it had great preformances in it. Without such a good cast I could'nt see this working. The plot seems so stupid when you look at it, but they hold it together.
Old-school monster movie. Has great special effects for its time, and has great atmosphere. Best way to describe it is Tremors with giant ants. Worth a look if you dont mind B&W movies.
The Original 1953 film. Honestly, I enjoyed the Spielburg remake more this this. It has aged horribly, and they feel the need to stick this romance in the middle of it that just feels awkward. This is a pass for me...
Pandorum 5/10 Meh. Mildly interesting. I fail to understand how this movie was difficult to comprehend for some people. Everything is explained pretty clearly throughout the movie, and the twists are easy to predict. The ending was a good surprise at least.
In The Mouth of Madness 6/10 Other than an abysmal acting performance by the main female character, this was an enjoyable ride. (Though it reminded me of an episode of Are You Afraid of The Dark, just with better production quality.)
Eden Lake 8/10 Excellent european horror flick. Semi-realistic and very well done all around. The villains at times reminded me of the deranged killers "Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs" who videotaped their killing of the victims.

A very popular b-movie with amazing visuals for its time. If I had a raging interest in special effects this film would give me a boner. The premise is great for a teen horror movie, a group of young japanese schoolgirls take a trip out to the country to visit an aunt of their classmate. They start noticing that something is amiss when flying dismembered head starts biting their ass off. Literally.
People compare this with Gran Torino but I think a mix between Gran Torino and Kill Bill would be a better description. Basically an old man going on a revenge trip. I enjoyed most parts of the movie but I thought that the end was a bit over the top. 8/10
Can someone recommend some great comedy movies? Some of my all-time favorites (in no particular order):
* Dumb and Dumber. Amazing replay value - I still laugh even though I've seen every seen dozens of times.
* Harold and Kumar. I enjoyed just about everything in the movie. I love the adventures they go on!
* The Jerk, Planes Trains and Automobiles. Both are classic Steve Martin films.
* South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut. My favorite cartoon series into a movie with some hilarious musicals!
* Team America. Another comedy with hilarious musicals.
* Naked Gun, Airplane. Back when there actually were good parodies rather than this "Scary Movie" crap.
* Don't be a Menace in South Central.... So many hilarious scenes and lines. It also inspired me to watch the blaxploitation movies it parodied from, which were excellent movies in their own right.
* Robin Hood: Men in Tights. I wish more people had seen this movie. For the longest time it was only available on VHS which makes me think it must have been underappreciated.
* National Lampoons Vacation. Mostly the original and the trip to Europe.
* Old School. By far my favorite movie starring Will Ferrell!
* Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore. Remember back when Adam Sandler movies were hilarious?
To be more specific, I'm looking for movies where the emphasis is on the comedic elements. Although I do enjoy action movies with good one-liners and the like, it isn't what I'm looking for here.

The Big Lebowski, Ghostbusters (the two greatest comedies ever IMO)
The 'burbs, Black Dynamite, Clerks, Men in Black, Zoolander, Meet the Parents, Superbad, Office Space, Monty Python's Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Zombieland, Anchorman, Groundhog's Day
probably seen a lot of those but any you haven't, do it.
This is probably the best movie with the highest profile cast that no one saw. It has some of the wittiest dialog around, and follows 3 separate stories that constantly intertwine at certain points for no apparent reason.
^ Snatch was huge in UK, everyone saw it. If you liked it check out Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Same director (Guy Ritchie) and very much in the same style. Lock Stock came first and was a big success so Snatch was pretty much made in the same style following the same winning formula right after.
There's another Guy Ritchie film I saw this week that left quite an impression on me.
A kind of abstract, complex psychological film about the ego. Also fast paced and insanely entertaining, watch the first 10 minutes and you wont be able to press pause until it's over, and then you'll be thinking about it for days/weeks afterwards. Def one of my favourite films and I can't believe I only saw it for the first time a week ago.

Seen LS&2SB (yeah, I invented an acronym for it) and I liked it but I just liked Snatch a helluva lot more. Revolver is another Guy Ritchie movie with Jason Statham so I may check it out.
One of Kusturica's best. The planes, the dialogues and the magic realism in the film are simply beautiful. None of that hyperdescriptive sorry excuses of movies that are made so often nowadays.
