And apparently the mother sucks at explaining shit, as the neighbor across the street was attacked by a walker anyway. Exactly this. The behaviour of the characters don't make sense at all! On September 01 2015 14:31 dudeman001 wrote: We all live in a culture where we have zombies movies and a 5 season zombie tv show that's so popular AMC, the same fucking station, made a second zombie show. We all understand that the character with the best chance to survive in FTWD right now is that chubby high school kid that talks like an adult. But everyone acting like that isn't real. It isn't human. Human beings don't abandon each other at the first sign of trouble because they're afraid. When we think there's danger we band together and help with our loved ones, not immediately think of bashing their skulls in or abandoning them to save ourselves. I get what you are trying to say. But what bothers me it not necessarily a reaction like the one the mom had when she saw the zombie school director. In my opionion they react really fast and do have an idea of what's going on. They immideatly decide to gather everyone and flee into the dessert instead of just trying to stay safe at home, warn their friends and families and wait it out. But on the other hand, although they seem to realize that this is serious, their execution of the plan is way to relaxed. Father calls his son like: "Hey, you ok? Please come home, I kinda need to talk to you". A worrying father would tell him whats going on, that his life is in danger and there would be some emotion in his voice. They also dont tell their daughter whats going on. If I was her I would freak out and demand an explanation. But she is just kinda ok with nobody telling her anything and is even kinda fine with leaving behind the man she loves (who by the way got bitten, but also doesn't tell shit).

But yes the people in this show are pretty unbelievable Kudos to whoever decided to just leave the door open so the zombie could get in the house

That fucking pickup truck left intact in the middle of a riot however.... well, tbf, it's been said in the FTWD reddit thread that not all vehicles were damaged in the baltimore riots. so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that the pickup truck was left unscathed. probably helps that it is a little bit banged up already. travis however, is a complete idiot. "they are just sick". yea... ok...

One thing I always think watching these shows: does zombie lore just not exist in the world where these shows exist? Like you meet seemingly undead beasties trying to eat you and they say, "hmmm, you must be sick, let's cuddle and see if that will help."

I think their point is that every other monster movie/trope to ever be made still exists in that universe. Even if you've never heard of a zombie, you might think these are similar to vampires. Either way, they don't act like normal people who have been exposed to decades of monster flicks. I might buy it if it was a universe where horror movies/genre didn't exist as a whole. Otherwise meh.

I know that people on the internet like to think that if they were faced with a neighbor who was shambling around and moaning, they'd immediately jump into zombie survival mode, but in the real world people wouldn't go from normal, every day life to "kill everything that looks different" overnight. Especially regular people who aren't into nerdy things. In fact, they already did address your point by having that nerdy kid catch on immediately after he read it on the internet. He's basically your average net dweller and went full panic mode while the rest of the average population was scratching their heads and dying.

That's the reason why they call them walkers. Because the term zombie doesn't exist in that world. If people knew about zombie's lore, there would not be a zombie apocalypse in the first place.

Of course you wouldn't kill your shambling neighbor if she was the first zombie you've ever seen. But they've already dealt with the addicted son's zombie dealer, Travis has witnessed multiple zombie attacks and shots fired at zombies in the city, and Maddie has even had a fight to the death with her zombified colleague at school. Also, the whole world is going down the drain. They should long have realized that something serious is up and extreme caution is required.
