I say disregard the haters.. if you choose to get Aftershock, its an extra stun. I almost always pick it up at level 4, its my standard.
@Scorch - Of course, you are only getting it for the extra stun.

I noticed razors static link is pretty good against any carry that doesn't rely on burst too much, but ursa hits too fast to let the link get to its full effect, any ideas? Vs Huskar: WR/VS can deal with him pretty well. Any stun works, but I've had the most success with those 2 - just stun after he casts Life Break. Viper or Necrolyte are pretty fun too, because then he can't risk going around with 50% HP. Vs Ursa: Force Staff+stun/slow. The first burst deals the most damage, with Overpower on cooldown his dps drops considerably. Just get his primary target out of range, then slow/stun him. Alternatively, VS is pretty good vs any of those heroes + naix. Wait for them to pick a target and then either swap the teammate targeted or the enemy hero depending on lineups. naix is gonna get you raped. Ursa has high armor negating a lot of feast damage and in consecuence lifesteal. Let's not ignore the fact that the longer ursa hits you the more damage (and more lifesteal) he gets and naix is not known for it's burst damage. Naix vs Huskar fails for a similar reason. Against a low hp huskar you don't lifesteal much and he deals more damage to you than you do to him. Naix does not have enough dps to kill this two. I would say Necro, OD and pugna are your best choices. Slardar is also a good idea because he makes Ursa and Huskar very flimsy heroes.
For countering the Ursa/Huskar pubstomp, probably Skeleton King is my first choice, or Juggernaut. Passive critical + Lifeleech to counteract the high damage. Plus stuns are very effective against both, SK is an all-around good choice vs the two. I think everyone else covered it all well. Additionally, I also like Queen of Pain or Storm Spirit vs these kinds of heroes. They can't really kill you alone, meaning you can annoy the hell out of them and hinder their farm.
@Gotmyown - That's why I recommended a hero with burst of his own and lifesteal.

You misunderstood. I was saying that VS is a good counter to ursa, huskar, and naix because changing positions screws their usually ONE method of getting to a target, and swap > magic immunity.

Not to mention the totem buff to your auto attack damage is not insignificant at low levels.

Lifeleech is worst against burst damage and best against slower damage dealers.
In pubs, I'd pick pugna and go hard lane. Ursa can't lane, and if he jungles you push the tower down, you make him useless all early mid team fights.
ES is ok if you don't want to take up farm. BKB doesn't help against a careful fissure counterstun.

Any chance i get beta key nowadays? I singed up for beta LITERALLY 1minute after it was announced waiting for over half year now. I was part of beta on regural DotA so i thought i might get a chance...

Considering you were part of the DotA 1 beta, I assume you have contact info for IceFrog, in which case you could ask him.
There are still several contests going on, particularily the PlayDota one if you have a preexisting membership.
The following is pure speculation, but they recently said that the long downtime last week was due to them setting up servers globally in order to accomidate a playerbase many times larger than the current one. I would take this to mean that they will ramp up invites soon.

Huskar really just sucks against stuns and burst damage.
As some people have already said, Pugna is pretty good against Ursa. Decrepify Ursa until Ursa gets BKB, then decrepify Ursa's target afterward.
When Troll gets implemented I'd say he does decently against Ursa.
And actually thinking about it, if you're fast enough Tinker--nothing like a three second blind early on.

Pugna: the hero to pick when your pub teammates are too stupid to buy Ghost Scepters.

Is there much point in attempting to play Sven as a carry, or is he better played in a generic tanky support/stun role?

How does shadow demon's shadow poison work? The wiki is really confusing :S

Sven pretty awesome in 5.84 when god strength gave 200% or 225% at level 3.

....why didn't I think of Necro....flame y u so smart
We faced a Huskar last night, and I was agisnt him as DP. Got ganked a few times, so he got a great lead. But as the game went on, I just went for super-tanking and just tried to stand toe-to-toe with him, while chain casting spells and sheeping him near the end.
There's a good chance he was bad, but it felt good to go from 0-4 to 18-5, with his death there a few times.

Death Prophet and Leshrac are the two that immediately come to mind.

Still though, Sven is an inferior choice for a pimary DPS carry. Come to think of it, I can't remember having seen a Sven played as a primary physical carry since the relic game against LGD. And if it weren't for the relic issue, LGD would have won handily.

Just supports? Bloodstone is good on heroes that:
- Have spammable spells
- Rely primarily upon magic damage
- Survive through tanking
I'm not talking about Windrunner and her 9 second Powershot cooldown, since Windrunner deals way more in physical damage later on and runs really fast. As somebody already mentioned, Death Prophet and Leshrac are two notable cases. Krobelus has an AoE nuke with a four second cooldown and wants to tank more due to Exorcism spirits. Leshrac is in the center of things with Edict and Nova, and as a result is often focused early. Bloodstone allows steamrolling heroes to continue steamrolling. Blitz builds Bloodstone on Storm in pubs.
I could also see Bloodstone being useful on heroes like Enchantress, Zeus, Obsidian Destroyer (as odd as it seems--I'll let this game do the explaining), and Necrolyte.
