+ Show Spoiler + I cannot believe they actually did a Korrasami ending. As soon as Asami approached Korra at the end there I was expecting something that suggests it, but that wasn't subtle at all lol. Hiroshi dying, the Earth Kingdom going democratic, and Bataar jr. instantly changing sides were all too obviously going to happen, but most everything else I loved. I'm glad none of the parts felt rushed. It moved along at a good pace, but it was consistent with the plot so it felt right. The spirit portal appearing is a great idea. I'm still processing it but overall a satisfying end.

+ Show Spoiler + They actually went for it. They did Korrasami! I mean, they didn't kiss or anything, but that was damn near the same. They pushed it as far as they could. Loved the finale. Soooo damn great. I have to admit, I was a bit miffed when I understood there would be no 1v1 versus Kuvira and Korra, but the rest is just awesome. Vaatu's energy creating a new spirit world actually makes so much sense, since he said himself it was he who tore through the spirit world to join the physical world. And Hiroshi. Damn. I was happy to see him come back, but when he was cutting the armor, I knew he was going to sacrifice himself. Still, that was awesome. Honestly, I was hoping for a showdown between Kuvira and Korra in the spirit world. Kinda like when you defeat Safer-Sephiroth at the end of FF7, and then the battle follows by a 1v1 between Cloud and Sephiroth in some sort of other world. Also, so much awesomeness with "do the thing", Varrick and Zhu Li. Loved that part too. I would give the finale 9/10, even with that stupid giant. As I paid close attention, I realised it does follow Kuvira's bending movement pretty nicely. It's a nice touch, but there are still many holes around that concept. Whatever though, I LOVED IT! DAAAAAAAAAAMN. That was so great.

That non-subtle lesbian relationship was pushed to the limit in a children cartoon lol. The writers got a lot of balls to go that far.

regarding the the kanji in the end: 終 means ending, someone knows the other kanji? looks a bit like 家 and と, so 家と終 could mean family(or home) and end, but since the first sign is not 100% the same and japanese is not nescessarily the correct language here (chinese could mean something different) also:+ Show Spoiler + i love how suu beifong says to kuvira that she will be judged for her crimes, can place her stupid son right next to her... and in all honesty, if kuvira plays her cards right and helps the transition with her army (that wont simply vanish and is best controlled by having her disband them slowly) i think she will dodge most punishment no problem... also majorly disappointed that the other avatars did not come back, the next one should also erase his only previous life, because who would bear listen to her advice xD and a last edit: AVATAR - the legend of Varrick! when sidecharacters take the spotlight over all others.

This is the saddest i have ever felt about a show ending. I liked ATLA but i wasnt totally into it when it was originally airing, this is 1000x worse. Im so down right now :<

It just means "The End". 劇終 (Traditional) vs 剧终 (Simplified)

Also, the K vs K battle was pretty good. Korra would have won flat out won if there wasn't so much metal around. Plus called the spirit bending.

The reality is that it was CLICHE. Read any female authored bullshit fanfic online if you want that sort of shit. The ending was also again cliche, exactly the same as season three, where suddenly the villain suddenly has an abrupt diarrheaic explanation for why they are evil and the good guys win. You're never happy, man. All you do is curse and swear and shit on everything. It's pretty depressing. If your posts were constructive I could accept it, but that's not even it. You could have insisted on the many logical absurdities around the mechatank (which really is the biggest flaw of that finale, except maybe the lack of a showdown between Kuvira and Korra where the former goes down in flames), but no, you just shit on it and that's it. Lighten up a little bit, will you?

Zaheer's explanation was really early in season 3, when he talked to Korra in the spirit world. Do you really think a high percentage of female fanfics end with two bisexual girls starting a relationship together? At best that's usually the START of a crappy fanfic. I also like how you think two people holding hands and staring into each others' eyes is supposed to be edgy. I'm guessing you just don't know what the word means and you're regurgitating buzzwords in a negative context.

Who cares about fanfic, they can write whatever they want and dont have to worry about anything. Korra writers have to worry about North Korea saying no. Ok that was a joke but really, openly gay in a western series for children? Thats pretty unheard of, so yes id say it is pretty progressive.

I'm not sure about Kuvira's characterization. The writers seemed to drift between making her a Machiavellian villain purely interested in power and someone with genuine political beliefs, seemingly to maintain intrigue about her character. I think in the end you can never quite buy her various transformations.

They beat the platinum device to death, other than that (and the mecha) I really liked it. Also happy about Korrasami I agree, plotwise it was really disappointing, the whole giant mech was such a weak plotdevice and came out of nowhere. Theres no explanation how it would make any sense as to how it could have been build, if Bataar was busy with the weapon all the time and where all that platinum came from. Also it just doesnt fit the avatar theme. I would have much preferred just a bigger tank with the gun strapped on it and then a huge army vs army fight breaking out for control of it as it marches into RC. But i guess the funding just wasnt there for large scale fights so they had to do with this, also they seem to have a hard on for giant monsters... The resolution of all of it in the end was really really awesome though.

Also, were the Varrick bits cringeworthy? I fast forwarded through all of them because I didn't dare to listen to them. Asami's father having some role to fulfill and heroically sacrificing himself was expected, but to my shame I didn't personally see it coming. :/

To be fair, acquiring ore was a pretty big plot point throughout the entire season. It still doesn't explain how they have the technology to make it, but it's at least something. Great finale, lot of stuff I liked about it. Sure could use an epilogue follow-up though because there's a lot more that could and should be explained. But at least they didn't just straight up kill her like they all seemed to want to do.
