Festivals and such are the sorts of places in which I like to be around electronic music, not elevators. Appreciate you posting them, but it turns out they're just not my taste. It's kind of obnoxious to act pretentious about music, whether or not it's popular. So maybe just post about what you like and share your songs without taking stabs at the main stream sheeple musics :p
hahaha! elevator music! thats good! you know whats funny? i showed this music to some co workers one time and they said it sound like softcore porn music lmao i guess i can agree, some of it is very mellow, once you get used to it you start to appreciate the subleties instead of how loud or blaring it is. oh btw, listening to this on your own is very different from listening to it at a club with an amazing sound system, believe me if you dont liek it now, at a club it would sound completely different, the bass is so much better.
actually now that you mention it, i think you may be right, hah. A friend asked me to go to a tech house show in SF a couple months ago (dont recall who played since i dont keep up with that stuff). had no idea what to expect, but it ended up being a really fun experience. music was exciting enough to keep everyone going well into the end of the night, and everyone i went with had a great time. i guess that's technically the same kind of music as the stuff you're into? definitely much better to listen to in a club than on my crappy laptop speakers, i'll agree with ya on that!
Nature One was pretty epic, wish I could've been there for both days. But I'm not sure how much I would've gotten out of the second one anyway looking at the fact that it's from 6pm to 9am.
Unfortunately we arrived a little late on friday and missed Moguai because he had a pretty early slot. One of the few more "popular" DJs I really wanted to see that day.
Got to see Brian Sanhaji and Klaudia Gawlas, did some roaming around afterwards to check out the smaller floors and Sebastian Ingrosso on the open air floor which - needless to say - was absolutely packed, didn't really enjoy it there and then went on to see The Advent and Chris Liebing.
Especially Klaudia Gawlas and The Advent had two killer sets that night.
I really hope the full set is still to be released.
So VELD was pretty fun. Krewella and Kaskade both did amazing sets, and Above and Beyond closing out the night was just unreal (I saw them at EDC in Vegas, and the set they did last night was miles better somehow) with that said, the crowd was pretty shitty considering it was kinda all ages (if you were younger then 15, you just had to have parents come with you) so there were a ton of youngins' who were experiencing drugs and alcohol for the first time T.T - by that i mean 16-17year olds popping pills, and Adventure Club couldn't actually make it today due to travel issues.. which sucked because i only went for the 2nd day to see them... but it happens.
Also can anyone explain to me why people love steve Aoki throwing cake in their faces? I mean, when he played, the place went absolutely bat shit crazy to extreme uncontrollable levels (the crowds at EDC were a million times better and people were more in control of themselves) and everyone was yelling how much they wanted cake to the face... I would have been pissed if i had gotten hit and then had to give up my awesome spot in the crowd to get cleaned up before Kasakde and A&B closing the night out ahah.
Edit: And of course I leave after hearing Adventure Club isn't playing, only to get home and hear that they made it to the festival and are now playing a bit later T.T
I got to see Madeon this weekend in Houston. Having never been to an EDM show in my life I had a blast. I've never been somewhere were 1 person can influence so many people into feeling so many different things. Definatly looking into more. He also dropped his new track at the end, Technicolor.
sick, madeon is pretty awesome especially for how young he is. I keep managing to miss him when he's playing ~~
I've got a pretty gangster collaborative trance playlist (old classics + new stuff from people like indecent noise, ben nicky, jordan suckley, anjunabeats,MS54, etc.) if anyone wants in on it

yeah, let's get him into dubstep (jk!). He hasn't released that many tracks but they do have a lot of similarity (besides pop culture lol that's something else). In the city, his remix of a night out, finale all have a bit of similarity to them. I'll have to find a good set of his, I have no idea what he sounds like live despite the fact he's been at like 3 festivals i've been to.
Showtek - Booyah The german duo is just sick, every single track they make are like drugs where you could listen all day long. I've seen them few months ago, I thought they were pretty decent. hope they get more famous on the scene. + Show Spoiler +
They are not from Germany :D they are from the netherlands. And you don't need for more hope that they get more famous, in the electric-house scene everybody knows them, and every DJ has at least 1 song of them in their playlist.
Showtek are my favourit duo since they made hardstyle <3
Why is there so much elitism surrounding EDM? It's like there's a competition going on to see who can listen to the most obscure music that no one else has ever heard of. And as soon as something gets too mainstream, it immediately sucks and you're a loser if you listen to it. Why can't we all just respect each others' opinions and have fun sharing the music that we love?

Give this a read:
There are 2 sides to the scene currently: the divisiveness you see through social media comments, and the sense of oneness that is experienced at any electronic music festival or true electronic music show.
Didn't see this one posted here. The composition, sound design, and production is insane. I produce music myself and I'm completely blown away by how good this track is.
