Had this movie been as brutal as it should have been, Kick ass would have had tons of repetitive oh shit, stabbed, near death, hospital moments and i feel with Red Mist as he picks up his fathers legacy. It isnt easy being the villain. Really hope he makes it work rather than simply become another comic book villain. When I saw the trailer I expected this to mainly be a comedy, not a graphically violent action movie like that. I mean teenagers and a 12 year old or sth playing the main role, trailer showing all the funny parts like the very beginning with the guy thinking he can fly, hitgirl and her dad going "youll be fiiine baby doll", the main dude "practicing" in front of the mirror. Kinda gives a very different impression. Surely its a different thing if youve read the comic but I mean I didnt even know there was one.

One of my problems with the movie was the suspension of disbelief. Why would kick ass's girl's ex-boyfriend be a big black guy if she seemed so sweet as if Hollywood toned her down into a nice (though sex freak) girl. The other weird part was when big daddy was yelling while on fire. Hehe what he said was hilarious if you read it. Anyways, these parts were weird. If you're still iffy: Do you like stereotypical superhero movies:eg dark knight, superman, hancock, spiderman? your answer here doesn't matter Do you like nonstereotypical superhero movies:eg watchmen? yes, then go watch it no then don't edit: f**k it, go watch it even if you didn't like watchman's blue dick. I was smiling all the way through this one.

What if you liked Terminator 4 and Die Hard 4 and the latest Indiana Jones (none of these were as good as their originals though) but despise Watchmen? And lastly what if I loved District 9 but thought Avatar was an over-hyped piece of garbage? My point is that taste in action movies is as subjective as taste in comedy. You can't say "this film was more artistic in it's production or plot so therefore it's better" when the main aim of a lot of these films is to be entertaining not pieces of Art. This is coming from a reformed snob ![]()

Basically if you want to watch 2 hours of escalating stylized violence set to poppy music I guess you'll enjoy it. The entire movie really is just an escalation of violence, starting with fist-fights, then fighting with sticks, then stabbings, then people getting shot in the face for a good 45 minutes, finishing up with a chain-gun mounted jetpack and a bazooka. Take away the fight scenes and you have like 10 minutes of insanely unoriginal dialogue and storyline. edit- Just for the record, I have no problem with violence. I've seen many amazing movies that are far more graphically violent than this. I just don't think you can make a good movie out of absolutely nothing but people getting shot in the head, stabbed, set on fire, and beaten with bats. There needs to be some kind of decent acting or story to accompany it.
