What are you talking about?
I'm just coming back to the scene and all I did starting was random pick against bots to learn the items, and now I still just random pick in MM to learn all the champions.
Play random. Learn everyone decently and all their roles and THEN specialize in something.

So would spending 4-5 hours in single player, docking about with each and every hero to understand their skills.
That's his previous statement, so I assume that's what he means is not going to happen. I don't even think that's what people should be doing if they are starting, but trying every single hero agaisnt bots is much more unlikely than just playing random anyway.

So where do you report bugs? On the steam forums? Today a Warlock linked our Antimage to Roshan and the enemy killed him via damaging Rosh while he was in our base with full HP, lol. That can't be intended, right?

Yeah, that's what I meant. Thing is - dota is a game of knowledge first, then strategy and teamwork, with some mechanics sprinkled around like bacon on a salad.
If you are just starting, and you have a big ol group of people who are just starting, the guy that spends a couple of hours messing around in single player with all the heroes would ballstomp the others, maybe no the first game if they spent those few hours playing a couple of games, but he'd have a massive advantage. I'm just saying that if you want to be good, you need to know everything. Having at least a vague understanding of what all the heroes do is so useful.

are there any consequences to early abandonment?

In reply to my question: #dota2.cw on Quakenet is the place to find them.

yes, if you do it regularly you can get banned, otherwise you'll get put into matchmaking with a low priority resulting in long- very long queue times. some pros even had to get new accounts because they had queue times of roughly one hour.

every time i try to play even on single player, i find that there seems to be some lag between my mouse clicking and the unit response, is there any way that i can remove this lag? sorry if this is a repeated question

it's intended input delay IIRC. No way to remove it Better get used to it I don't like it either but the dota 1 vets do

DotA2 is on a client-server model, IIRC, rather than the P2P model of WC3, and even custom games with one player are still hosted on Valve's servers. So even if you host a game with no one else in it, you're still connecting to Valve's servers, which means your network connection is still relevant.

This is definitely something the dota team overlooked. Thank god it doesnt work on towers. Only on buildings in-base.

Does Nightstalkers ult have a purpose at night?
I heard it extends night making it last longer, but I don't know if thats true.
|
Yes it does. You use it at night so it prolongs the night duration.
|
NIghstalkers ultimate pauses the time, making night effectively longer by the duration of the ulti.
If you cast it at 1 am, it'll end at 1 am too.
