Rather stupid question, but what does CM and CS mean?

Also, is there any way to buy items in the shop using ONLY your keyboard? Just like in counterstrike? It feels rather silly to have to click with your mouse :/

try using quick buy and maybe quick buy button, it's generally good enough

Butterfly for the hardcore agility carries. Anti-Mage, Void (+more bash with AS) etc.
Buriza for one hit wonder heroes, like Admiral really. Admiral isn't even a carry but he's the only viable buriza carrier in a pubstomp game. For everything else, another item does the job better. (Armlet, BKB, Deso, etc) Buriza is down the road.. like your 3rd or 4th item for most str carries.

Not much situations for Bfly vs Buriza, one is for agility heroes, the other is for strength.

In my opinion (which isn't good, admittedly), buriza makes less sense with heroes that have low attack speed - generally you want it on heroes that have high attack speed and high base damage (that's why you tend to see crti on drow - her ulti gives her naturally high base attack damage with high attack speed). The reason kunkka often gets buriza is more for the lolzy chance to get a perfect crit splash on 5 heroes and he is relatively reliant on this to do damage (and thus is taking a large chance to be effective). If I get Buriza, it's usually the third or fourth lategame item after I already have other important items.

Or long story short, other items before buriza.


Yeah, Manta is usually the first choice for dps and Desolator is just too good. I cry when pros go MKB and Buriza with no orb effect in a pusher meta.

Deso buriza manta combination is the best dps combo for mirana unless there's evasion on the field. The same goes for sniper.

"pusher meta" = early/midgame pushes, not fully farmed carry pushes; at that point carries will melt towers regardless of items and it's much more important that they melt heroes

and who cares about minor changes in dps deso eats your orb and mkb gives you ministuns + true strike

One thing about MKB on ranged heroes is that it lets you attack uphill without penalty. It helps a lot when trying to take t3s.
The only barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. It's through our pane (pain) we window (win though).

Why don't pros get quelling blade? I've seen a few matches they never got one. Maybe when laning against other melee heroes they do? But even against range, if they aren't harassed it's pretty hard to deny

melee heroes generally have more base damage and/or a much better attack animation than range heroes, so missing lasthits is more an issue of lane control than lasthit damage, and shield (or occasionally PMS) helps out a lot more in that regard

you might see it picked up occasionally after bfury on heroes like am or jugg to speed up their farming rates a bit, and it's also pretty common on lycan to speed up his jungle

QB helps you last hit, but most pros already last so good it's not worth it. Never start with it unless you jungle, it's in side shop and is ultra cheap if you really have problems with last hit.

Forces opponents to get down from their height. We played a push strat with sniper that worked pretty well due to the dmg output of mkb from low ground.

I could claim that as a problem for any hard carry with no escape mechanism.... In fact, almost any hero without an escape mechanism. Sniper isn't actually that easy to jump provided you have good warding because Take Aim allows him to stand very far away from the creeps, so at around level 3 it becomes very hard to jump him in lane or even harass and we aren't even taking into account any support that is in the lane for him yet.

Manta Style is usually gotten first on Sniper before any other damage item anyway (unless you are from the Phase/MoM school of sniper). It gives good damage, stats and movespeed.

And that's why carrys who only tend to be useful in the lategame are rarely drafted - its simply too hard for them to farm without constantly being ganked.

He suffers from shadow fiend syndrome. He can be really freaking strong, but smoke up and free kills will ensue. You can have safer hard carries like morph and void who scale just as well (probably better) but have much better survivability.

it doesn't matter but it used to before hold position stopped you from moving
now it doesn't really matter whatever you prefer
