While I self identify as a trance fan, some Progressive House transfusion is always great.

Been looking for the type of trance that doesn't have that heavy drum/bass claps(sorry if wrong terminology, I don't know my EDM) that are prevalent in the intro of many trance songs. Or more precisely, songs where the drum claps aren't the main, overwhelming focus at any point in the song and there is something else going on at the same time be it vocals or synth electric heavy sounding stuff(i really don't know what these type of sounds are called). Is there a type of genre for this or something? Maybe i am being to picky hahaha Some examples, from the songs of my youth :D Hope that makes sense. If not, I guess enjoy the songs

I think the songs you're finding are only from the really pure trance side of things, but I'm not sure exactly what songs you like and dislike. The songs you posted are like, really old, and most regular artists have moved on to another sound, so you'll have to dig a lot deeper to find ones that sound exactly like that (or look through older albums). But if you're talking generically about more melodic trance songs then we can get somewhere. It's not that clear what kinds of songs you're looking for because your songs all have a drum beat to them too. List some examples of things you don't want, and ones you want more of. Nic Toms - Velvet My favorite out of the last 7 episodes Toom Swoon feat. Taylr Reene - Wings (Myon & Shane 54 Summer of Love Mix) Absolutely THE best vocal trance song I've heard in a long while. Orjan Nilsen - XIING The Blizzard & Daniel van Sand feat. Julie Thopson - Made For You (Gal Abutbul remix) Vocal, an awesome song Dimension & Moonsouls - Rise Above the World (Ultimate Mix) A melodic masterpiece

The rest I didn't. Too much repetition I guess?

@Mootland - good tunes i'm LOVING the ms54 mix of wings. Then again MS54 pretty much nails it on every mix they do :p Gareth Emery is fucking awesome. Talk about some PLUR. CHARITY POLL RESULTS. Thank you for all of your votes. A lot of you said that all the charities should get something, and I agree, so rather than give the entire $15 to the winner, I have decided to split it up roughly on the basis of votes received. $8k - Macmillan Cancer Support $4k - Doctors Without Borders / MSF $1k - Brainwave $1k - Daughters For Life $1k - Ignito Project We will be contacting the charities to make these donations over the next week or so. Thank you for joining with me on this - together we have made a small difference in people's lives and I am already planning the next thing we can do together. Gaz x Also, mat zo has been CRUSHING it lately: (MRSA is a mat zo alias...so he remixed his alter ego? lol)

From the examples he posted, it looks like he's interested in late 90s style trance where melodies usually heavily revolved around dramatic anthems with supersaw leads.

Yeah that's definitely the impression I got, I just couldn't put it into words like you did. I don't think many artists produce songs like that though. Just updated my blog with a bunch of new music. Tell me what you think. I don't have much "true" EDM though. http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?id=425573

Also, Not sure how i'd define adventure club but they've got some sweet mixes out (dubstep mixed with house/trance) and that's coming from someone who's not really a fan of dubstep. https://soundcloud.com/adventureclubdubstep/superheroes-anonymous-vol-1 https://soundcloud.com/adventureclubdubstep/sha-2 https://soundcloud.com/adventureclubdubstep/superheroes-anonymous-volume-3 And an amazing single: https://soundcloud.com/adventureclubdubstep/lullabies-yuna-adventure-club-remix

They have a very unique sound with their mixed Dubstep + "insert other genre" themes. Personnally my favourite is their remix of Youth from Foxes <3 I think it's probably up there as one of my all time favourite songs in general. Edit: Meant to also link these. I've been really liking Kat Krazy over the past week or so, he has some pretty catchy stuff.
