Notice how practically nothing any of them say is funny at all. Hell, the first "joke" in the scene is "My mom sent me my old N64." Notice how neither of them have any idea about videogames (Multiplayer Mario64? Mario 64 didn't need a memory card).
I am seriously surprised this thread got the positive response it did. I honestly expected that the OP would just get told over and over again how the show is awful, and he should feel bad for watching it.
To be fair I thought the nerd jokes in the beginning ~Season 1-2 were pretty good. But after that they were definitely dumbing it down for the mainstream audience. Lets face it, if they were true nerds they wouldn't be using Macbooks, Alienwares or playing Halo
They were using Alienwares (or XPS's, same thing) and playing Halo throughout seasons 1 and 2 lol

Amy is horrible. If it wasnt for the break between s5 and s6 I woudlnt even watch the show purely because of her. Shes terrible.
Meh she's annoying but it's too good to miss out on Sheldon's wild antics just because of an annoying character

The hard part is, that unlike leslie winkle who would just pop in and ruin half of a scene or so, shes consistently a part of the storyline and worse yet, consistently part of the sheldon oriented storyline. I dont even think shes a good actor or anything. I could accept the character, but the actor ruins it. Shes the "girl" sheldon, and yet both in actions and statements shes nothing like him. She just stands awkwardly and has a ridiculous inflection. Not an autistic kind of one, not one lacking confidence...just an utterly absurd inflection you would never see in reality. Shes just terrible. I feel insulted that they actually wrote these poor of lines for this poor of an actor and expect me to take it THIS often.

its WHEEAATOON. how can you not know him >.<
amy is "meh". prefered sheldon as a unique anomality. its not like shes destroying it for me like the guy some posts above. but i wouldnt care at all if she would just disappear right now.
For me at first Amy was just a kinda funny Sheldon side-note, but now that she is trying to be more like Penny and Bernedette, the result is usually pretty funny.
Must admit i love this show with a passion, and so does my GF.
She tells me im like leonard -_- - im nowhere near that smart. Tells her it reminds me of when im talking shit (???) about starcraft over TS. A load of weirdness she cant understand xD
I have only watched what has been aired on E4 though ( a channel on UK TV. ) - i must download moar!
I liked tonight's new episode because it wasn't just funny; it had some drama in it too. It progressed Howard's relationship(s) (or, at least, it will cause changes in the immediate future). It wasn't just a "filler" episode

Wow really? So you're like... at least 6 or so episodes behind us? That stinks
Blah, this show lacks any real wit (i.e. intelligence, the calling card of the nerd). If they're going to make 'nerd' references, at least do it correctly...as a math major, I cringed when they started talking about a Mobius band in one of the episodes. As a side-note, most nerds aren't nearly this garrulous. Mostly shy and awkward.
To be honest, I think Amy started as a "okay" character and is now a great character, she's hilarious. On the other hand, Bernadette is so ****** annoying i can't even watch her.
All the pranks in the Halloween episode were pretty epic, especially the one at the end topped off by the best quote ever "Bazinga punk now we're even."
