Morau is hella strong though, I'd put him on Hisoka/Illumi's level to be honest. He's was single hunter but he jumped straight to triple after the chimera ant arc if that's an indication of where he stands.

I think the simplest answer for the question of why and how Netero was the main person sent was that it was his decision. It seems to have been quite a while since he has faced a worthy adversary and so I think the logic would suggest that he did not deem it necessary to bring them. It could be fact that Netero might have higher double/triple stats than the rest but keep in mind that the chairman is elected and therefore Netero might have very well been a very powerful single. Just look at Leorio who is part of the election. I'm not saying it is a definite fact, but you can not rule out that possibility just quite yet.

I think those 2 Netero took were his own students, Netero couldn't ask anyone else other than his own students, if the entire zodiac 12 went into wipe out the ants they would have done it without Netero dying. and If the world government really wanted, they would have just nuke that place to stone ages along with all the innocent citizen.

Mayyybe, but we can't know that for sure. The ants were truly broken characters, since none of them actually took any damage from the hunters whatsoever (except Pitou). This combined with the fact that the ants were on the onset of their evolution and were just beginning to discover their nen abilities....ugh. If all 12 Zodiacs ganged up on the ants with preemptive strike, then sure they might have won. That said, the King after absorbing the two Royal Guards was overpowered to the extent of probably being able to take on the entire hunter x hunter cast by himself given his speed and ridiculous nen alone.

Oh and if Puto didn't die, he could have healed the king from that nuclear radiation.

Togashi presented him as a fun-seeking child who just wanted to make friends, only he struggled at times with his own dark tendencies and past. The anime turned him into a darker, kept-to-himself character entirely. This may have changed, but it bothered me so much I stopped watching it. The darker introduction to Killua in the first series was mainly due to filler content, specifically the extra character development detours in the first phase of the main exam and the initial airship flight (especially that angsty internal monologue). But that's really limited to the first dozen or so episodes. The filler largely ended after that, and it didn't seem terribly out of character for him anyway. His psychological warfare with Tonpa and Anita, for instance, wasn't all that different from how he threatened Sadaro and Riehlvelt later in the Arena arc. And it was secondary to the funloving chocolate ball addict he plays around Gon. On November 25 2011 00:10 Fishball wrote: The new series is just too kiddy-like for me. The stupid theme music that plays when things are supposed to be "funny", the "main" Hunter theme that plays when its at an episode's climax (holy shit these two pieces makes me cringe hard); The dialogue, the tone of the voice actors and their expressions; It's just too "immature". And no, this is not because I've aged. I actually went back and re-watched half of the first Hunter series, and you can tell the overall tone is just darker and more mature. Then we have the new voice actors. I know there is a certain degree of personal preference, but I've seen tons of people share the same thoughts with me. Some voices just doesn't fit in as well as the original. Gon (10 times girlier) and Hisoka (lots of people loves the old Hisoka voice) sticks out like a sore thumb for me. I'm not really into the new fanfare stuff or toony sound effects, but some of the suspense/battle music works better than the first series. The new ending theme is also starting to grow on me. It took me a while to warm up to Hisoka's original campy sadist voice, but after nearly a hundred episodes, I couldn't imagine him any other way. His new, deeper voice... it's not wrong, exactly. It's just so... different. I'd need to give it more time, I guess. On November 25 2011 12:45 politik wrote: I thought the two guys who went with the chairman to help fight the ants were elite guys? The strongest fighter in the world could be a starless rookie... On an unrelated note... Paladiknight? Seriously? ![]()

You should check out the manga, so far in the remake no fillers. Yup starless rookie can be the strongest but then again the strongest Nen user probably isn't a Hunter. These few chapters from the new arc so so so goddamn good. But the Japanese obviously don't think so or they are too young to remember what this masterpiece is all about. Weekly Jump Rankings Seriously, can't wait to see some serious Nen battles going on. Illumi is a total baws man, as soon as Hisoka mentioned it, Illumi might aswell have killed him there straight up. I still wonder who would win in a proper battle. And as to how far they know eachothers Nen powers.

In that light, the new, more manga focused anime reboot makes a tremendous amount of sense in terms of introducing people the franchise.

To be a high ranking hunters means you are pretty strong. If you weren't you couldn't get to that point. That said the hunter organisation is hardly the only group that teaches people Nen in the world of HxH. Hisoka for example was far beyond most hunters and just took the exam for the priviliges. Killua's dad and grandad aren't even hunters but both are among the stronger characters in the series. The same goes for the spiders. That said, excluding the ant arc, HxH is imo actually good for how it stays away from the insane power differences. Even the main characters are actually pretty weak in the scheme of things. I actually prefer it when characters aren't constantly the strongest of the strong and fighting to save the world. That's why i disliked the ant arc. It's just a kid looking for his dad in an interesting world. They don't need a cheap "save humanity" story to get people interested. Less is more in this case.

Thats pretty cool, I totally forgot about that lol. The Zoldyck family interactions are awesome. Illumi and Hisoka dynamic is pretty great too. This arc seems to be gearing up to be a huge success On November 25 2011 17:14 rabidch wrote: god damn allukas so cute. really interesting dynamics here hehe, that "bring it" "ok" *truck out of nowhere* i think he also made a request of alluka in the last chapter, if anybody wants to count Yea, she really went from "creepiest thing ive ever seen" to "way too adorable" in an instant. Its also interesting how much the Zoldyck family members seem to care and respect each other even when theyre trying to kick each others asses
