Oh - the Reeds say they are friends with Ned Stark, and that the the older one (head of his house?) saved Ned Stark's life once. Why aren't the Reeds part of the Stark bannermen? If they were that close I'd imagine they're one of the first to join Robb.

It's intresting how they changed Jaime's image. He was a cocky scoundrel in season 1 and now he's portrayed as sad and suffering person. People are starting to feel sorry for him, completely forgetting about what he did in the past. It's good to see every character has a personality, one dimensional super villains are boring. Theon's situation is very confusing and I have no idea what is going on. It was predictable that his family wouldn't try to save him but everything else remains a mystery to me. I hope I won't be dissapointed when they'll reveal the truth. Bran has been chasing imaginary crows for three seasons and I'm starting to get angry whenever I see him on the screen. It's not like I don't like him or anything but his story is not as intresting as others. I guess he'll be much more important later but right now it's just boring. The scene in slave city (Astapor?) was cool. It seems like wherever Daenerys goes, she leaves only ashes and blood behind. She might have an army now but it's still much weaker than any force in Westeros (unless everyone abandoned Stannis again). The dragons are too young and while Unsullied might be very tough and loyal, they're just poorly equipped footmen. Also I don't think they were trained to fight agaisnt armored knights and heavy cavalry.

Very little Tyrion = a bit disappointing, but otherwise really nice episode. You could definitely smell the burned money in the last few scenes :p
Tyrion is a great character but we dont need to see him every episode because nothing is happening in his storyline. His scenes so far has been one great scene with Tywin and the rest has been comic relief.

I don't think they know that he's afraid of fire.

The Unsullied are such a force. Makes me wonder why the richer houses haven't bought them already. Right now the Lannisters have an idiot for a king and they have multiple enemies closing in. And that's not even taking into account the massive army Daenerys has and her dragons which continue to grow. I mean ...weren't they the richest house? Doesn't it make sense for them to have picked up the Unsullied. They seem just too good not to be sold out like hot cakes.
As someone who hasn't read the books I've always thought from the first episode that ofc at some point the white walkers will be back and so will the dragons. Fire being the only weakness of the white walkers makes me think humans will want to use the dragons against the walkers. But Daenerys just taking the throne and defending the 7 kingdomes just seems to lack drama so Daenerys has to be defeated and then asked for help. And the only way I see Daenerys being defeated right now is via some unlikely alliance. Because the Lannistars sure as hell don't have the man power or any power to stop her (or atleast from what the show is showing).

Slavery is illegal in Westeros.

They don't know about Danny afaik, there have only been whispers of dragons so far, something the council laughed at the same they did at the walls talks of winter is coming and what not. And she JUST got an actual army, so will take them some time to even hear that.

And Astapor is pretty far away even with a ship. Not to mention the costs.

My point is - there is a huge army in the middle of the desert just waiting to be taken. Jorah knew about it, surely there are people in Westeros who know about it too. Right now the Lannistars are under siege from everywhere and they have loads of cash. They could have just bought the Unsullied (call them servants not slaves) and send them to fight Robb and Stanis. The dead cost nothing. Either the Unsullied finish the job and save the Lannisters from all their trouble, or they die do massive damage and end up costing nothing to sustain.

How do you know they aren't? We barely get any names from the bannermen in the tv-show. Bolton, Karstark and Umber are the only ones who's been represented with actors with spoken lines so far.

The Lannisters visibly ignoring the laws of Westeros is not going to help their current objective of alliance-building either.

Damn so many good moments this episode.
Lord Varys revenge plot, Theon's confession while walking to the chamber, seing the chamber get lit up and realize they are back at the cross again (my heart sunk, seriously wow), Margaery getting Joffrey to go out and meet the people, The Crows scene at the incest dude, The Hound scene and of course the trade scene.

Daenerys' valyrian is very attractive. Jack Gleeson is making Joffrey too tsundere and likable.
