Greed island is really good. The series stops abruptly though but that's due to all the chaos that has been around this series, hopefully the new one gets there fast

Reza saids that gon is "most definently his son" so most likely Gin is a bigger monster then Gon is
his nen ability is most likely reinforcement but thats jsutgoing off his son and his knickname (boar) while thats not really much evidence but looking at his personality its not like hes really stubborn or headstrong or such that you would normally associate with a boar

the ending was very good (right before ant arc). It would've been terrible if they had gone a little farther or stopped just short of that point due to all the chaos you referenced. I still would've preferred a continuation rather than a remake though, but I guess all or most of the voice actors, along with producers, would have been changed and it would've been weird for new people to continue such an old but great anime. Can't wait to see Killua tear out a heart with new animation

I always wondered, who were the other members of Greed Island. All I can remember is we know of G, R, E, E, D, L. I don't recall who I, L, A, N, D were in the series. Also, I would really love to know which of the Game Masters were responsible for the nen monsters/card system, as well as the NPCs as the whole human population of Greed Island is just 10k right?
Was just curious as it was never clarified. =)

yeah i just found the same in hunter x hunter wiki that he is top 5 nen users, but what about triple star ? i read in wiki that he can become triple star hunter because he meets all the requirements, what does stars represent? is it only more stars = more power? what are the requirements to get those stars?

great summary. I didn't like chimera ant for the same reason, it seems the power boundaries kept getting pushed further and further... Ant king gaining powers was like frieza frightening you at the end of each episode with another evolution form. Then Gon with his stunt is like super saiyan.
But I'm glad the manga is finally continuing  I was a fan since I was like 12

I hope they don't butcher any of the main fights in the new series. That, we'll have to wait and see.
Hmm yes hisoka does sound different. Gon never had a distinctive voice for me, so its fine.
You're right about the music. The original anime music was pure epic. There were some touching/sad tunes that really stood out.

Secondly, it's become a lot like dragonball. Clash between two powers, and the entire arc revolves around following the participants talk shit to each other and power-up themselves, while onlookers chime in by being marveled by nen-levels etc.
They need to bring kurapika/leorio and hisoka/zoldyck/spiders back as soon as possible imo.

Stars are earned based on the contribution of each individual hunter's work. Despite everything that has been said about Gin, he is only a Double Star Hunter, and there could be a lot of reasons. Quoting directly from the wiki page, "Ging already has the qualifications and can easily be a Triple Hunter".
As for more power, this was never exactly mentioned, but I'd imagine there will be certain perks.

i started reading hunter x hunter like 2 months ago, so I just happened to catch up when the ant arc ended anyway :D
in general, the arc was good. but towards the latter 1/3 of it, things really started to drag simply because there were so many god damn characters that the author had to bring closure to and it got to be way too much. still, i feel like things are back on track now and i'm really enjoying the whole save gon thing :D
