If you weren't into other comic-based movies, I would still go see this one. The comic book and script were actually developed together, for the record, so it's really not "comic-based" like Spiderman or X-Men, as the comic was developed with the movie in mind. Plus, an 11 year old kicking the asses of a ton of grown men has never been so entertaining.

It doesnt matter if the script is brilliant, i personally wouldnt sit and watch this movie for $100 bucks let alone pay to. I find it to be extremely condescending and typical of this era of American entertainment. Its stuff like this that makes the movie "Idiocracy" seem more and more prophetic. But of course, this kind of opinion of the movie will be the extreme minority, and it will make a ton of money. Just like American Idol and the Backstreet Boys. Or Nickelback. So you wouldn't sit on your ass for 1 hours and 57 minutes for 100 dollars. Way to show that you're a retarded little kid with no idea about the value of money. And please, enlighten us about how much you can find out about a 2 hour movie from a 2 minute trailer. I'd personally have a hard time summarizing all the important plot points in 2 minutes, let alone give a significant understanding of the film.

You know what I can judge from your post? That you have absolutely no idea what the hell you are talking about. In this movie in particular the trailer was extremely misleading..much like Avatar no? Avatar's trailer showed what should have been an INCREDIBLE movie with an INCREDIBLE story and you got a high tech Pocahontas out of it. I went into Kick-Ass expecting a medicore comedy that may or may not have been worth my money. What I got was a well spent two hours that had me laughing and completely amused throughout the movie. I would spend another eight dollars to watch this movie in a heartbeat. You have no right to judge a movie based on a trailer...ever...EVER. It's like judging a book by it's cover and you know what they say about that right? I'd also bet money that if someone actually offered you 100 dollars to watch the shittiest movie ever made you would do it because it's 100 freaking dollars for at most 2 hours of your time. In short, your post makes no sense/

Lollin at the simultaneous accusation of condescension and assumption of superiority going on in this post. God Idiocracy was so right, wasn't it? Next thing you know kids are going to be forgetting rules for apostrophes, not capitalizing when they should, and just sitting on the internet accusing others of talking like fags. Kick-ass kicked ass. I expected it to be bad but enjoyable and it surprised me, I would watch it again without a second thought. Nicholas Cage's horrible acting went surprisingly well with the neurotic character they had him playing.

You can't judge a movie by its trailer. Exhibit A: Watchmen. Fucking sweet trailer, goddamn terrible fucking movie. I was literally angry that I made myself sit through that retarded hunk of garbage, and that says something since I expected it to suck to begin with. That being said, I saw Kick-Ass, and it was terrible. BELIEVE ME...I understand your distaste for movies like this, but you still have to SEE it before you judge it. Otherwise you're making baseless accusations because you haven't actually seen its flaws. tldr: Correct analysis by chance since you haven't seen it. edit: I could also gather that Kick-Ass was probably going to be a horrendous piece of shit, which it was, but note that I said "probably." Don't know until you've seen it. I've been surprised before.
