Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |
In general I reallly didn't like this episode. Just another filler. Hell, even the title gives it away as a filler episode: "secrets". Annoying. As an audience, we already know about all of the secrets, as there weren't any twists what so ever. So to have an episode fully based on revealing these secrets is terrible.
I really can't stand Lori. She's weak and constantly shows it, bringing down people that are trying to push on instead of wallow in what was. Never been a fan of Andrea either, and I thought that the "slow mo" scene where she gets an adrenaline rush and starts shooting the zombies was one of the corniest things I've seen in a while.
I also have to note the abruptness of these sex scenes. It's as if the writers have never talked to a woman in their lives... Anyway, just a lame episode overall that almost did nothing to move the plot forward. Shane basically saved the episode for me to at least make it somewhat watchable.

How much of episodes do people skip?
I find myself skipping like 50% of the 'filler' dialogue to get to the remotely interesting parts.
Even the zombie parts aren't that great. It's like they're just in the episodes to remind people it's a zombie show. In the first series the zombos at least had some sort of purpose to the story lines. This show has been stagnant for at least the last 4 episodes now without any direction. The story is just boring as of now.
Filler dialogue+random zombo scene=episode. It's turned into a bleeding soap opera. I feel like I could miss 3 episodes and still catch up easily as to what's happening (aka not much).
Hopefully they're saving the budget for a big last 5-6 episodes and we actually get to see some meaningful stories develop.

Anyone notice that Glen's shirt was totally clean despite hammering down on the walker's head? There's no splatter on his clothes.

Some of the best acting this episode during this whole series and you complain? gtfo

I agree, I thought the acting in this episode was really well done in some places (kinda bad in some others though)
At least some shit with the characters got sorted out which (hopefully) leaves room for the actual plot to move next episode.

Honestly the last episode felt like it was leading up to something, this episode felt so anti-climatic with respect to all of the things that were involved.
Dale had to... if he protests about it..and herschel says take a hike buddy....they are screwed.
Rick plot lines is fine.
Shane/Andrea have always been the two 3rd wheels well now they have eachother for awhile at least.
Maggie was just upset she was attacked. I'm not sure she was ever attacked before...

If you're skipping scenes to see the zombie parts why even watch the show? Skipping is retarded, you can't criticise a show if you're not watching it as the writers intended. You'll have 0 interest in the characters after a while which just leaves you with a bunch of dead people chasing a bunch of people you don't care about. It's a little slow but still a decent watch atm if you don't have ADD. In the end it's a TV drama not an action film, learn to enjoy the fillers or stop watching/bitching.

Dale is perhaps the most understanding and level-headed person in the group, I don't see much out of character with how he was diplomatic broaching it with Herschel (the barn zombies aren't an immediate threat).
Maggie was emotional after the attack and pissed she almost died over abortion pills...seemed fair enough
I liked how Rick took it, he'd have to be blind not to have realized her and shane had been a couple by now. If he loves both of them and understands the context in which it happened, it seems reasonable he wouldn't blow up about it, especially as he had plenty of time to think it over.

If you watch the credits, you will realize that this episode was written by a women.
Either way, Andrea is annoying as shit. She's an emotional wreck, I can't stand here. Lori is dumb, she is weak, but tries to hide it. I wanted more of Darryl this episode!!!!

This season is starting to see more traction, and Rick also finding out about finally about what's been going on kept me intrigued. But still boring...
Whaaat. She got a sick body and honestly her face isnt that bad, she is like 35-40 surely?

all plots are kinda on the climax now, so i expect the next episode to be good best case: zombie barn flips out, lots of dead and again-dead people, other plots make out for epic shootout between the living. worst case: some andrea shane story while searching that little girl

My biggest problem lately, and I think most peoples' as well, is that the show moved away from the whole "struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic zombie-infested world" to "start drama with what we can assume are some of the last humans in existence".
The whole zombie craze didn't start because people wanted to see zombies, it started because the idea of moving through a once busy world we take for granted everyday trying to survive just the day-to-day life, and dealing with the complete mindfuck that accompanies the idea that everyone you knew and loved are now dead flesh-eaters, is just a huge system shock, and people like to imagine what it'd be like to have to go through it. But TWD isn't doing the greatest job emulating the reality of a situation like that. It's just drama drama drama zombie drama drama couple more zombies drama.

They are still struggling to survive, maybe right now not physically, but mentally. What is interesting is you gets to see each character on the show evolves in their take on humanity, other people and this world.

He just seemed like an obsessive dad, he could have easily said everything he did calmly. Just didn't seem like his character to suddenly get that pissed off. Especially since if he actually felt Shane was that kind of a person, a hostile reaction would have been the obviously conclusion. I mean comon, old man in the fringe of the group vs the former leader/current second in command/gun expert. Did he really think he could intimidate Shane into leaving?
+ Show Spoiler +He loves her, his reaction was exactly as to be expected, Especially considering what he knows her and shane just did.

breaking the legs of the chicken was cruel was worse than anything ive seen in this series so far :D

I really do hope the final few episodes are extremely action packed and the build up is worth it. This build up is sooo big
