The only way they could have been less subtle about the issue is showing Renly and Loras banging...
I loved the Queen of Thornes-scene. Sansa absolutely nailed it.
"He [Renly] suggested something to me that...sounds very painful and couldn't possibly result in children" also cracked me up.

But again - she does all this to be in a place of power, but who is SHE? What will she do with the power? She's a very intriguing character and one I'm terrified of, simply because there has yet to be an upstanding citizen south of Winterfell and it's going to take a lot of convincing for me to believe this conniving girl is going to use her power to help the common man.

What were they doing with Theon's foot? Did they put it in a vice or drill a hole in it or something? It was pretty creepy.
Lady Olenna was hilarious :D

The Queen of Thorns herself says in the episode that the Lord of Highgarden is determined for Margaery (his daughter) to be Queen. Margaery may simply be making the best of it by playing along with Joffrey as she is stuck with him no matter what.
|
Isn't that the same guy that the Queen of Thorns dissed for being a lame son or something? I don't remember her exact words, and I think she was more trying to build rapport with Sansa and make her feel at ease by making fun of her own family, but she sounded like she's only half joking.
|
Why is everyone calling her Queen of Thorns, I don't remember that name being given to her in the show yet?! Too many book readers in this topic again? :D

You should read the books, that way you avoid spoilers

Margery is probably one of the most manipulative characters in the show

Cersei knows for sure that Margery is winning the game for now, so I wonder how she will try to stop it? This storyline has become really interesting. Yeah ever since the dinner table scene in the first episode it's been clear that cercei is uncomfortable with maegery. Knowing Cersei she will probably try come up with a scheme to ruin maegeries reputation.
Joffrey as a person is weak, and his only semblance of power lies with his title. He seems to be drawn to assertive women, seeing how Cersei is and how he seems attracted to Margaery. He wants to be played, but not questioned. Cersei knows all this, and because Margaery share many of her traits, shes afraid to not be the main influence.
My guess Cersei's play will be around Loras' homosexuality and Joffreys aversion towards it, probably involving some blackmailing.

Those are the ones she has to outplay. The orphanage thing I think was multi-faceted. One point is building the image of being "the queen" among the people, another was to test Joffrey's reaction to understand him better.

Those who made the deal with the iron islanders and captured Theon, but we don't know who they are yet. Probably one Northern tribe that isn't so loyal to the starks after all and seized the opportunity to get rid of them now they are weak and far away. I was under the impression he was on the Iron Islands, and that this was some kind of hard lesson from his father. Especially as his sister had a messenger present.

Didn't think of that. That makes sense indeed Father won't be pleased then, he's screaming for mercy like a pig

I think so too. As soon as she heard from Sansa Joffrey is a monster, she knows what he likes and tells him how she wants to kill something.

well another thing, how come karstark thought that himself and other men lost faith in robb's cause when he married that lady i forgot her name...she's really hot though. I understand he broke the oath with frey, but i highly doubt the frey's were much of an asset to robb whether he married the hot girl or not.

The Freys provided men for his army as well as some protection for any Lannisters that wanted to attack the North.
Mod Edit: Removed minor spoiler

I suppose so, even then i dont see how it's war ending but come to think of it karstark has been reckless himself and has bias to aid his opinions (loss of sons etc)

Also because the King of the North didn't live up to his promise, while he got the passage over bridge. So his word can't always be trusted. People in his army might look at it like his personal needs are more important to him than theirs, making them less willing to fight for him.

I can't help but feel that if season 1&2 was about cutting off the Stark/Targaryan children from their parents and seeing how well they fare without them, season 3 seems to be leading towards the same thing for the Lannisters. Feels like the main focus of the story is slowly shifting from the wars of the aged to how their offspring carry it on. Seems like there's a continuous shift towards youth, now with Bran taking more importance and presumably Rickon will eventually as well, otherwise he's been completely useless to the show so far.
Because of this, I predict Tywin and Caitlin both die in this season. Probably Cersei too, just to throw Joffrey into the same situation. Sadly, I predict he doesn't kick the bucket

Fairly useless but not totally, Bran found out he has the same dreams. I think it was about Winterfell being swallowed by the sea.

I think cersei will die next season, she's too good of a character to just throw away right now like she has the new rivalry or competition with maegery that's just begun. the thing with ned was that his purpose as a character was to reveal the twist and be on with it, aka dead. Cersei is the kind of character whos role is to pose threat and now they have a new sub story for her - her power is being over taken by someone younger, potentially smarter, more beautiful. Cersei's story is going from victimed wife (season 1) to string pulling power obsessed mother (season 2) now to out with the old, in with the new, if you know what i mean..
I think Tywin will die i just have a hunch maybe tyrion will try do something because as far as i know tywin hasn't written a will yet so the rightful heir is Tyrion and in episode 1's father and son moment we saw a good motive for a plot against Tywin from tyrion.
I don't actually care about cat

You guys shouldnt worry too much about who is important to the show and who is not. Thats just asking for spoilers. Most of the time there are just wrong predictions, i bet a lot of people are itching to correct you :D
