I think it was a pretty good scene with how he just ditched Ygritte and how broken she looked. ^^
He knows they are at war. Remember he almost ran away in S1? That was because he was going south to help out Robb...Really glad he didn't now
I don't think he knows about Winterfell, considering he was north of the wall at the time it happened, and hasn't had any contact with anyone south of it since.
This was a decent estimate of troop numbers, but there is no way to get an acurate number from the show. If you find something better it's probally "tainted" or a complete guess.
the riverun troops is debatable. Riverrun is a kingdom of its own, and its population is higher than that of the North. So why wouldnt the Riverrun host be larger than the Stark host?
There's no way to know. Is it's population really significantly higher than the North? I'm not sure they were ever specifically stated as having a powerful military force, and how many of them died already is a big question. The show just doesn't give you enough, he basically guessed it would be low, as he said.
It's "debatable" but it's not a debate that will go anywhere.
The North is by far the largest 'kingdom' of the 7 kingdoms
It is larger but at the same time less populated due to the strong winters.
Like Canada.
I definatelly agree that is possible, but the guy said it as if it was proven. It can also easily be more populated.
Cercei has explained that the North is sparsely populated and poor, which is why the Southern Armies could never just invade it and annex it. The DVDs after series 1 or 2 explained it as well. The North is like Scotland. Poorer and smaller and more alien/independent from the rest of England.

John Snow knows nothing
of course, he doesn't read books!
He knows how to pleasure a woman without breaking his vow :D

Yea that shot was sick, could have easily been the best scene of the episode, were it any other one ^__^
I imagine Jon will ride to winterfell, but its been razed and held by the Botltens who are now Lanaster men. I hope he keeps his head, I really like that guy.
Wouldn't mind Bran and Jon doing adventures north of the wall together, bran could ride Jon's wolf while mind controlling it!, how cool :D

I'm fairly certain he still broke his vows, if comments about his pretty pecker are to believed. Also, that does raise the question of when he has broken them. What level of sexual intimacy counts?
Because this is important damnit. If he's still a virgin, he may qualify for wizardhood like Sam.

Ygritte specified she wanted him to break his vows. I don't think she would have settled for less, either.

yeah, instead of warning the last guys manning the wall that the wildling's army is incoming, makes sense. pretty sure the dude isnt going to winterfell anytime soon.

lol, Bran could mind control Hodor and hold himself.
So, can we assume that they killed basically everybody on Rob's side? Or only the ones inside the castle but not the camp outside? And what about Edmure Tully and his new wife? Is he still alive and supposed to follow through with the marriage (even if Rob is now gone)? And would he not seek revenge for Cate if given the chance?

In the preview of the next EP there are burning Stark banners and tents, so I imagine it was a total slaughter.

I guess we'll have to wait to know. They could have just killed him but I understand that he's the heir to Riverrun so he would be a very nice hostage. I think Riverrun still has troops so he could be used to make sure they back off.

I used only show information to compile the numbers. The show never says anything about the population of the Riverlands, or their armies. Since them + the North are constantly mentioned to be considerably outnumbered by the Lannister troops Riverrun could not have contributed much. I'll wait for next episode and maybe update them to 5k, but so far the show does not give us any reason to believe there is many rebel troops left in the Riverlands.

There is scenes of drinking soldiers outside being murdered as well, so I doubt many that went with survived at all.

Blackfish could get away. I don't know if they decided to kill Edmure or keep him as hostage to control the Riverlands. His new wife was very pretty which seems to be rare for Freys so I suspect that she might just be a hired whore. Everyone else should be dead.

He (and more importantly, the rest of the Tullys) can't seek revenge if they hold him hostage, and the Freys stand the most to gain if they keep him there married to their family. Can't imagine they'd kill him after gaining that political foothold, because they just made some major enemies.
I'm curios if they will explain why the Targaryens lost their power or at least why their dragons became extinct. The house lost their power partly because of their insanity and partly because their dragons wasted away and never grew large. Was it poor diet? Not enough killing? Some sort of sickness because the dragons were also inbred? What if Daenerys' dragons never grow large? Tywin and many others think her dragons are just "curiosities" that will never grow larger than having "skulls the size of apples." She's doing fine without using the dragons as monster killers mostly the dragons have just been good bait for greedy people. It would be crazy if she did manage to conquer Westros without using large dragons, but I could see it happening if she got more allies like Bravos which could happen given the crown owes millions to Bravos and Bravos gets "they always get their money one way or another".
