I remember reading that all Bone7 would eat when travelling is watermelon and rice? That must be a reason where he could play amazing at game one but loses the stamina needed for the subsequent ones. Thus the throws. Cloud9 needs a nutritionist asap. These guys are living a pretty sedentary lifestyle, they need to eat the right food to perform at their best.

Bone7 gets so much criticism. I know it's been a long time, but is it possible he can like improve himself to the point of stability or is he completely FUBAR and needs to be replaced?

I love Bone7, I've seen him do miraclous plays but he makes all these mistakes, and I don't see their competition making so many blunders. And if the goal is to win TI (Envy does not want to be complacent, I think before teams were just happy to make a living off of Dota full-time, but Envy wants to WIN and win big), then something needs to happen in their training or strategy so it doesn't feel like they're sabotaging themselves every other game.

Well Singx2 got kicked way easier even though his Meepo plays placed C9 so high in TI4.

Anyway, nothing would surprise me anymore. Bone3+2+2 would just be another victim of EE's merciless captainship. Question is, how many people would still like to play in C9 if people get kicked out so easily?

This far people haven't been getting booted easily from c9 at all. bone7, PLD and EE played together for like 21 months, Sing played with them for around a year (and the player change came after TI when it is a natural time to consider changes anyway), Aui played with them for 16 months or so. Given that they didn't consistently win titles, imo the core of the team stayed together a long time.

I highly doubt they will make any player changes now. Firstly 5th-6th is hardly a disastrous result, and I think they can feel themselves getting better throughout the event. It was a pretty devastating way to lose when a 2-0 over Secret was so close, but still considering how things looked a few days back I think the team is becoming better. Also Misery played offlane for Secret with seemingly pretty good success, so if they actually wanted to change bone7 they probably could have kept Aui or PLD and taken Misery in as an offlaner. It doesn't seem to me that it's something they want to do.

I don't get why people think this tournament result is bad for them. They dominated secret in game 1, should have won game 2, and put up a good fight in game 3. If you look positively, it showed that there's still potential there.

Bone7 though had a horrible tournament, and needs to improve his hero pool. Phoenix and brood are great heroes in certain drafts, but c9 was not able to utilise them.

I agree, 5th-6th is a decent placement (with both the old or the new lineup), it's not great but not bad at all. Also I believe that the team feels they are improving, and imo the results they showed in the lower bracket were very positive. Winning over Secret was really close in the end as well.

One has to remember that DAC was the first LAN the new western teams attended, and teams may have much room for improvement. Getting on the same page about everything doesn't need to happen at the same rate for all the new teams. We'll see in a few months how c9 stands in the western scene. Although of course DAC was huge in terms of prize money, the final goal is still TI.

Yeah they still did better than everybody outside secret/eg/VG/BG and maybe rave.

Yeah but they lost in the most comical clowny ways possible. That doesn't look good at all.

yeah I assumed the anger was from the disaster that was end of G2 onwards lol

5th/6th at TI4.5 is a great result, but C9 should still be in the tournament

Still did better than everybody outside those 5(or 4 if we don't count rave) even with their shitty performance. They should be able to do well if they finally started gelling. Obviously it's not as good as secret or EG for a new team cause both are on fire but they should get better in the future.

That's normal for c9 though

yeah don't look as solid as expected of them .. but they still did well with bone-chan trying to try everygame rofl

I've seen better offlaners than Bone7 in pubs. That dude has to go.
Every freaking match he dies atleast 5 times for no apparent reason.

I think it looks much better to lose in the way c9 lost than to get completely outplayed in the game and just lose because you are clearly worse at that time. Of course it's an annoying way to go out for the players and the fans, but looking to the future their strong play to get into those positions where they then messed up (whether it is against BG or Secret) suggests that they have plenty of potential.

What would you guys feel if Fly becomes the new C9 offlaner?

probably not .. look at meepawn with fly

fly was doing ok at secret before but he only started doing well when the western reshuffle was close and even misery is doing a better offlane than him

i think they bone-chan aggressive offlane style favors more than fly's .. idk if there are other offlane available right now

Misery is a playmaker, if c9 decides to make new roster changes an option would be to have him rotate to offlane and then pickup someone with the same instinct as support. I like jerax for the role, though it would obviously be somewhat of a gamble.

Regardless, after a tough group-stage, I think the improvement from match to match was very encouraging, even if a couple of the results were devastating.

Fly was only ok in the offlane because s4 + puppey + notail did so much shit for him back then.

[Edit]

On another note, why didn't c9 have TPs? Courier died?

according to reddit(some dude actually checked the replay) they straight up forgot and they lost their courier at the roshan fight when they were scouting with it. C9 got way too cocky/probably lacked some calm (the team has always been full of emotional personalities, even moreso with the 2 new additions) as they pushed mid

oh well I guess
