I always held the philosophy that this is first and foremost a game, and it should never feel like something you are studying or memorizing. Like it's far more important for a new player to know Sven's stun follows enemies, is AoE, and does decent damage than to know it does 100/175/etc. damage and has a radius of ~250 and lasts 2 seconds or whatever.

Which is, I'm pretty sure, essentially what you're saying in that final sentence. Visually knowing things is the most important part to learning this really. So perhaps we're just arguing the same point

I sometimes see people on streams get hit by towers, do something (still in range of towers), and then the tower focuses on a creep instead, when I get focused by towers they keep hitting on me until I'm out of range, could anyone shed some light on this?
I'll bite this hand that feeds me, and take it for my own!

You a-click on one of your creeps, and for whatever reason, the tower will stop attacking you. The creep doesn't even have to be below half-health.

all you have to do is be closer to it than other attacking units. if nobody is attacking the hero then tower will switch targets (eventually)

I just started playing Sand King, I think this guys is amazing, are there any good pro VODs of someone showing a great SK? He isn't picked too often anymore, but I remember a few months ago he was quite common.

Dota 2 can go from very lenient to very demanding. The patch a few weeks ago added a bunch of options to tone down the graphics. You can make the game look like an NES game if you have to.

What is the meaning of heroes being assigned to Radiant or Dire (e.g. Anti-mage is Radiant, Tidehunter is Dire etc.)? I assumed this meant that they could only be picked by that team in captains mode, but they I watched a game where Anti-mage was Dire. So just wondering what it actually means.

What's the fastest way to solo Roshan (with ursa?)

I've been trying to do it at level 5 with stout shield, basilius, 6 salves and a clarity, without running out of the pit, but sometimes it's pretty disastrous.

There was a guy who apparently did it in 5:40.

No, its not. MKB+skadi+lifesteal works fine on ranged heros.

Hell, in dota 2 mkb & skadi & lifesteal & mjollnir works on sniper (who had issues wih mkb in dota 1)
