He has got something epic brewing.

no Robb or Stannis this episode.
Very little Tyrion = a bit disappointing, but otherwise really nice episode. You could definitely smell the burned money in the last few scenes :p

Great, great episode. The dialogues in this episode were all superb. And the final scene in Astapor was just like I imagined.

Haha, yeah Dolorous Edd is one of my favourite characters in the series. His cynical comments throughout the series/books are great.

Yeah it makes me feel like Jorah is gonna be screwed. He's only exiled because he sold people as slaves.

Did you see the look on his face? Thats a sadistic motherfucker right there and hes probably just toying with Theon. Him having the keys to the tower along with the words of the guard he killed last episode makes me think he is the bastard son that was supposed to take back Winterfell. Still confused about who burned down Winterfell tho. + Show Spoiler + Look at that. Not even Joffrey looks like that when he does something horrible.

She does have SOME money, she didn't give any gold (from what they stole in S2) or her ship to the slaver. All that was worth what, 35 soldiers? I'm going to guess the soldiers are VERY expensive to buy, which means she has some money to feed them for the time being.

didn't she use money to buy boats? so she can ship her army of over 9000 back to the middle earth and retake mordor?

Wow, didnt even think about that. If she turns on Jorah that would be so fucked up after all he has done for her. Im hoping this is just one of those things that will never be mentioned again.

I'm bad with remembering names and characters, so who was the leader with the one blindfolded eye in the cave again?
edit: Also Theon's helper is one evil motherfucker. I barely even understand what's going on with that plotline but I guess we just got another interesting but also evil character now. Like we don't already have enough of em!

Shows that in the end both sides are equally bad be it Lannister or Bolton men. The only thing setting the two sides apart is Robb, but just like with the allies and the nazis, the victor is the one that writes the history. I fixed it for you. Sorry, but it is a big difference. I doubt Robb ordered that or would approve. Even if he didn´t, it shows that the MEN are all equally bad. The only thing setting the sides apart again is Robb who seems rather honorable. The rest? I have my doubts Robbs bannermen are any better then any Lannister bannermen and i think this was the whole point of the scene, to show that there is no "good" or "evil" but just equal doses of good and bad deeds. Mountain gets an order from Tywin to raze riverlands. He captures and tortures civilians (as was shown in s2), he murders prisoners of war (harrenhall s3) Some Bolton men torture and maim an escaped prisoner that murdered his own cousin and escaped captivity and you say, well they are all the same LOL Lord Bolton wanted to torture the Lannister prisoners too. Seems his house just likes torturing - he even took it as his sigil. Not as bad as the Mountain, who goes after civilians, but they're not winning any morality medals either. And Robb didn't let them. That is why it is important to not judge all Stark soldiers like they are Boltons. Yeah of course. My point was more that the Bolton men aren't just torturing an escapee murderer, they're happy to do it to any prisoner. You can definitely compare them in brutality to the Mountain - it's just Robb keeping them (somewhat) in check.

Sir Beric Dondarrion.
In season one Ned stark ordered him to take 100 men and go and kill 'the false knight' Gregor Clegane (the Mountain).

Ah I faintly remember Ned ordering it (I think at least). Did the TV show (no book spoilers!) make clear if he succeeded with that at this point? Also what was the reason for that again? Season 1 was so long ago

Clearly Berric is hopeless against the Hound, unless his fire god can help him somehow.

Man, such an awesome episode. The build up is going extremely well.

In the latest episode (S3E04) Beric says that Ned Stark ordered him in the name of Robert Baratheon to kill the mountain, but the hound Ned and Robert are both dead while his brother the mountain is still alive.
The reason Ned ordered it was because Robert went on a hunting trip leaving Ned in charge. A peasant came to court and said that a big guy was leading a band of soldiers around the Riverlands, murdering and pillaging. Ned realized that the big guy was the mountain and as the Riverlands was ruled by his wife's family he declared the Mountain and outlaw and gave the order.

By the way - I'm sure everyone knows NOT to use the ice and fire wiki, but you CAN use the game of thrones wiki. They have only what's relevant in the show. At the bottom is a a section labeled "In the books", which is a huge block of pure text that you can easily avoid. So far, the most spoiler-free way to look who characters/places/etc since there are so goddamn many of them to keep track of.

Don't you see the fear in the Hound's eyes? :p Beric has been mentioned elsewhere in the series too, when Jaime and one of the Stark men are talking about their first kill. He's good

The Mountain is alive so no. My theory is that he was killed and was ressurected by the priest. He says they are all ghosts, he has a scar on his throat, the part about anyone would be a believer if they saw what they have seen and we all know what the red ladys god is capable of.

@ hzflank Okay thanks, appreciate it!
