The Dorne storyline - what a waste of screen time. Two 'Murican characters randomly team up to travel to Dorne with no supplies, inside contacts, or knowledge of the area, to improvise a "rescue operation" on the fly. The kind of operation that ignores any resultant political repercussions, like jeopardising the objective of the arranged marriage, and potentially starting a war. But it's all good; the are 'Murican. They will wing it, and do it with style, attitude, and humour.
But it's okay; I can accept the terrible premise and execution if something interesting comes out of it.
Nope! Ellaria gets a slap on the wrist, Jaime gets a mild scolding, and Bronn wonders whether he got lost on a sitcom set. Everyone forgives each other, the ties of friendship are now stronger, it was all a big misunderstanding. Cue laugh track, still frame, roll credits.
Good summary. And killing those three soldiers was totally fine, actually nobody noticed...
They better get their shit together on that Dorne front. Nothing makes sense.

From what we saw in the episode preview this ritual changes the weather and gives them the opportunity to attack. I doubt it'll do much more than that.
But for EVERYTHING else I'm calling bullshit. Remember that they didn't do a sacrifice to kill like 5 very important people and just used Gendry's blood. If that's the case then they could just take shireen's blood instead of killing her. It's pretty clear that part of this is just coincidence rather than any actual magic.
You seem to be misunderstanding that magic doesn't work that way... The slugs were a specific sort of magic: burning a slug on the fire with the kings blood and saying their name = cursing that person to die. Red lady even flat out told Stannis slugs wouldn't work this time when he asked.

Holy moly did not expect Drogon to show up and burn thse harpye guys and Daenerys riding Drogon was even more unexpected. Those Tyrion/Jorah/Daario/Missandei looks in the last shot haha, that was when they realized they are supporting the one true queen.

I'm sorry, but Stannis burning his only daughter alive just is not plausible. I didn't even feel sad during the scene, because there is no way in my mind that a man like him, who stands for honour and integrity, could literally burn his daughter alive. I imagined they would do it quickly and painlessly. But when I saw the fire stand thing, I literally started laughing.
I know GRRM loves to write shit this way, but I think this time he crossed a line where the absurdity outweighs the emotions it's supposed to invoke.
GRRM is showing the greed of human nature, he is showing what it takes and what people will do to become king. A lot of you guys are saying this is cheesy and can't happen, but you're wrong, Stannis believes he is the SAVIOR of the realm and will do what it takes to protect the realm. Good people do terrible things to get what they truly desire.
Also for the Ramsey sneaking in, it was actually a brilliant tactical move because everyone knows how strong the walls of winterfell are. If you are in a great castle that is very very difficult to siege when snow is falling everywhere, sending a small surprise attack to burn food and kill horses is a great battle tactic and caught them off guard.

The scene depicting the attack going on is pretty ridiculous though. You see the guard patrolling, then Melisandre getting her spidey senses tingling, and then the fire starts in one place. Okay, a big fire in one tent, believeable.
Then, other fires catch on ALL over the camp. Almost in a grid-like pattern. At the same time. Yet nobody saw a thing?
I believe they didn't see it coming, not "didn't see anyone". If you sneak into a camp, and plan it all at the same time, you can can get out before ppl have time to react, especially if they are sleeping and escape the way you came.

I thought it was very obvious that Ramsey and his men used long fuses on their little fire bombs in order to ensure they got back out of the camp before it went ablaze.

Just neatly placed timed incendiaries activated by mobile phone
Ramsay defeated the ironborns best soldiers in his underpants. He's the best ninja in westeros.
The Shireen scene was just poorly executed, I think.
First off, the mother's reaction doesn't make sense. She borderline hated that Shireen survived a deadly disease while her 3 sons died very early (remember the jars?); she kept blaming herself for not providing an heir. Further, she is a religious fanatic entirely devoted to the god of light and would do anything to help serve Melisandre.
Conversely, Shireen is the closest thing Stannis came to truly loving. There was an opportunity to highlight that fact by having Stannis, normally a very stoic and reserved character, go into his tent after the burning and break down emotionally for the first time in 5 seasons, before quickly composing himself. That would also further accentuate how big a sacrifice he has willingly made for the cause he believes in.
Instead we just got a bad guy painted in black and white. Maybe I just don't get it.
God fucking damn it Stannis the Mannis, why did you have to go and do that, I believed in you.
Was honestly pretty scared that Tyrion would die for some reason. I don't really have a reason for that other than it's fucking episode nine. Stannis burning his daughter was so sad though. Man screaming children makes me feel sick in my stomach. :/
Also Drogon being a good boy and saving his mum was pretty neat. The Unsullied really need to step up their game though. Those guys aren't worth their money atm.

Amazing episode though!
The Water Dance teacher died to a pedophile, I refuse to believe that! =(
People who are squeemish about shit in GoT must really dislike human history and reality in many places in the world. Both are reprehensible, but anyone who's read the past knows that far worse has happened and is happening today than what has been shown in the shows.
